As a woman I think it’s better if possible to always do 50/50 unless one is very set on paying for it all, like if someone asked me to go on a date I wouldn’t expect them to pay for it all just because they asked if I’m honest but if they were set on it I would allow it. I've never been on a date but the closest thing I've ever had was pretty bad. I'm a gay guy. When I was in high school, there was a guy I had connected with and we were going to meet up at the mall. I got there late, but honestly good thing I did because him and all of his friends were getting kicked out by mall security because one of his friends slid down the escalator rail. This guy from his school was there who was really homophobic and had beaten him up for being gay before was there and he started following us, so me and the guy got in my car and the friends in another and we had to drive all over town to lose him. We went to the fast food place they all worked at after that to get snacks and then the friends except 1 went home, the three of us went to his house. The friend also left eventually and we were watching Peppa Pig and he wanted to have sex, but he didn't say that, and shortly after he told me he wasn't interested anymore. The friend who was at the house threatened to come into my work and described in detail how he was going to beat me if I ever tried to talk to the guy again, and he also told me that I was "too weird" and that's why he lost interest. Yeah I'm socially awkward, but I'm not the one who wanted to have sex while watching Peppa Pig immediately after his best friend left. Also the even crazier plot twist was a few months later, I met a guy at work who is now my best friend and I told him the story at some point and he told me how his ex was cheating on him with the guy that I went out with, and the guy I went out with only went out with me because my friend's ex dropped him for a while so my friend wouldn't break up with him. The Midwest gay scene will really have you in "such a small world" stories like that

I got married at 18 after knowing my husband for 3 Months. It Was a very stupid decision and caused so much heartache and stress trying to work together and really being an adult and building a happy life. Learning to respect eathother, making compromises, managing finances, being thoughtful and making the other feel loved and managing life and love together. We have struggled for 3 years but we finally made it and bought a house now. We both agree that we should at least have waited a year or two. But we are still here and made a lot of experiences and mistakes that others will not make until much later in life.

I tried dating apps about 6 months after a 10 year relationship dissolved. Not one good date had come of it.. The closest I had to a good date was a girl invited me out for drinks. I had maybe 2 and she had like, 5. We were getting along well and she wanted to see a movie after. I agreed, but she said she had to feed her dogs first, so in the meantime I got some dinner for myself and she.. did not. We went to the movie and they served booze, so we kept drinking for the remainder of the night, but I don’t think she ate a single thing all night. After the movie we were sobering up and I smoked a joint while we talked about the movie. She asked if she could have some, so I shared it with her, not realizing she didn’t have the tolerance for mixing and she got super sick and disoriented.. I asked if she had any friends who could pick her up (we had only just met, and she doesn’t need some random guy driving her home. It just felt inappropriate, plus I wasn’t sober either). She calls her friend and after throwing up a few times I ask if she’s gonna have a ride and her response was “please don’t come near me.” I asked if she’d be okay with me waiting until her friend arrived and she said “no.” Even though I’m the one who suggested she call someone, I think her friend convinced her that I messed with her drink (even though we were sharing drinks throughout the movie).. I didn’t want to create any further discomfort, so I went home, but tried checking in on her, to no response. Next day I found out she had blocked me on IG.. I guess the moral of the story is to make sure your date eats SOMETHING if they’re gonna be drinking all night 🥲 I hope she’s doing well and taking care of herself
