While I agree with you that he’s been underused other than that run and some dream matches, look at it from his perspective. He can’t win. Not in the ring, but irl with the fans. If he goes on long runs with the title, they complain that he’s one of the EVPs and booking himself like Hogan would. If he doesn’t, they complain he’s underused. Look how they treat the young bucks when they hold the titles (not counting the ones that hate them for the punk bs) Also, his tag stint with hangman was pretty good

I think Eddie Guererro's promo about his struggles with addiction, family issues, and other life issues during his feud with Brock Lesnar was incredible. Emotional, seemed genuine, and very impactful

I think what he meant was that had there not been a split, he would've been forced to take a back seat to guys like Undertaker, Batista, Cena, etc. and never wound up getting a world title run. Thinner rosters allowed for him to shine in a way a singular packed roster wouldn't.

I think the best promo post-2000 is Eddie Guerrero’s promo against Brock Lesnar before their World Title Match at No Way Out. Lesnar taking the jab at his addiction and what Eddie poured out in response, really made the title win so much more impactful than it already would have been.

Don't forget, Styles himself said one of the reasons why he much prefers to be in the WWE because they are more than willing to give him a schedule that suits his personal life. Like he's still a top tier contender despite being in his mid 40s but you can understand why he would want some time to be with his family. I hate a lot of Vince's decisions, but I do give him major props for treating Styles well and be willing to work with his schedule

Back when AJ was teasing potentially going to AEW they were running one taping a week that covered a live Dynamite, a taped Dark, and later Rampage and Elevation with talents rarely, if ever, double booked to wrestle. That means if it's not a PPV weekend (which it rarely was back then), you'd be working one night a week in-ring for AEW because they didn't run house shows or dark matches. I don't think he ever intended to go. I think he just used the rumor and innuendo around contract renegotiation time to get a better deal, and more power to him for it. That's how wrestling should work.

If you guys didn’t watch Lucha Underground them man… the potential that hasn’t been seen on Main Roster TV is insane. His NXT stuff is top tier as well. But Lucha Underground… my goodness. The characters, the stories and the insane accuracy and precision in ring was out of this world

In Lucha Underground his job was to put on a mask and stand there and try to look cool while Konnan did 100% of the work to build the Prince Puma character. He's a white guy from Kentucky, not an Aztec warrior, so all credit to his "character" in LU goes to Konnan. That said, Ricochet is incredible in ring and I enjoy his matches, he's also incredible at selling and is on par with the likes of Dolph Ziggler at making his opponents look like a million bucks. Unfortunately, somebody like Vince McMahon sees that particular skill and wants to book you to lose as often as possible.

ECW's take on women in wrestling was 'Is this domestic violence? Who gives a shit, she's half naked!' People wonder why there were so many sexual abuse, assault, and adultery cases. Everyone from Ric Flair to Vince McMahon fell into those trappings, and it's just indicative of how terrible those choices were 🤷

Whoever dethrones Roman needs to be someone who'll be there 10 years from now. At this point it's like the Undertaker's streak, somewhat, you need to give it to someone who will be "the next Roman" basically. Granted I still have mixed feelings about Undertaker losing his streak, but they turned that into gold with Brock being the biggest thing for almost a decade. It doesn't make sense to give it to The Rock cause he's just gonna drop it the next PPV or keep the title hostage for another 6 months like Roman's been doing and not defend it at all.

That's why it made total sense to go with Cody, he's there every week and you could've given Roman his time off and re-feud with Cody when he returned, but they fumbled it. Tbh right now, Solo is probably the best choice imo but they have to solidify him as a main eventer before. He's already beat Cena, which is great, but hasn't really done anything since.

AEW forced WWE to do better storylines and treat wrestlers better I had got to the point I was enjoying Impact wrestling more then WWE and was only watching highlights from WWE. WWE wouldn't have died but it needed a kick in the ass to do better. AEW will never pass WWE but they don't need to if Tony would focus more on just AEW/ROH and not the sports teams or fighting a imaginary fight with WWE it would be much better or if he gave up some control on booking.

The brand split take has nothing to do with him winning titles on both shows. Its widely known that when the original brand split happened all the top guys were going to raw. Paul Heyman specifically went for guys like edge, Eddie, kurt, and Benoit to make smackdown stand out. Edge credits smackdown for taking that risk on him and helping him get over.

I agree on the MJF thing. The reason he would flop in WWE is because his promos are too one-dimensional. If he keeps the schtick where he's "The best ever" and whatnot, people won't believe it unless he's truly given that spot as the best in the company. My hottest take is that wrestling's most underrated wrestler is Marko Stunt - and it's not even close. Don't get me wrong, he's not the GOAT. Hot take - thinking the pipe bomb promo was revolutionary is just showing your age. Worked shoots have been done multiple times before, both awfully (anything Russo did in WCW but especially Bash at the Beach) and wonderfully (Austin and Pillman in ECW)
