This is a reaction/comparison/review of Tim Hardin performing the original version of "It'll Never Happen Again" that he wrote followed by a cover done by Johnny Rivers in 1967. Tim recorded his take of the song in 1965 and released it on his album "Tim Hardin 1" in 1966. Tim giving the song a simplistic folk style on the instrmentals with added strings by the producer. Tim sings the song with true conviction.
Johnny Rivers keeps the feel of the song but layers sounds of instruments and vocals to give the song a full sounding pop sensation. Johnny sings with such a sweet voice but delivers the message of the song with the same heartbreaking resonance.
Both versions appear to justify the ending of a relationship! Enjoy ...
