Reaction: Death Battle: Pokemon VS Digimon

Honestly, they gave Charizard every advantage they could, and they scaled Greymon down as much as possible just to make this fight fair. 1. They gave Charizard more than 4 moves, allowed the use of the environment to do elemental damage, and didn't allow the environment to have any negative repercussions for Charizard - not even the water did damage. 2. They made Greymon twice as big as Charizard, which would've made Greymon about 12 ft. it's 40 ft. Greymon would've dwarfed Charizard and this wasn't represented, acting like any of Charizards attacks were even mildly effective would be like suggesting a mouse is a good match-up for a tiger. Furthermore, they made Greymon stationary for the fight, it tanked attacks from Charizard though it's more than capable of dodging attacks. Then, they made Charizard much faster, he never displayed that much speed in the anime. 3. They made Greymon appear quite dull, Greymon are incredible intelligent, and will strategise without human interaction. There's a whole society of them that live on an island peacefully. 4. They allowed Charizard to get attacks in on Wargreymon (they also made Wargreymon the same size as Charizard, instead of twice as big (10 ft.)), as if it would happen, it's said to be able to be "impossible to beat with an ultimate Digimon", let me remind you that some Ultimate Digimon are terrifying giants that rain death and destruction, we're talking obliterate you in a column of light powerful. 5. He's made of god-damn make-shit-up-ium (Chrome Digizoid), but he can destroy make-shit-up-ium - he's completely logic defying. Do you think a beast that can rip open a giant sea monster made of make-shit-up-ium, hardest metal in the universe, with blades of make-shit-up-ium, can be matched with.. Claws. "Tough claws". 6. Metal Greymon would've been enough, he shoots nukes out of his nipples, nuclear bombs. The thing that levels cities, and destroys all life within its reach. 7. Wargreymon levels shit with Terraforce, it's the attack he used to defeat Venomyotismon, a monster who is like three times as tall as the skyline and consumes Digimon. We're talking using the energy of the planet as an attack vs. fire. A super-mega-nuke made of magic energy is going to do more than just tear up a little bit of land like you saw, it would plow through whole cities. Short end of it all, Digimon are vastly, vastly more powerful than Pokemon. The power levels are not comparable, this fight was one-sided from the start. If Charizard wasn't getting a leg up, and Greymon wasn't getting a downgrade, then Greymon would've won very easily. Quite honestly, the fight should've never happened, or at the very least, they should've put the best Pokemon possible up to the task - Charizard isn't going to cut it.

A REASON why Tai hit Red was because its about life and death for him. You see, in pokemon universe, battle is like a *sport* , while in digimon universe, battle is *survival* . you either kill or die. He didn't hit him so he could take advantages of it, it was more like a warning, "Before my Wargreymon kills your dragon, back off" kind of shit. So, the guy on the right hates Digimon because he sees it as a rival to Pokémon and loves Pokémon? There is such a thing as not being childish and biased, being able to like both. It's as bad as Marvel and DC fans feeling the need to pick a side, rather than enjoy both (which for those who do, they're frequently torn into because of it). I love the Pokémon games but the anime rarely has any substance to it. Whereas, the Digimon games are fairly bad but the anime tells a proper story and has more deep themes involved in it. Also, Digimon are totally stronger than most Pokémon because of how they operate.

X-Maverick I guess but I was talking in terms of the franchises. They both have positives and negatives, though one is stronger when it comes to anime, while the others have the strongest games. I'd say that kinda puts them level. When it came to Death Battle, knowing both franchises so well, I knew Digimon would have to win - their power and ability is off the charts, in comparison to Pokémon.

Heck even Graymon should have been enough. For one they scaled him wayyy down here. He is at least 3 times bigger than shown here and 6 times taller than Charizard. That's like an elephant against a tiger. No matter how strong a tiger is they know not to mess with creatures that can crush them with ease like a fly. Plus Greymon is preety independent and intelligent, unlike pokemon. He barely showcased that here and acted preety dumbly.

I personally like both Digimon and Pokemon. I also find it rather stupid that people compare the two, as when you take a closer look, they really have very little in common at all. But simply because Digimon resembles Pokemon people just assume it's an inferior Pokemon rip-off. Digimon is actually a very interesting series with well-rounded characters and stories that keep you invested in the plot. In short, pokémon has the better games, but Digimon has the better anime.

JTundra I personally hated this battle, not because Charizard lost. I can completely agree that Wargreymon was stronger than Charizard even though I don’t like digimon. If Charizard has died because he was weak that would be fine. It’s the fact that Tai (I dunno how to spell his name soz) interfered with Red which meant Charizard couldn’t fight. That to me says Wargreymon only won because Charizard couldn’t fight instead of Wargreymon won because he was stronger. But that’s just my opinion :)

Pokemon games > Digimon games But Digimon anime > Pokemon anime Seriously, it's the story of "a 10 year old kid that never ages, captures pokemon, challenges gyms and the pokemon league, and repeats the same old routine every season" VS "an actually competent storytelling with emotional payoffs and character developments". OR to put it simply, "a kids show" VS "not really a kids show". Oh, and I am of course talking about the original japanese digimon, and if they've watched the dubbed digimon I seriously don't blame them for hating it. The digimon dub sucks...

Cool vid guys, i love both series but the powers levels are way off, charizard x had no chance against metalgreymon, so wargrey was a little overkill there. Maybe wargrey vs a legendary poke would had been better choice, at least to be close in power. You should give digimon a try (with subs) they go for the kill there unlike poke.

Well they wanted two of the iconic characters from digimon and pokemon to fight at their maximum potential. A digimon's mega is far beyond powerful enough to stop all legendary pokemon at once.

Digimons are comparable to the servants of the *fate* series...they dont need orders from a certain human and they also have there own signature move that only they can do...just like digimons and digimon has better plot than pokemon since its an *isekai* series.

satomi aka ash is way better than red...say what you will but the digimon show is better and the pokemon games are slightly better... but digimon at least has a story...they fight to the death and the humans can die too at any moment yet risk their lifes just to help out in fights...the series is about connecting uniting to fight evil...it isnt about one on one controlled battles to hurt innocent friends for no reason other than sport...pokemon promotes slavery....they trap these peaceful creatures who are minding their own business into little balls and force them to kill each other...and they dont let them out that much other than to fight..and if you have to feed them then what happens when they die in your ball.....how do you let them out...why does ash favor pikachu and let it walk around and come with him....why cant all his pokemon walk around with him...he wouldnt do that if pikachu was a bigger pokemon...what if you forget to feed your pokemon.....its controlled cock fighting for kids...digimon is more about saving another world cause all life matters...even data...everyones equal..they arent pets...they are living creatures like humans...the digimon need the kids to evolve to save the world from evil and we need them to protect both worlds.....its one thing if pokemons premise was about having to collect pokemon to just battle the evil team rocket who do the same and want to hurt the world and thats it...it isnt... in the pokemon world they promote battling and leaving home at age 10 on dangerous journeys lol...its bad fiction...at least digimon tried to make sense...digimon do die in the series...and so do people actually....innocent people...the pokemon anime never shows death....team rocket gets hurt daily but never dies...and I always liked how it was 1 digimon who was waiting a long time for one specific kid cause of a bond from birth...you didnt get to chose your favorites...destiny chose that for you...you get one special partner who depends on you and is bonded to you before you even had a battle or before you even met.... you don't capture digimon, you go to them on your own through fate...and find them yourself cause they are waiting for you...and I liked how the concept of digimon was not in the real world and how it was only the kids who knew about it...although when the digimon left the digi world and came into the real world it kind of ruined that theme of protecting another world as it became about saving 2 worlds even though it started out about saving another world and they didnt know about it until after they went to the other world first...

Sorry guys...our boys died...sad thing is I actually agree Digimon would win. Was also a fan. Also, the whole slave thing is debatable depending on the media. Anime was mostly friendship, Games are definitely power and strategy unless you count Return and Frustration's power, and the manga was a combo of both.

It is ridiculous! I've watched both Pokemon and Digimon...sadly, Charizard should have just stayed in the water. This death battle had two problems however: 1. Wargreymon is nerfed in this one, but only so that this death battle could be more enjoyable. Wargreymon is too deadly and has taken down much more giant and powerful opponents before. Legendary Pokemon does not compare. 2. Charizard has more than 4 moves: Rock Smash, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Dragon Claw, Flare Blitz, Mega Punch, and Blast Burn. I guess it's excusable though since they're trying to show off Charizard's maximum potential.
