The truth is, for Sora and Pit, they severely nerfed both of them. Pit more so than Sora, buuuut, even with that, had they not been nerfed, Sora still would have won. It just would have been a closer fight, due to many factors that they didn't take into account.

They try to calculate the limits of the characters, but they have feats that far exceed the feats they showed here, especially with Pit. Buuuut, none of said feats would have calculated enough to make a difference to Sora's feats, especially since they also nerfed Sora. So, the same result would have happened. But, it'd be a more even fight.

The anime parts from their analysis on Pit, along with the videos of the 3-D animated shorts with Pit fighting against Thanatos (Parts 1 & 2), was from the “Kid Icarus” short episodes from the Nintendo Video app on the Nintendo 3DS (they already took that down about a couple years ago) when “Kid Icarus: Uprising” was first released on the 3DS. And also, when they showed the clip of Pit fighting against Link, that was from the character trailer gameplay video for Palutena as a newcomer on Super Smash Bros. 4 (Wii U / 3DS).

True it was but let’s be honest about what we notice, they gave Sora all his powers and the best blade. when you look at what they gave pit you see they gave him the most basic of his gear except for the palutena Bow when he has plenty of highly powerful and destructive tools like the zodiac weapons or boss weapons. Such as the Kraken Arm, Magnus Club Aquarius Blade and others his arsenal is just advanced enough they just decided not to give him any of his good shit and just opted for the basics
