I really enjoyed that reaction and I am glad you stuck to the song that was recommended. Now you see the real talent this band has, especially Asami, MIdori, and Miyako. There is no reason this band can't be considered among the best, short of them not continuing on. But I truly feel they will continue on for several reasons - the band has been extremely successful and I think the band members realize they have something special going on, but mainly I feel they will continue is because they have repeatedly said they will, and are currently posting photos of the four of them together hanging out. So you can see the unity and friendship and togetherness they have built up. Lovebites is truly a special band. I hope they can resume touring so the rest of the world will discover them.

And now to fill the position of Princess Miho you have their new Bassist Princess Fami, who in my opinion not only was the perfect choice to fill the position of Bassist left vacant after Miho left the band, but also adds a heavier/chunkier sound that reminds me a bit of Bolt Thrower, but still paying homage to her predecessor Miho and also adding her own unique style/sound/talent into the mix. Just my own personal opinion anyway.

Refreshing to hear a new reactor to Lovebites give credit to Asami, for singing in English. Some of the comments from other new English as a first language, reactors are unbelievable. When I am in the correct mood, I politely tell them, especially those claiming to be musicians, to form a rock group to the level of Lovebites and perform an hour and a half set singing every song in Japanese. Another favourite criticism is the Lovebites lady's don't move around much. My response is it is amazing they can play at all with the accuracy and technical ability live on stage, let alone run around like Angus Young. Swan Song, is a good example of my point. To see them move around more have a look at Raise Some Hell: kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJLQhIR6Za-IfM0&ab_channel=Dem%C3%B3filoBen%C3%ADtez An example of the diversity Lovebites bring with their songs, have a look at Edge Of The World: kzbin.info/www/bejne/i4vNqYCgd9Sjbdk&ab_channel=Hadesillo A homage in my view to 1970's progressive rock.

as an nightwish die hard fan, and so used to an Emppu merely can stand Still, and ( may he have all the Luck on Hiatus he deserve) Marco playing Bass as an God, singing at the Same Time, and of course Floor always interpreting her Singing with Moves and Gesture and all interact with the Crowd... i absolutely be comfortable with the Ladies not hopping Around or try desperairtly to interact with another, i think i would not take that as authentic. they concentrate on their Musicianship, and i am sure the crowd feels that and the positive feedback from the turk gets back on stage to the ladies. stereotypes are, well just that. and they are just so good in what they do, hampling around....no thanks:)

Thanks for coming back to Lovebites so quickly. Miyako's feet may have been hurting, but she is already known and beloved for her so-called "stone face"--she lets her guitar do the talking. As you said this was a two hour concert, and they turned on the afterburners in the last part of it. I suggest you get the concert DVD--after Roy Orbison's "Black and White Night", I think it's the greatest concert film ever made. Available from Amazon Japan, CD Japan or through the Band's website.

When you see them it's something like this- they come on the stage like a small dragons who burn the stage and the venue, take your breath and in the end left you speechless and questioning your self- am I witness this right now. I can recommend another song to see the other face of the band please check the song Epilogue. Enjoy it.

I am glad you have discovered Japanese rock and metal. I have been listening to rock/metal for over 50 years now and with the exception of Maximum the Hormone, had never listened to Japanese bands. That changed less than two years ago when I took a deep dive listening to many, many Japanese bands. Only three Japanese bands have the music, musicianship and charisma that keeps me listening and wanting to see them live. The three bands are Band-Maid, Lovebites and Nemophila. They just happen to all be all-female bands. They are among only five all-female bands I listen regularly, the other two being Nervosa and The Warning. Band-Maid has already announced they are coming back to the United States this year. I hope Lovebites and Nemophila make their first trips to the United States this year or next year. They will have one very happy old guy in the audience.

Great reaction dude. Musical knowledge is obvious. Only bad thing about this video is stopping at M & M solo. Never interrupt solo from these two who are showing everyone how its done. The Wolfpack is making metal beautiful again. You will see that after reacting to some ballads and some more relaxed and slower songs but still technical and very well played, especially live. Diversity and talent that these girls have can be measured with Nightwish. For me, those are two best metal bands in the world right now no matter the genre

Thanks for more LOVEBITES! Since you do 30 minute vids anyway, how about the full ENCORE from 2020's "Five of a Kind" concert? kzbin.info/www/bejne/paWti4OLeNysha8 (20 minutes total) Miyako's instrumental pre-recorded intro, "The Awakening" into "The Hammer of Wrath" followed by 'prog' "Edge of the World" with near segue into "We The United". The last 2 have [cc] (recommended until you get familiar with Asami's voice). This is a nearly full example of their eclectic genre of music, though is missing some Hard Rock, and though it has piano from Miyako, it lacks her Classical excerpts like Rachmaninoff & Chopin that can be found on "Empty Daydream" kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc and the intro and outro to "Swan Song" kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y also with [cc] lyrics.

Some suggestions for the Japanese metal band rabbit hole, besides Band Maid and BabyMetal (because everyone checks them out): Nemophila - either Dissension or their newest one Revive (all female band) Hanabie - We Love Sweets (All Female) This band just released their first full length album, they had only released small LP's up till now. Maximum The Hormone - A.L.I.E.N. (mixed band female drummer the rest are guys) This band gets compaired to System Of A Down, multiple time and key changes in the same song. Galneryus - Angel of Salvation (all male) HEAVY Neo-classical vibe with this band. Think if Yngwie Malmsteen's ego let him play with an actual band.

Eric, you have great breakdown and examples that are comparable. Thinnest album I heard was 'Sack Blabbath' shouldn't have been 'Born Again'. Gillan also wasn't a fit. When Ozzy was with Sabbath his voice was thin too. We still love Ozzy and his music as well as Gillan. Greatest twin guitar attacks/harmony, Skynyrd, Thin Lizzy, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest. Miyako and Midori (MakoDori) can play lead and rhythm. They are able to support one another, take the spotlight and then harmonize. Now let's talk about the harmonization. Most harmonization is slower parts of the solo. MakoDori shred during their harmonies including using two hand tapping. Where are they in the pantheon of guitar duos? Thunder Vengeance show cases their individual skills. Midori playing a demented solo and then shredding. Miyako's end solo proves she is a master of the wah pedals. She is alos the Queen of bends. And that baby will be metal all the way. Asami got married and also became a Mom while they were on their Hiatus. Asami uses her diaphragm to project and volumize with great control of her voice including vibrato. She knows how to shape the sound. Does anyone drive a band as a drummer like Haruna (Harupi)? For someone who is 4'9" she has power, speed, accuracy and endurance. The "Little Big Engine." Miho will be missed but will always be the biggest part of Lovebites having been the founder. She doesn't get the credit as a bass player because she allowed the other members the spotlight. She is a great bass player. Miho and Haruna definitely drove and set the tone.

You are not the first one who is saying that their guitar is tuned differently, they are not they are one half of their songs both playing in standard tuning and on the other half have their E strings downtuned to D, they just playing i harmony..When you see Midori plays the purple/ blue E-II Horizon then it is in standard tuning and if she is playing the black one the bass string is tuned to D, on the tunes where they are downtuned Miyako is playing the Dean ML and if they play in standard tuning , just any other of her guitars Just for the sake of it, lets say the song is in A minor, the first player plays an A , at the same time the other is playing an C, 1:st player the plays an C the other is playing an E, and so on.... I graduated high school in 1982, so I was there, front row for the glory years of hard rock and metal. The era of the guitar god ended in the early to mid 90'a due to a lack of talent, and as he said, music companies wanted to get to the chorus as fast as possible. This more canned style of music took any and all expression from the real musicians. The grunge bands that came out in the 90's was the end for great bands as being commercially viable. To rock/metal fans of the 70's and 80's, those bands sounded like bad garage bands that would be lucky to get a gig at their local VFW or high school. Along with the guitar gods leaving, the era of clean vocalist also left the rock/metal world. When this change happened, I didn't by any music CDs for decades. I still pay little to no attention to Western music. Japan is killing it with rock and metal, and South Korea is killing it in the pop genre. It is interesting to see comments in some KZbin videos. When I look at old school 80's metal videos, there are lots of young people asking, "What happened? Why do we not have music like this today."? The same with Kpop videos. When people see them for the first time, they as "Why don't we have anything like this here, they are so much better than our pop stars." It is a sad day for Western music.

I am not sure if that look is her feet hurting or if the musical savant is composing and arranging the new song for the band in her head while playing a wicked metal song. These ladies will never disappoint so pick anything but to really get the total package I recommend Rising LIVE (kzbin.info/www/bejne/a323Xoqee6ymhqc) it has it all including Miyako on piano and sliding like lightning back on guitar. Asami has no opera training that i know of (was a ballerina student) but she was a RnB/Jazz/Soul backup singer which makes her transformation even more remarkable. Here is proof Asami singing a cover of If I Ain't Got You LIVE in a small dark jazz club/bar (kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmK5kKZmm896pdE) she learned her craft the old fashion way she sang till she got great and wasn't created in a studio with software enhancements she could never duplicate on her own LIVE. Asami writes almost all the lyrics for the group with help and input at times but her positive and uplifting spirit is all over this band!!!!

You said that real metal bands have two guitars. Are you really saying that you can't have a great metal band with only one guitar, I'm sure there have been bands that had only one guitar or none, but replaced them with other instruments and made it work. I don't remember how many guitars Unlucky Morpheus has, but it has an instrument that most people wouldn't think of metal when it's mentioned. If you are familiar with them then you already know what it is, if you aren't you are unlikely to guess, at least not seriously. I grew up in Utah, but only very recently found out that the electric guitar was invited here. I heard as a kid that the television was invited here. But here are some others that you might have encountered sometime in your life, some hopefully indirectly. Headphones, the Frisbee, the Zamboni, the DVD, the first permanent artificial heart, hearing aids, car stereo, interactive graphics program, the first video game, stereophonic recording, computer animation technologies, word processing software, computer animation technologies, the first electric traffic light, hifi speakers, Colt .45 and Browning repeating rifle, and the odometer was invented by the pioneers on the way to what later became Utah, so they could tell others the distance they had to travel. But Utah is a low population state, less than half the population of New York City, so it couldn't be expected to have a great impact on the world.

Thank you for the comment!! Twin Guitars is more of a signature/stereotype than requirement. There are a lot of bands who only use 1 guitar and are great, as there are bands with twin guitars that aren't too great. I worked with a dude who did nights at a rock station in Utah. Can't remember where exactly, but he said it was a big resort/ski town. And if I ever do come to SLC/Utah, now I know who to call to show me around!! Thanks again for the time and attention and take care! Cheers! Eric

I spent most of the 80's in metal bands, playing local club shows all around Texas. Played with both one and two guitarist. For metal, two guitarist just sounds better. There is a certain crunch that fills out the sound. This is usually lost with one guitarist....at least live. In the studio, they can record as many guitar tracks as they want to fill in that sound. The most difficult part about having two lead guitarist in the same band is managing the egos that come with them. It is probably less of an issue within an all female band.

@@rednab2001 Great insight and spot on!! I think every band is hanging by threads of ego, regardless of instrument, but yeah, the Axemen usually have to have that ego to be that type of artist. The more ego you add to an already fragile mix, the harder it is to manage. I've always said the hardest part of fame on any level is managing your own ego and not to buy into your own bulls**t. I live in Nashville. Lots of ego here on every level of media/entertainment. But the plus side to that is, knowing all this talent lives here puts you in a position to bring it every time, so it keeps you on your toes! Even in radio, there's 1000 people ready to take the gig. Thanks for the words! Cheers! Eric

@@TheWyldesidewithEricClark I did my share of radio work with AFRTS while serving in the Navy. When I was a musician, I was playing with a teen-age guitar wizard/Yngwie clone on one side of me, and on the other, I had a guitarist that trained at MIT in LA. His guitar tutor was Paul Gilbert. That was two mountain sized egos to try and balance.

@@rednab2001 Pretty solid tutelage!! The ego I deal with is the "I know more obscure music than you do" flex. I usually reply with "Yeah, my phone has Google too." and move on. Or the listener who are absolute scholars of a band you're remedial with and therefore think they can do your job better. Usually by the time folks have been fire enough times they figure it out...usually.
