The Goddesses of Metal!! Asami is the female Bruce Dickinson. Midori and Miyako are one of the best twin guitar duos you’ll ever see. Haruna is the little big engine. She goes hard for 2 hours!! Miho is a beast. These ladies are spectacular. A band with 0 bad songs. You ain’t seen nothing yet!!! 🤘🏻🐺

Yeah thanks for your reaction. Lovebites are formed in Tokyo 2016th from ex Destrose band members Miho and Haruna. Miho has a new vision for the metal , and she share the idea with Haruna to make a new band. Both find the guitarists Midori and Miyako and after that all band found Asami ( she is the only person who never sing metal, she was R&b and jazz-soul singer that time). Lovebites are winners of Metal Hammer Golden gods awards 2018th for best new metal band ,their Electric pentagram album was nominated for one of the best 20 metal albums for 2020 year. The band compose all their music with help from Mao composer for another band, and Asami writes the lyrics. They've got around 50 songs and none of them is bad. Miho mentioned in interview before- we are here to make something memorable. And the band moto is- we are here not to be cute we are here to be heavy . You can pick any song and not gonna be disappointed. My suggestion is to check the song Awakening/Hammer of wrath. Also Set the world on fire which is from the same show Ride for vengeance from March 2021. Enjoy it.

Yes indeed, these women are extremely talented and exceptional and skillful musicians. Some say that they are redefining metal or that they are breaking the walls of stereotypes in the metal scene. I discovered this band almost two years ago and I’m still in owe. In five years they have composed 50+ great songs. They really shine in their live performances.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the number of young people who enjoy rock and metal music has plummeted around the world. However, it seems that the number of rock and metal lovers is increasing in Japan. (Especially the power of women is attracting attention.) What is the cause of the difference between what is happening in the West and what is happening in Japan? .. Doesn't it look like the world of rock and metal is now creating a closed world in Europe and America? .. Some people make the following claim: "Rock and metal should be done in a style like @@@@" Therefore, some people feel that the following styles are like rock and metal rules. "Tattoos, piercings, black clothes, menacing voices, hysterical screams, aggressive performances, intolerance to other genres of music ..." (I don't think these styles are bad in themselves. The problem is that they look like symbols that deny the free style of other music and performances.) As a result, don't you think young people are moving away from rocks and metals that look like a symbol of closed style? .. In Japan, rock and metal are recognized as "music where you can freely enjoy your favorite sounds in your favorite style". Most Japanese don't find it strange to sing hard rock in cute costumes or play metal in white clothes or high heels. The same is true for sound. In Japan, it's not uncommon to enjoy generous style songs where rock and metal merge with POP / R & B / folk and classical music. Japanese bands like WAGAKKIBAND / BABYMETAL / BAND-MAID / LOVEBITES / Nemophila / Unlucky-Morpheus / ONE-OK-ROCK .... have such "lots of free ideas". About 50 years ago, an explosion occurred in Manchester / Liverpool, England, and ignited all over the world. Why did young people around the world welcome the explosion? I think we need to think about the reason. I have lived as a Japanese for over 70 years. I've been worried about the world of rock in the last 10-20 years. However, I am hopeful about the recent situation in Japan. * This is a sentence using a translation app. I hope that the intention is conveyed correctly.

From France: Some info about Lovebites ... Miho and Haruna were members of Destrose before creating Lovebites and Midori comes from a crazy trash-punk band: Gekijo Metallicche. For the concert in this video, the concert took place during the pandemic with health restrictions for the public. Otherwise on the other concerts of the group, the crowd is a real delirium ... This show was recorded in March 2021, there were heavy restrictions on the crowd, only clapping was allowed, no screaming, chanting or cheering. Also because of social distancing crowd capacity was at half. LOVEBITES - Thunder Vengeance lyrics: Gods of vengeance Standing in the nightmare The peal of thunder broke me and more When losing my eye The days will pass before me A faded memory of what used to be Death by oblivion (Do it) Deadly criterion (Do it) Flames of despair burning My blood is boiling inside me Death by oblivion (Do it) Deadly criterion (Do it) Inner enraged demon is becoming me Here come days of revenge Until the day the light can reach into my blind eye Lost in the rage These scars are here to tell me that I’m still alive Into the blackness Don’t reveal weakness Hiding my curses, pay off an old grudge Forgotten feelings, other than resentment Don’t even mind giving others pain Damn the redemption (Do it) Drowning confusion (Do it) Doom filled with righteous indignation Where’s my salvation? Damn the redemption (Do it) Drowning confusion (Do it) Does my life have meaning? Am I a speck of dust? I’ve got blood on my hands I want to claw and tear you, rip apart your name Die in the sands Your sins will never be erased or washed away Beaten down but the hatred’s growing Rotten pain that is never healing Only I can end my suffering I won’t kneel down because of yesterday Gods of vengeance Standing in the nightmare The peal of thunder broke me and more When losing my eye The days will pass before me A faded memory of what used to be Death by oblivion (Do it) Deadly criterion (Do it) Flames of despair burning My blood is boiling inside me Death by oblivion (Do it) Deadly criterion (Do it) Inner enraged demon is becoming me Here come days of revenge Until the day the light can reach into my blind eye Lost in the rage These scars are here to tell me that I’m still alive Blood on my hands I want to claw and tear you, rip apart your name Die in the sands Your sins will never be erased or washed away ----- lyrics: miho music: miho & Mao arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami)

Great to see a reaction from a veteran music person. Some of what follows will be obvious to you, and some is just my opinion, but there is also a bit of history and a bunch of links. Welcome to the best new metal band to come along in decades. In their five years of existence as a band, they set a standard that easily puts them on a par with the great bands of metal’s golden age. Other reviewers have described them as alien superheroes disguised as young women, angels sent to save us, princesses of metal, and angry bridesmaids. Whatever the description, I think one can say they have given metal a badly needed makeover and maybe a new lease on life. They have themselves said that part of their mission is to save heavy metal from darkness and obscurity. Some background: They were formed in 2016 from the remnants of a legendary all-girl Japanese metal band called Destrose (yes, all-girl metal has been a thing in Japan since at least 1981). Miho (bass, chief headbanger and soul of the band) had a vision of a new band in the style of the greatest European bands of the golden age of metal. She recruited her former bandmate Haruna (drums, 4'9" “pocket nuclear reactor”); they needed two world-class guitarists, and so they went and found Midori and Miyako, who were with other bands. The whole group then found Asami, the singer, who was doing soul and blues at the time (she also trained in ballet). Miyako has composed most of their music, with Miho composing a lot of their thrashier songs in collaboration with Mao, the lead composer of another band called Lightbringer. Midori has also been getting into the act, and they regularly perform a song written by Haruna as well. Asami writes most of the lyrics. They studied all the great historical metal bands going back to Purple and Sabbath, through Maiden, Priest, Metallica, Helloween, Slayer etc. They toured with Dragonforce in 2019, and word from those in attendance is that next time around, it will be the ladies headlining. They have incorporated some of the best of each of those bands into their arsenal, and have created a sound that is fresh and cutting edge while paying tribute to the old masters. This is a thrasher but far from the most technical stuff they do. They do everything from soulful power ballads to heavy thrash. Almost every song includes face-melting solos by Miyako and Midori. The two guitarists are quite different in style and tone. Midori (blonde ponytail) is the extrovert and speed demon; Miyako is the introvert, with the more soulful feel (though she can also shred like a demon). Midori uses a cleaner tone, Miyako uses more distortion, pinch harmonics and pedal effects. The contrast makes their duets rich and dynamic. It doesn’t hurt that either one can smoke most of the shredders in the classic metal bands. As another reviewer said, "It seems criminal these two are allowed to be in the same band." They are one of those rare bands that sound perfect live. Here are more you should definitely check out: Their most recently posted live clips, “Set the World on Fire” kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2rdpHtsnqySbMU and “Don’t Bite the Dust” kzbin.info/www/bejne/pXnRfHp7n5Z2g8U, which are both from their recently released concert DVD “Heavy Metal Never Dies”. "Edge of the World" and "We the United", back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZ2TXohjrtB9ebc They form an incredible journey from darkness and despair to light and hope. Also, “Empty Daydream”, which starts as a ballad and becomes a real rocker: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oonLkKiDgp5noLc; “Holy War”: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mJikqaN7paqWpNE Miyako is also a professional-level classical concert pianist, and was headed for a career in classical music, before picking up the guitar. If you want to see what she can do on the piano, watch “Swan Song” WITH the prelude, which is Chopin’s “Revolutionary Etude”. Miyako wrote “Swan Song” using elements from several classical pieces including the Etude. This link should work: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jXPLpaSdnr14d5Y; but if it is taken down, you can watch two clips back to back: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWlm5yHfp6Wr8U and kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3bWdop_iMhrh5I I promise, it’s worth it. For a thrasher with heavy Metallica vibes, “Break the Wall” kzbin.info/www/bejne/fWGVYpSGZ8aibLs includes two gorgeous and completely contrasting solos by M&M. For a heart-stopping ballad, “Epilogue” kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z6rRn4t6m6qhpLs (this includes a second song, your choice whether or not to react to both) Finally, while you will sometimes hear you should only react to live clips, actually their MV’s are epic and worth seeing. Here are three of the most spectacular: "When Destinies Align" kzbin.info/www/bejne/nn2plp9_bpiJoa8 "Glory to the World" kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6itpXdojaqLfpY "Winds of Transylvania" kzbin.info/www/bejne/fqSoZYiYlLWdnpo. You'll get lots of suggestions, just one thing: don't bother with Bloodstock footage, the sound quality is poor. Best to take suggestions with actual links. Also, you can’t go wrong with any of their official clips. Welcome to the Wolf-Pack!

Wow, thank you so much!! I have noticed the incredible input the fanbase has been giving me and the video isn't even that old! I try to write everything down, but I'd rather just aimlessly wander around fully aware that regardless of which video I select, the quality will be unmatched. I can hear all the influence without any imitation and that is very impressive. Normally you hear straight riff rips with some minor changes to time or additional slides. But they do a great job of taking what was and making it what is without any cheapness or laziness. The talent level of these musicians is off the charts. Thank you again for taking the time and effort to comment and I look forward to my journey! Cheers! Eric

Thank you for the comment and compliment!! And I'm still recovering from a virus so I'm a bit off right now. My brother is the one who started this all with Band-Maid. The only reason I haven't done a reaction vid for them is because I've watched some and try to be as "new" as possible to these. I started studying, seriously, rock music when I was a child. Reading, listening, and watching as much as I could. Just loved the whole scene, never thinking I'd work around it. Later someone heard me speak and saw how much I knew and offered me a job on a radio station!! I was literally discovered waiting tables. After 30 years I'm still thirsty for new sounds so I'm always looking to learn. This has been a great journey so far and I know I've only scratched the surface!! Impressive video. Lovebites are indeed very much influenced by classic metal bands such as Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Helloween, Slayer and the likes. Thunder Vengeance is great and the title is super metal, no doubt. But they have far more impressive songs on a technical and compositional level. These ladies are extremely proficient musicians. Listen to Golden Destination and The Crusade for the best Iron Maiden songs not by Iron Maiden. Or A Frozen Serenade, which is simply beautiful. So is Epilogue. Set the World on Fire and Break the Wall are very intense. There is a lot to explore. Also this concert was held under pandemic restrictions, so the audience wasn't allowed to go absolutely crazy. Other than Lovebites I would recommend checking out Galneryus and Unlucky Morpheus. Two other once again highly proficient Japanese metal bands I really like. Keep up the great work.

Thank you for the comment and the information! My main reason for selecting that song is simply because I thought it sounded cool. I am finding an extreme level of skill with metal coming from Japan over the past decade and have enjoyed just scratching the surface. I go into these as dumb as possible so I can hear it with as much innocence as possible, if that makes sense. I can learn more about the band later. Without a doubt, this is metal. Straight forward metal and high quality. I'll continue to dig deeper and I thank you for taking the time to help me find other rivulets to explore! Cheers! Eric

You chose … wisely. Completely right about Japanese metal audiences, but this was compounded by covid restrictions: every other seat, and No screaming allowed, just under one year ago. Can’t go wrong, esp their days-before-covid live album “Five of a Kind” winter 2020 Tokyo @ “Zepp DiverCity”. And it’s ok to call this thrash, absolutely maiden, but also 80s Metallica, testament, slayer. And they have hard rock songs that are definitely priest. Stated influences: Steve Harris, Helloween drums, Angra (Brazil Powermetal), Metallica, and Halford/Halestorm/SoulfulR&B?!, yes, Asami can sing. Try prog “sneaky metal” Edge of the World, and hard rockers Raise some hell or dancing with the Devil (research lyrics, or CC. They’re always in English, but metal scream vocals?, often difficult to decipher epic lyrics anyway…) Edge of the World (doublecheck copyright) kzbin.info/www/bejne/g5rShquBirBreJo Raise some hell (copyright?) kzbin.info/www/bejne/sJLQhIR6Za-IfM0 Dancing with the Devil official (so copyright prob ok demonitized?) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHa4gJ2mn86pY6s Love the Scorps/accept references, legit 😉 They actually did a great job marketing, very prolific. First release mid 2017, first headline (which happened to be around the world with their international stated target audience, London) late 2017, yet five of a kind is like their 4-5-6th? live release (Bloodstock (bad sound, biggest audience), Wacken, & summer ‘18 battle in east, Daughters of the dawn (2019?), Donington (not released?), then 5oaK is nearly flawless, yet’d only been playing live 2.5years!! Three full length albums, but another 4-6 EPs and now 2 best-of’s while Asami honeymoons, Miyako breeds, and Miho finds herself…. Love these chicks, and yes JFeMetal kicks ass, and I’m not (usually) the fanboy type! Less metal, but respected and oft joined by metalers (w Sabre Tiger’s vocalist cover Rainbow & Battery, with ShowYa vocalist, join Nemophila, annually host BabyMetal guitarist’s BDay concert, footage of both bands doing Hellion/electric eye; oh, and their on/off side project with Fuki (100 vocal releases in 10years, singer of Lightbringer and now Unlucky Morpheus (speed violin metal)) is their most popular release to date, as Doll$Boxx), try Gacharic Spin. This year’s videos are weird yet typical, and slightly more popular. I’d ease you in with Mindset, tho they get weirder, more dance/synth, harder, more prog, depending on the breeze I guess. Great stuff. There is an English subtitled vid, but I’d go official. The video gives you the core point (tho the lyrics are even more clever.). Btw, the lineups are confusing, but this is near-latest. The singer is shown at 19, about 2.5 yrs after winning an audition… geeesh! Rock, and Japan, are crazy 💃🎸😎 kzbin.info/www/bejne/h56vYYlsa5yEsKs Or if you prefer to start live, a heavier, yet more intimate?!, with prog breakdown of course, reworking of their 2010 dance tune, influenced by brand new 17yr old frontchick Angie (stage name “Angelina 1/3”, since she’s 1/3 Japanese), I present to you, Juicy Beats live 2019 kzbin.info/www/bejne/poDFoYBjgrOjjM0

Miho and Haruna created this band inspired in european metal from the 80s, and they tried to find some of the best girl musicians in the japanese metal scene. At the same time, Asami, who had been a ballerina and a soul and r&b singer had recently done some collaboration with rock bands and was thinking on trying with rock. So she sent a demo tape to several labels. The girls lacked a singer, and they crossed paths with her tape. They interviewed her and she didn't even know what heavy metal was. But she was good, she learnt, and here it is, doing it great. I recommend you to check more of their stuff, they are not always going to this trash stuff. For more classic style power metal I'd recommend _Holy War._ More in the line of the power ballads, maybe check _Epilogue._ Some more similar thrashy stuff, _Set the World on Fire._

Great reaction, you have a new subscriber. I saw these supremely talented metal Princesses back in 2019 at the Roadmenders, Northampton, England when they were supporting Dragonforce and they blew my friends and I away. As you say you like the brilliant Lzzy Hale & Amy Lee & now Asami, then 100% you will love the best metal vocalist going(imo) in Floor Jansen, aka the Valkyrie Goddess she's from Holland in a Finnish Symphonic metal band and in this video they play at a German venue and she sings in English to 82,000+ fans. This track is their opener and her 1st major gig after becoming permanent 10 months earlier. Should you react to this Gabriel will be along shortly after with his list and loads of info, prepare for a deluge of the Nightwish Army from all over the World in your comments section🤘 > Nightwish - Dark Chest of Wonders (Wacken 2013) > video link if it helps > kzbin.info/www/bejne/haeydWmumsijnpY

Thanks for the Sub!! And I appreciate the suggestion for Nightwish. I'm getting deluged with suggestions and am doing my best to keep up with them. I don't want to limit my videos to any specific genre, so I am trying to spread them out over time while still showing respect to the OP's suggestions. But I am finding a very loyal fanbase for all the bands I've been reacting to and am overwhelmed with the help understanding something that is at least new to me. I've added Nightwish to my "Honey Do" list and will hopefully be able to jam one out for everyone. Thank you again very much for the comments and suggestions! Cheers! Eric

No matter which Lovebites song you choose to react to, you will not be disappointed. Lovebites have a way of weaving all sorts of metal styles into their songs but still have their own sound. You have already picked on this. Sadly Miho has left permanently. She and Haruna were the founding members of Lovebites. Not only is Miho a killer on her bass, she writes some of the songs and has a great stage presence. She will be very difficult to replace even though there will be a wealth of Japanese lady bass players to play the music, the other two skills will be harder to recapture with a new member.

Don´t forget Mexico! You HAVE to react to "The Warning" - 3 young sisters playing best Hard Rock / Classic Rock you can get nowadays. I highly recommend "Evolve" or "Choke" to start the journey. A god start would also be to listen to their version of Metallicas "Enter Sandman". Best you listen to both versions, the one when they were really young and the one from last year. Greetings from Germany!

Miho wrote this song after seeing a Slayer concert. Truthfully, when Asami is off stage she looks like she should be singing pop in the late 60's early 70's. She looks anything but metal. But get her on stage . . . . Woah! She's as metal as anyone. "We are Lovebites, and we play Heavy Meeeeetaaaaaal!" This is power metal, thrash metal, NWOBHM, progressive metal all combined to be best.

You just scratched the surface with LOVEBITES. If you want to see Midori and Miyako engage in un unforgettable guitar duel, then you need to watch Scream for Me during which there are about 16 guitar duel exchanges between them. The last minute or so is a shred fest where their guitars almost start smoking.

Are there any styles of metal that you don't like, like speed metal, death metal, screamo metal, trap metal ect.? Sometimes the light voices work perfectly with metal, as in the case of Babymetal. You should also check out the multiple short lived Ladybaby, they went way heavy.

I'm of the mindset, "If it rocks, it rocks." so I don't really subscribe to subgenres. In reality, Genres mean nothing to the listener. Regardless of what you call it, if it's good, it's good. There's good and bad within every type you mentioned. But also, it is personal preference. What I think is good Thrash, others may see as not so much. Babymetal is where all this started a few videos ago when my brother sent me a link. I do get overwhelmed sometimes with suggestions and try to get to them as efficiently as possible to pay my respect to those who took time to make the suggestion. And I'm getting a lot of input from a very massive fan base of many of these bands so they are flooding in both here and on SM as well. I appreciate the comment and suggestion and thank you for giving my video your time! Cheers! Eric

I am extremely disappointed that you chose Thunder Vengeance over Holy War as the first song, especially now that you seem to indicate you aren't going to react to any more of their songs. Holy War offers a much more impressive performance by these ladies and is why it was suggested to be the first song. I enjoyed your analysis though. The band needs your support right now so I hope you do more of them to help promote these talented young ladies. Do their song Set the World on Fire next. Avoid reacting to Bloodstock video footage because it has poor audio and misrepresents the band as a result.

call me stupid, but maybe you can explain to me something. i keep seeing people trying to react to music that they dont listen to. mostly having trouble understanding, why someone who has never listened to heavy metal, would want to react to. totally making all their fans angry, thereby bring a crap storm of negative comments. i like yor reactions because you know your music, and your also into metal.maybe it would work better if they tried to listen to a song first, that way they can enjoy their reactions.

Top J Rock .... Check out Band Maid Thrill This next ones not metal it's Kpop, before you laugh bear with me a few lines. Kpop has a fan base that is 80% early teen girls, but there are some groups that have broader appeal, these band have the most balance fan base nearly 50-50 male female, with more adult demographics, ie guys over 40. This first group Mamamoo has several songs you ,would like check out Mr Ambiguous, if you like that then check out Starry Night, and Egotistic. This second group called Ace of Angels, actually started as a all female band with a dance unit. Here are 3 songs you should check out Miniskirt the Music video their first hit, you're a guy you'll like it R & B. Second song to look at Still Falls the Rain, written by American singer songwriter. May you heard of him, he was famous back in the day... James Taylor, sound vaguely familiar. Bing Bing - Magic Themed video old school. Also add 9 Muses Gun, to describe the video. .. Michael Bay meets Dick Dale and his DelTones, if you know who DD is then you might like this song.
