Floor looks at Tuomas and Marko a few times when she sings Think of me long enough to make a memory. That's exactly what happened and I think Floor was very aware of it. Because they did think of her long enough to call her, and now she was making memories with them.

Did you notice that Floor barely made it to the mic on time? She had a bit of a 'wardrobe malfunction'! The song before this one was "Last Of The Wilds", and not having vocals, she took the opportunity to change costume. A zipper got stuck halfway! Not disastrous or potentially embarrassing, but she had to wait for the interlude in "Ghost Love Score", several songs later, to get help fixing it. She tends not to have full changes since, just putting jackets on and off and whatnot. Great reaction as always.

5:10 I said it before on this channel: most hard rock and metal bands have two guitar players. A rhythm guitar and a lead guitar. Nighwish has Emppu. And Emppu will deliver all your guitar needs as promised, while drinking a beer and engaging with the audience. This guy is MASSIVELY underrated, and I'm glad Eric does give him some respect. Emppu is a great guitarist, and Nightwish doesn't need more than one guitarist. Some bands are built around two guitars, but not Nightwish. Another band who couldn't work with more than one was Van Halen. Eddie was enough for the band, and they did a lot of complex, dense music combining guitars and keyboards, much like Nightwish does. On that matter, Troy is a good guitarist, but they don't really need him in that capacity. Much like Sammy Hagar was a good guitarist, but Van Halen didn't need him in that capacity.

Hi Eric. Thanks for reacting to one of my favourite Nightwish songs. I can’t really explain why, but it just speaks to me in so many ways. The intriguing spoken parts at the start and end of the song, the musical layering, the tones, the lyrics, the singing, the drive, the riffs… What Emppu brings to this song is so awesome. Nightwish can change singer, drummer anybody but not Emppu, he is the soul vibe of this band, Tuomas left hand. He has stayed with the band from the very start, and he doesn't want to be in any other spotlights than on the stage. This is one song that gives you the right groove of what Nightwish sound really is as it's best. Hopefully next album would have more of this sound.

Thanks for a good reaction! Solid mix of technical aspects and entertainment. The old Finnish stereotype is that only pretenders beat their own drum - for those who know their shit the results speak for themselves. And while younger generations are breaking the mold more and more, Tuomas and Emppu are not young and they certainly fit into this mindset. Emppu lives for the smiles of the Nightwish army and gets them plenty. My guess is he does not *want* to be in a cover of a magazine. Like Tuomas, he rather speaks through his music. Emppu does exactly what the song needs, not showoffs, but well, over the years the bar for those needs has gone up quite a lot. I just recently saw a virtual live performance where Emppu was playing the same or similar motifs on guitar than Tuomas had played on keys and Troy was playing on pipes. Which is what Tuomas often does, rotating the themes from one instrument to another. And boy, it looked like that part was *not* composed by a guitarist, his fingers went from one awkward position to another and did it fast. But that's Emppu - unless you look at the fingers you're not going to realize it's hard to play. He just does it perfectly and smiles the whole time.

Jukka is like a barely restrained tiger, just chewing at those drums, snarling and surging forward as he consumes the music. He is in a class of his own, and the drums truly sound a different tone with his wild but perfect heartbeat of each song. Everyone is a standout in various places in this song, although they mesh together harmoniously, not in a show-stealing way. Floor’s wordless vocals just add so much to this song, tying all the elements together and spiking the emotional connection to the music. Love the crescendos, then fade-outs to just her voice! Talk about comforting you, then pushing you down the stairs, just to scoop you up in her arms again! Brilliant song, tight analysis. Stellar example of the Nightwish magic.

(Too many) years ago, before the Anette-era, I was searching on KZbin for a clip from a movie I had seen. Every search I did never yielded the clip I was searching for, but I kept seeing a video for a song by some band called "Nightwish". Never heard of 'em (at that time), and at first glance, not my style, way too goth-looking and I wasn't into European bands, I was fairly domestic in my musical tastes. Every search, no clip, but there's that damned video again. WTF?! So finally I said what the hell and clicked on it. 🤯 WHO THE F**K IS NIGHTWISH!? I was hooked instantly, having never heard symphonic metal before, but it was the genre that I'd been unknowingly wanting to hear all this time. I started listening to their other songs and was a fan in no time, educating myself on the band history and members and drove my family nuts talking (RAVING) about them. What was the song? BLESS THE CHILD. The rest is history.

Shout out to Little Raven. This was a great Tarja song but it has to be said that Floor brings something extra - quite apart from being able to understand the lyrics. Excellent reaction and analysis from you again 👍. And I agree - mostly.... I believe you are missing the effect of Tuomas giving the others the responsibility of their own parts in the stories. Like - Tuomas sends the raw materials played on piano to the other. And then they often talk about the stories - sometimes in depth - and sometimes just overall, so they can add their own color and interpretation. (that why some melodies change dramatically, before they are recorded! - especially Marko and Troy has had some major influence on some songs/ melodies - not the lyrics). And Floor's interpretation, layers, chorus and emotions - are up to her. She often discusses the stories, with Tuomas - but she adds new perspectives and emotions in the stories - and Tuomas always accept this - because that's exactly what he wants people to do - think deeply about the lyrics, and interpret them individually. I believe this is why the band are so brilliant - it's Tuomas's ideas - but enhanced with all the others interpretations and emotions - add-ons.. Of course they have to be on the same mindset / level - and also be capable of adding something - but they truly are!! The respect of each other in this band are incredible - like Floor sending her solo material to Tuomas, to get his honest opinion - it says it all! And Tuomas creating 'impossible' lyrics, knowing that Floor will crack the code and blow him away. I Concur with Your analysis , I always think of this Song as a Nightwish Anthem it Starts out like the Opening Scene to call everyone to attention (Instruments, Spoken Words, Choir, Rythm, Tones, Vocals, Tones, Rythm, Choir, Spoken Words Instruments). This was written for "Tarja" her voice is darker it makes it more ethereal. Floor's version is brighter and Puncher. Both Versions are equal and different, I do not think they should be judged against each other, Just compared to the same song produced slightly different equal in talent and effort.

But Tarja version is definitely worth checking. It's significantly different and not worse. I have played the album version of this song (and the whole album) so much it's hard to hear Floor version as being 'right', but right now I feel this is one of the songs where Tarja has an edge. Sleeping Sun, Walking in the Air and Wishmaster might be the others.

The first song I 've ever heard of Nightwish... sang by Tarja on 2001... blew my mind... was a sound I didn't know I needed. Since that... became a fan of Nightwish. And of symphonic metal. Besides I love Floor, I prefer Tarja's version..more melancholic.... Long live to Nightwish 🤘🏻🖤

2/3rds through the set. 10th out of 15 songs. She had a wardrobe problem which caused her to just barely make it out for the start. I love Tuomas' spoken poetry at the beginning and end of the song. I love Kai, but do really miss Jukka's amazing flamboyant passionate drumming. Emppu is not appreciated enough for everything he brings to Nightwish. Wonderful to hear you express it so eloquently. Another fun suggestion is TRIBAL live at Hellfest, Floor in total command of another venue with a sea of people, and Kai absolutely goes off in this one at the end, love his drum parts in this song, this is the one where he had to add five extra drums to his kit in order to play what he wanted for this song, Thanks.
