Everything Freddie sang, he sang with 110% commitment. He was real!

Thanks for this great reaction! Freddie's singing is incomparable to other artists', they can have great voices, they can be great singers, but Freddie's charisma and emotions will always be missing from those performances. Quote from Freddie: "Someone will always be prettier. Someone will always be smarter. Someone will always be younger. But they never will be you."

You mentioned Freddie and his operatic voice. Want more, listen to Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe singing Barcelona, from the album Barcelona. It is amazing.

You picked my favorite live performance of this song! 🙂🙂🙂 You out to check out the official video version of this song. Brian and Freddie trade singing lead for different verses. Although Brian does not have Freddie’s power he has a different color to his voice that adds emphasis to the vibe of the song.

Spectacular performance -and the Hungarians and other Eastern Europeans in attendance have not forgotten even to this day. There's an element of high drama - never one to choreograph, the spirit moved him that night. It is an emotional moment.

Pfffft covers of this song vs Queen live. You made a great choice (not many to chose from unfortunately), this is a great performance. I wouldn’t say Brian wrote it for Freddie, unless you mean for Freddie to sing. I caught an interview of his a couple of years ago where he said as a songwriter, you are giving your songs to someone to sing. And when you have Freddie Mercury sing your songs, you’re pretty damn lucky (paraphrase, obviously lol)

Awesome and analysis reaction! Since you like the operatic sound you have to check out Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe together. Freddie Mercury was really the first person who did an operatic and pop crossover album alongside Montserrat Caballe. Check out How Can I Go On, Barcelona or Ensueno - Freddie Mercury & Montserrat Caballe. If you like the opera cross over genre you will enjoy this music.

Hurray!! 🥳🥳 This is my favorite live version of this song!! Penned by Brian for the Highlander movie soundtrack .. as you probably know already! Other songs from the soundtrack are worth checking out - GIMME THE PRIZE, ONE YEAR OF LOVE, PRINCES OF THE UNIVERSE, A KIND OF MAGIC, & DON’T LOSE YOUR HEAD. ⚔️🛡⚡️ Welcome back Todd … DRIVEN BY YOU (Brian May).

You REALLY need to listen to the Queen + Adam Lambert Isle of Wight 2014 performance. It will totally blow you away. This is "Freddie's song", but Adam gives him a run for his money.

This is one of the very few Queen songs that is better in the studio version rather than live, in my humble opinion. He is brilliant here as well, but doesn't reach for some of the high notes doing it live ,
@drivingwithtodd17812 жыл бұрын
Hi Susan ... When I started my channel last year, I always tried to stay true to the original studio version. Lately, I have been getting into live versions which is very unlike me. I am finding some of the changes the bands make in their live performances interesting, especially their body language. I do agree though, I love the studio version of this song. Enjoy and keep rockin' ... 😎🎸✌
