It just doesn't get any cooler than Rory Gallagher and his band!

Rory was the king of the blues, later on he had a fulltime harmonica player called Mark Feltham. I always loved Rory playing harmonica on both electric and acoustic blues. He could do it all, his influences were Delta Blues with heavy influences from Traditional Irish Folk Music, skiffle etc. Rory was the best, have a look at any version of Shadow Play or Bad Penny. Rory for me was the best live performer, I don't think he even did a bad show. Thanks for the reaction, which was great.

Hi @patcomer2660 - Rory kicks it on guitar. I love how he feels every note he plays in his facial expressions. I was amazed by his harmonica playing as well. We will be reviewing both titles you list. Rock on ...

Loved this Todd what a song to wake up to 😊🙏🇦🇺 you could hear this man's soul in his voice into his guitar then into the band.

This is Rory at the top of his game, before the brandy got him. An absolute legend and yet probably the humblest musician of his generation. One of the main influences on many other guitarists who got a lot more famous than he did, notably Brian May. Rory never compromised, would not lick the corporate boot, shunned singles and mass marketing, staying true to his roots. He toured continuously and was always working for his fans and for the music. What I see in this performance first, though, is the fact that the band are having the time of their lives. They would be doing this whether they were getting paid or not.

Hi ljdellar - You can tell by watching Rory on stage that he is his own blues man. He sticks to his convictions! I loved watching the bass player. He was getting into the solos. More Rory to come! Enjoy ...

Ey up Todd. Well what a great choice for your reaction; Rory is one of my absolute favourites and this is a great track. The Old Grey Whistle Test was a weekly must-watch event here in the UK and it showcased many great acts, including quite a few Yanks. It's interesting to hear you speak so complimentarily about UK blues players and I have to agree with you (although I am biased). Rory was one of the best rock/blues artists to come out of Ireland and that country has produced many. So sad that he left us at a relatively young age. As usual your discussion was informative and interesting. Here's a challenge/request for you: 'Call Me A Liar' by the Edgar Broughton Band. Anyway mate keep on truckin! Oh and all the very best for a happy, healthy and musical 2025 to you and yours.

Hi @speedtriplerider - Rory is that long lost treasure of blues for me. As I mentioned in the video, I was a fan of Taste but never followed up on Rory's career. I'm glad you enjoyed this reaction and I plan more Rory in the future. Watch for your request of the Edger Broughton Band in a future DWT. Keep rockin' my friend ...
