Thank you for a beautiful and eloquent and respectful introduction to this song. Yes this was the Whitney of our generation. Those of us who witnessed her career from the beginning. It broke my heart and did not amuse me too see who she became later. But this song.....oh lawd! Two of the best voices ever. Nobody could compare with these two in their day.

Nice tribute to Diana Ross . "Hold Me" was originally recorded by Diana Ross with the title "In Your Arms" for her album " Silk Electric " ( 1982) . In the choirs of Diana Ross versione, there was Cissy Houston, the mother of Whitney . "Hold Me" , was written by Michael Masser and Linda Creed, while the production was overseen by Masser who used one of his earlier arrangements that he had produced for "In Your Arms", on the duet. "Hold Me" is a ballad duet performed by American singers Teddy Pendergrass and Whitney Houston from the former's eight studio album Love Language (1984). "Hold Me" was Houston's first ever single of her career and was later included in Houston's 1985 self-titled debut album.

TJ, this is one of my favorite songs from both of these artists. You know, I can't say the most favorite song because there are so many good songs by these two. I see you swaying with the rhythm of the song and I'm sure you're a good singer. Have you sung this song with anyone else? I sing this song with karaoke because there is one karaoke with a lady on it who plays the role of Whitney Houston. This is how I enjoy my favorite song.

If I remember well, Pendergrass was the invited artist and not the other way round and for that reason the song appears in Whitney's discography. I think this is her first record.
