Apparently, this album and their next are about a friend of the vocalist, who was deep into some kind of drug use, and shortly after his mother died, he OD'd. All the songs on this album are supposed to be extremely vague and obscure, like you said "a message", most of the songs share the same lyrical themes about language, intution, the 'mother sun'. The next album, Clairvoyant, which came out in Nov 2017, strikes the topic more head-on, about his friend's descent, if you will, into that pit of hard drug use. It's still got a very spiritual sound, lyrically and musically, but again, it's a little more literal and less figurative. And then theirs their first 2 albums, Exoplanet and Intrisnsic, with a different vocalist. The first is a prog-deathcore space-epic about finding a new Earth, and the second... well, who knows. But it's funky. Integration is a great song off of Language, some great clean vocals, and funky jazziness. Relapse is my favorite song off of Clairvoyant.

It amazes me how much they have changed since Exoplanet (much heavier album) and are still incredible musicians

The reason the end of conspire was so great was because of how heavy the rest of the song was. These guys are masters of contrast

It's so hard to get people into this band. "Yes it's abrasive, for a bit" ...."But wait it out and you won't understand where you are" Real hard sell.

Another great one to check out would be 'The Myth of Happiness' by The Dali Thundering Concept. Both the song and the video are fucking amazing (like seriously). Love the content!

Very,, very progressive... Amazing work on this one! Not a big fan of he "core" parts (Vocals, chugs etc), but really, a very unique song!

sit with this whole album for a while, you'll be surprised how much it grows

You might like their newest album (Clairvoyance) better, it has no harsh vocals. Look up Return to Earth or Reimagined from that album.

Tarkess Thanks mate! I'll check it out. I like harsh vocals, it's just that the "hardcore" vocals are not my thing... But in this case, there is much more to the band, so it does picks my interest...
@Tarkess6 жыл бұрын
Yeah I getcha, there's a lot of different approaches to harsh vocals so they're not all gonna click with everyone.
