Great reaction. This is the first time Su-metal has channelled Snow White's step mother and Moametal has quoted Shakespeare's witches from MacBeth ... it is not the first time they've included Prog Metal in one of their songs, 'Tales of the Destinies' was full on Prog and that was on their second album in 2016.🤘🦊🤘 Excellent observation from Mrs Coach on how the choreo is unique and unlike the sort of choreo you will see with KPop and western pop artists where it seems to be mostly used to fill the stage (and maybe to take your mind off the music). BABYMETAL's choreo is interpretive and, more often than not (maybe a bit less so in this particular song), intended as a bridge between the band and the audience, aimed at involving and leading the crowd so they too become part of the performance. I think you already have lots of good info about their choreographer Mikiko Mizuno (Mikikometal), I would probably only be repeating stuff you were already told if I tried to add anything here. As far as Coach having to fight any vocalist ... Su-metal is so sweet, humble and unassuming off stage - but you're right, she would drop you where you stand with one of her death stares.😁

Welcome back to the Foxhole and BabyMetal's journey 🦊🤘🔥 Cool to see you reacting to this song, its even one of SuMetal's favorite from this album. I like the progressive metal elements, that heavy breakdown and the existential questions. There's also a reference to Macbeth in the lyrics besides the obvious lines famously known by Snow White tale. Here's some official info: Mirror Mirror (MIRROR) _Mirror, mirror on the wall...this song embodies a parallel world where the world inside the mirror and the world of reality go back and forth._ _Is what you see in the mirror your true self or the self you wish to be?_ Mirror Mirror was the 5th and final single they released from this new album called The Other One released in March showing us a new sound and a BM side we've never seen before with this metalverse. This was at BabyMetal Begins - The Other One - Clear Night live at PIA Arena MM, Yokohama, last April 2nd with MomoMetal debuting as the new official third member, she was one of the avengers since 2019 and we're all proud of her, but don't think this as a replacement of YuiMetal, she's like a new incorporation to this group for this new lore and metalverse era. Also the BM logo change, it doesn't have the skull and the heart in the B letter, as well there's only three feathers in the logo unlike four prior to this. The Western Kami Band was in charge of these shows. They performed this at World Tour 2023 on certain live shows and everyone were having a blast with their classic songs and the new ones, this month they will be back with more headlining shows. See you next time!🦊🤘🪞

Ok dis our great playwright works as nursery rhymes from that play that shall not be named 😂. This was the 5th song performed. Metal Kingdom was the opening song . Think as the intro as a scene changes at a show, getting ready for the next part . Also gives them a chance to have a sip of water . I hoped they performed this on tour i was lucky they performed it 2nd night at the 2 night Roundhouse show in london Manged to see both shows, it was great live 😃

So, Mrs. Coach mentioned that she wanted to know more about the choreography. BABYMETAL's primary choreographer is Mikiko Mizuno, who is one of the top choreographers in Japan. Mikiko has a long association with the Actors' School Hiroshima as well as Amuse, Inc. a very influential performing arts school and a top-tier talent management agency respectively. BABYMETAL is associated with both of these, and they are managed by Amuse. Mikiko is very well known for her innovative and unique choreography, and has made quite a name for herself in the industry. She formed the dance troupe Elevenplay, whose dancers do a wide variety of things including supporting musical acts in various capacities. FYI, Mikiko was also the choreographer for Tokyo's handover presentation at the 2016 Summer Olympics closing ceremony and other prestigious events. She was named the chorographer for Japans opening and closing ceremonies for the 2020 Olympics, but, because of the pandemic, Japan discarded most of the planned show events and kept the games minimal. At any rate, you also mentioned that you have been getting into to K-Pop. If that is the case, then perhaps you might enjoy some J-Pop as well. I bring it up because Mikiko is also the primary choreographer for Perfume, one of the most well known and famous Electopop/Synthpop groups in Japan and they are also fairly well known internationally too (and in my opinion are one of the best synthpop groups on the planet). Perfume is also associated with Actors' School Hiroshima and Amuse, Inc., and are BABYMETAL labelmates. I would say that Perfume is a group you would want to check out. Just like BABYMETAL, Perfume's arena shows are legendary. My recommendation for any reaction to them would be to start with their performance of their song Edge ⊿-mix (right isosceles triangle version). Here is a link to that if you are interested: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gmiqqZWZg7GAnNksi=qyr5Z5GHxFe2zvKg Anyway, a fun reaction as usual.

The girls shine in this performance (as always) and show once again why they are a brilliant gem of a group. Really hope I can catch them live sometime, would be insane! As always, the fans that get bent over something said is just silly. Ignore them (as I know you guys will). Great reaction! Don't worry about saying the wrong things, you guys have always been respectful, that's what most of us fans ever ask, whether one likes them or not (and I know you guys love Babymetal). Frankly, "Backup dancers" would actually be appropriate for the extra dancers outside of Su and Moa from 2018 - Apr 2023. Especially since they did not have a mic. Momoko, one of the "backup dancers" who joined in 2019 was made the official 3rd member on Apr 1st, 2023 at the end of Day 1, "Black Night" of the "Babymetal Begins" concert. This performance was Day 2, "Clear Night", Apr 2nd, and she now has a mic after becoming an official 3rd. So this specific day's performance was the first time we heard Momo's voice live in a Babymetal show. None of this takes away from their talent, as they definitely do more than just "backup dance", and is an integral part of the chemistry on stage and crowd interactions to make the whole Babymetal experience, well, "Babymetal". Look forward to more! 🤘🦊

I think the intros work just as well for the band as they do for the audience. Babymetal concerts are some of the most physically active concerts you can attend and I hope you can make it to one on their next tour. I am so excited to see them again at the upcoming concert in San Francisco! I am not looking forward to having to come back to work on Thursday after jumping up and down all night on Wednesday, but it will worth it. I think you should react to Moabanger (a celebration of Moa's 20th birthday) for something a little different from BabyMetal. Although I wish you could react directly to the actual concert footage, there is a video titled "BABYMETAL - Headbanger!! 『へドバンギャー!! 』(MOAMETAL ver.) | Moabanger ♥ [4K]" that does a pretty good job using footage from other concerts while still including the footage we'd like you to react to. I would also recommend "Brand New Day" for a Babymetal song that your wife might like more. My wife is not a fan of Babymetal but Brand New Day is the song she likes most. There is a video from their Budokan concert in 2021 on KZbin that has subtitles, which I really recommend because the lyrics are beautiful; they can be a little lost in translation but it shows just how much the Japanese like to use imagery and poetry as ways to express things. Whatever video you choose, I look forward to your reactions!

You two made this reaction really fun! I really liked your insights into the choreo. I've been looking deeper into that myself, and it's quite fascinating. Perhaps the easiest *story within the choreo* is Megitsune. The lyrics offer resistance against the cultural norms held over women, and the dance mostly consists of placing a "mask" over the woman's true face. Either an actual fox mask, a hand with fingers spread to cover the face, or the dutiful application of makeup. It's the kind of thing you can't unsee in Babymetal's performances, once you pick up on it. I hope you can find some fun in the future looking for these little tidbits in the *scream and dance* team. Good one, thanks! Definitely one of my favorite songs from The Other ONE (if not my favorite). Su-metal said about "Mirror Mirror": "it talks about how other people can see you, but you can only see yourself in a mirror, and that may not be your true self - yet ultimately, you’re the only one that truly discerns what you really look like. So in the end, it’s like asking yourself who you really are." They are actually quoting Grimms' Fairy Tales. Disney just stole it like 100 years later (as usual). During the pre-chorus they quote Shakespeare's MacBeth ("“Double, double toil and trouble...”). I'm very fan of that pre-chorus (because of the MacBeth thing and that cool modulation right there) and, of course, very fan of that freaking breakdown. For the records, Yui was never replaced. She left back in 2018 (after not being able to perform since October 2017). They continued as a duo trying several things in 2018 and since 2019 performing with a backup dancer from a group of three (known as the Avengers) completing the "triangle formation". In 2020 the world stopped and everything was uncertain, went on hiatus in 2021, etc. Then, they returned and Momoko was announced as an official member in April 2023. Until next time! 🤘🦊

This was about halfway through the show. They often do these long intros at the live shows to give the girls a chance to catch their breath, drink some water, and fix their hair. Regarding the backup dancers, there actually were a number of backup dancers used during the period from 2018 through to 2020, prior to and during the Avengers era. If you watch "Distortion" Live at Download 2018, you will see them performing with two backup dancers, known by fans as "Muscle Metal" (Minami Tsukui and Minako Maruyama). Babymetal's choreographer is Mikikometal (Mikiko Mizuno). She has been Babymetal's choreographer and dance teacher for their entire career. Mikiko has worked with many Amuse talents including the very popular J-pop group Perfume.

Thanks again from Japan 有難う💛。I witnessed this very performance at the venue. That was the Day-2 at Pia Arena, when Momometal was inducted as the official member. So she has a headset mic for the first time. The fast passages quoted from "Macbeth" by Shakespeare were sung together with Moametal. 😍 West (American) Kami band played with their heavy hefty and nasty undulation. 😄 I am honored to have been one of the audience and saw the new BM begin. What an epic moment in my personal history ! Regarding the contrast between English lyrics and Japanese lyrics, Su said "I understand that two languages express two-facedness of human being". [Source : magazine PMC vol.27 page 39] So the difference between almost natural voice and effected voice may be intended to emphasize the dichotomy.

Good reaction coach, this was taken from 2 nights they did in April last year, Blacknight and Clearnight, The 1st show (Blacknight) was the last of the avenger era and this was the 2nd night and the 1st time Momo-metal was officially the new 3rd member and the 1st time she had a mic. The law revealing her as the new 3rd member is great at the end of the Blacknight show, on this show as well Momo sings the line in death, "Momo-metal death" and there back as a permanent 3 and going from strength to strength. Yui will always have a place in my heart but they need to look to the future as they are. The stage is amazing, you watched Monochrome from this set but the centre stage rises up for that so is higher and moves up and down throughout the show and there is a bit at the back of the whole thing that rises up as well with stuff and them on, well worth getting the double blue ray of both nights but I did have to get it from a Japanese supplier as I couldn't find it in the UK. The opening to this show was Metal Kingdom if your interested and, as usual, they smashed it.

Nice reaction as usual! I agree that BABYMETAL's choreography is special. As a metalhead, it came as a real surprise to me that I like choreographed dancing. But it's an integral part of BABYMETAL shows, and I think it's no coincidence that their audience participation is so outstanding. The dancing is like an invitation to the crowd to get moving. Having said that, I can't say that I have become a fan of choreographed dancing in general. I don't mean to badmouth anything, but I still find most of the choreographies I see in Pop music very bland and boring. It seems to be always the same old moves strung together randomly. Whereas in BABYMETAL, as you said, it usually supports the song and lyrics in a nice way. Regarding Su, while she does often have that fierce look on stage, she is a very sweet person off stage (for all we know). With her in particular, it's like there's a switch that switches between Su-metal and Suzuka. Although I'd like to add, it's not like she's 100% serious for the whole show, especially in recent shows she can be seen smiling and interacting with the crowd a lot. It all depends on the song, too. If you take a look at recent performances of Gimme Chocolate, for example, it's completely different from what you see here. I don't remember whether you have already watched CrypticMisery's guide "Everything you need to know about BABYMETAL". If you are interested, it gives you a lot of background about what they are and where they come from.

Another entertaining upload. Keep them coming!🤘🏻😁 And I like the way you went about correcting what is obviously an easy mistake to make when it comes to making music reaction videos. Specifically the "backup dancer" throw away line. You admit that you misspoke, but you also didn't shy away from speaking a little bit of your mind about the people pissing their pants in the comments, over something so trivial. People are terminally online & it can get pretty boring. So, they will jump at the chance to try and make a big iSSUE out of what is very obviously a *nonissue.* Similar to the lobotomites who will get on a Reactor's ass for bringing up anime or anime music, when reacting to BABYMETAL. It's stupid to get all hot & bothered over someone bringing up what is likely one of their only points of reference on the topic. Most Reactors aren't Japanese & have never been to Japan. But if they are into anime, then obviously that's a HUGE reference point. And when specifically speaking on the music found in anime, I don't see what is so unreasonable about comparing the usually awesome Japanese music found in anime, to the definitely awesome Japanese music that is anything by *BABYMETAL.* 💪🏻😬🤳🏻Even without the Japanese connection, it would still be absolutely rediculous for these weirdos to piss their pants over. 😆 Even when boiled down to the most basic concept, the connection is still reasonable, because it's all music.. smh 🙄 Well, if that wasn't a tangent, I don't know what is. *lol* Guess I needed to get that out of my system. Anyway, take care.👋🏻See you guys on the next one.

great reaction again! y'all should react to some of their older stuff to see some more of their history and growth - I hope you'll consider 'catch me if you can' live at budokan with intro from the mischief gods (you'll really get to appreciate the individual members of the kami band with this one), and of course the classic (most shock factor) 'gimme chocolate'. the classic 'babymetal death' - legend 1997 version >:) I would also suggest, for the history, going back and watching what I believe was their first music video 'doki doki morning'. thanks for the reaction!

I must apologise regarding your video on BMC. I didn’t realise that I was one of the major commenters pushing for your reaction to that song but I didn’t provide a reference to a specific video, which I preached about fans not doing a good job about that when here I wasn’t either!😅 it’s just I am used to being one of several dozen recommending the same thing and as a fairly new fan still, I have only recently started familiarising myself with specific channels and which compilation videos I like. I will try to do better next time! On that note, the PIA arena shows are pretty good and are fairly recent, so I wouldn’t expect a better recommendation on those. If you watch their performance of “Megitsune” at this place Sumetal does call this place “Pia arena!” Su I guess it is pronounced “peeyah” sense the Queen herself said so! 😜 As for BxMxC videos; along with the official MV, which is good, but a good live version is from their Budokan 2021 performance which For The Fox God has that one on their channel. But my personal favourite live compilation video is by KuroKiitsuneSama, which has takes from both the Budokan and their Legend Metal Galaxy performance. They did a good job editing these two together to really make the vibe of the song hit the best it could! Edit: Yeah I would definitely recommend KuroKiitsuneSama’s video. Just checking out the other one and it has a lot of watermarks and it looks as thought the video is cropped in a bit. Kind of annoying but I guess it was just to get passed the algorithm.

No apology needed at all. We appreciate all the great info you have shared. We all can learn about this stuff together. We have had some other regular viewers tell us they discovered BabyMetal through our channel and are having a blast with it, so just keep the ideas coming. We have a feeling you cannot really go wrong with anything from them.

Your reactions are fun to watch. I haven't heard you do this one yet (that I can find) What you are missing out on is some early BM music that sets up some of the lore you may be hearing about so I energetically suggest going back 'in time' to the 2013 Legend 1997 Apocalypse (Su-metal's birth year & celebrating her 16th B-day) and hearing how they introduce themselves, "Babymetal Death". Very, very heavy the way you like it. Enjoy Babymetal Death kzbin.info/www/bejne/aaLYm2WlnJWIiK8 . PS: The Legend 1997 concert has five or six songs that BM still performs today.

Don't listen to whiners, I call them backup dancers. There are some fans that are psychos just like Star Wars fans. BMC is a love or hate song.

A little Disney/Shakespeare mash up for ya! Hey Coach, I think Mrs. coach is right on this one, It's Pia Arena and not P-I-A arena. During the song Road of Resistance at Pia Arena Clear Night Su yells out "Pia Arena" to the crowd to get them hyped like she has yelled out other venue names while performing there. If you really want to see how scary Su's look can be watch this version of Headbanger, she literally gets the whole crowd to get down on their knees and bow to her with just her stare, it gives me chills. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m2GugmWZn9iJoq8

Congratulations on losing 30lb by cutting down on sugars. I lost about the same in a year after stopping eating breakfast cereals of any description. Sugar is a hard one though, as it is snuck into everything these days. Babymetal provide all the sweetness one needs* (*may not include SuMetal's Death Stare!). You'll enjoy the MV to BxMxC and there's also a great close-up fancam on YT, called BMC live in Bruxelles or similar, which is worth a look. Though THE most challenging to wrap your head around would probably be the performance of 'BABYMETAL DEATH' at the Legend 97 concert, which they closed the show with. It's more Metal than some of the show closer's I've seen IronMaiden or Rammstein do! 🦊🤘🤘🦊 PS New Band-Maid live video being released thursday at 9pm Japan time/ 12 noon UK time! Like the one they released last week, UNLEASH, this one will also be from their November 2023 Yokohama concert. I've ordered the DVD and don't mind an advance view of some of the songs, especially as they performed 33 of them that night!

PLEASE BE AWARE THAT MANY LONG-TERM REACTION FANS HAVE UNFORTUNATE SCARS FROM VERY BAD MUSIC "REACTORS" IN THE PAST. SOME FANS MIGHT STILL BE TOO QUICK AND TOO FORCEFUL TO DEFEND THEIR JAPANESE ARTISTS. PLEASE BE AWARE THAT GREAT ACTORS HAVE POSED AS WORLD MUSIC FANS ONLY TO TURN HOSTILE AFTER GROWING THEIR CHANNELS. UNFORTUNATELY, SOME PEOPLE ARE SO SHAKEN UP BY THE EVIL "REACTORS" OF THE PAST THAT THEY READ TOO MUCH INTO INNOCENT COMMENTS AS THEY ARE HYPER VIGILANT AS THEY WANT TO CATCH VERBAL/PSYCHOLOGICAL "TELLS". CALLING THEM "BACK-UP DANCERS" MAY HAVE TRIGGERED SOME UNFORTUNATE "MAMA BEAR' INSTICTS. ONCE FANS GET TO KNOW YOU, THE TRUE JROCK AND JMETAL FANS WILL NOT JUMP TO CONCLUSIONS. PLEASE, IF YOU HAVE THE TIME, DO A DEEP DIVE INTO THE LYRICS.

Interesting that some channels have done that. We always give an honest opinion, positive or negative, about a song (and yes, we have songs we did not like on the channel) but we're always respectful of the talent and the work ethic that the artists have to get to that point in their career. Appreciate your explanation.
