The funny thing is when a lot of people try an Australian accent they often sound South African…so it doesn’t surprise me that a South African can pull off the Aussie accent.

Excellent job on the Aussie accent. The food thing at customs is true there are a whole host of diseases that we don't have here, so keeping them out is critical to our bio-security, they could nearly destroy our food industry, so you with the apple...

I remember when I was a kid in Western Australia and you could eat clean fruit straight off of your backyard trees with no fruit fly maggots and no pesticide needing to be washed off.. Now you have to make a choice between the dangers of pesticide or the revulsion at maggots. Maggots are not so bad if they're small enough though.. Extra protein!

Fruits are a massive thing here because we are so far from everyone... we grow most things here and if we get an outbreak of fruit flies from somewhere else it will destroy our fruit farming.. we don't even take fruit across borders here due to that

The 😊issue isn’t fruit flies, but we don’t have many of the diseases such as rabies, Dutch Elm Disease, foot and mouth and until now we have avoided the disease that has been wiping out honey bees. We want to keep it that way.

Great job on the accent, and the baggage obviously hadn't been loaded evenly. If there is too much up front or back of the plane it will struggle to get off the ground. There has to be even weight front and back.

That was spot on, he nailed the accent. I remember being asked in Ireland Do you have costome between the States in Australia. My answer was they are not very strict you can take drugs from state no problem but if you get caught with fruit you go to jail. It was a joke of course, but almost true.

As far as Australian accents are concerned Scottish comedian Danny Bhouy is great not only has he got the accent he's nailed the vernacular. Danny Bhouy live at the Sydney Opera House is fantastic. Too long for a reaction but well worth a private viewing. There are many individual clips from longer performances which involve Australian accents like Fruit Police and Gecko Attack. and obviously Australian accents. These two are very similar in some respects and I am an idiot so it makes sense to me now that I would have mixed them up.

I was at customs at Melbourne Airport and the the officers were going through cases and pulling out loads of banned foods from an Asian visitor. The visitor was arguing and throwing a fit but the officers stood their ground. Melbourne, and provincial cities in Victoria, has a huge Comedy Festival annually, in March.

I have seen all sorts of things brought into the country and who knows what diseases they carry. For future tourists, just don't bring any food products with you but if you do, even if you think it doesn't count, declare "everything" you have on you and I mean *everything* . Trust me, the fines are steep and depending on what you are trying to bring in, you could even be deported on the spot. Ignorance is not an excuse.

Yep, his accent was really good. 🇦🇺 The Biggest Loser used to be on TV but hasn’t been on for years here (that I know of). The reason we are so strict about what comes into our country is simple. We do not have many of the diseases & pests here that ravage other countries. If any of them got in, they could ruin our fruits, vegetables, forests, & certain other industries, livestock, etc. We don’t have Foot & Mouth disease or Rabies either. Because we are such a huge country, if any of these diseases or pests got in, it could ruin us. I live on a farm, & totally agree with these very strict quarantine laws. Same if you’ve been on a farm in another country. Please tell them, so they can check your shoes. There was recently a bad outbreak of Foot & Mouth in Bali & other parts of Indonesia. If it got in here, the effects would be absolutely devastating. It is the same when travelling interstate here. Some States have pests that other States do not have. So all food items must be either eaten or thrown in the bin at the border. It may seem harsh to outsiders, but we’re protecting our food industries, livestock, & plants etc. Please everyone, when coming here, do the right thing. 🇦🇺
