have yet to dive into the rabbit hole of Ghost have we? "Rats", "Cirice", "Square Hammer", "Faith", pick one, listen to them all, they are an awesome band that wholly embrace the gimmick for all it's worth, being theatrical and easy to listen to, not sounding like you'd expect them to.

You have to remember he changes his vocals depending on character example his papa 3 character was harsh with growls and stuff but the occasional soft tone his cardinal copia gimmick he's slicker and softer to pull you in if that makes sense

They did do a key change, half step up, at the end of the 1st verse, but they seemlessly interweave both their own style and Metallica's. Especially with the solo.

Like covers, try Liliac. They do have a couple of Metallica covers, “Enter Sandman” & “Master of Puppets” along with more mostly 80s/90s hard rock/metal songs. Actually prefer their originals better, “Nothing”, “Mars” live, “Dancing in the Dark” are few to start with but if you like ballads “Sail Away”. For “Enter Sandman” The Warning w/Alesia Casa did a nice re-interpretation of the song.

Your comment regarding mids is correct. Ghost doesnt really touch anything but mids. Theres a couple of songs that are low but its mainly in the classic/theatre rock that ghost resides. More if heavy metal and Kiss merged. Their heaviest song Mummy Dust isnt even “heavy” in the normal tune. This rings closer to cirice, square hammer to my ears. More over what i think feels off is that this was made back in 2018-2019 for a award show played live. They must’ve recorded it in the studio for Metallica’s blacklist album, this was made during a controversial time for the band as the core group shattered.

I think Ghost's style is too different from Metallica's for this to sound correct, but I liked it because I like Ghost. I can definitely see why people wouldn't like it though.

I like ghost a lot but this just sounds wrong in so many ways compared to their own classics like He Is or Life Eternal. This song really goes all over the place...

@@hnorrstrom well. Its a cover. And i wouldnt say that this is a “he is” or “eternal life” this is what metalica and Circe mix would look like. Its chaotic like From the pit and Mummy dust. He is and eternal life are more structured.
