Every time I hear Paper Gangsta I love it more. The way she hands it to Def Jam for dropping her the way they did is just amazing. Shows how she was committed to being authentic from the very beginning. The Marry the Night video really made me appreciate this song a lot too - Def Jam is who called her on the phone and set her off when they dropped her and then she picked herself up (with her bedazzler) and got up and did it again. Then Interscope called her and we got The Fame.

I miss you Newfie! Appreciate this much!!! Excited for your next Gaga album review! I agree that Starstruck and Boys Boys Boys should have been singles as well. I think that time they were so confused on what songs should have music videos as there were a lot of bangers in the album, or maybe it was her record label who decided. Paper Gangsta was believed to be a song for her first record label who dumped her after 3 months, Island Def Jam Records. Side note: Gaga and Ariana will be performing at the VMAs 2020 this August 30th! Can't wait for their Chromatica performance! Peace and love always! 🥰😘😍

In the boys boys boys track its just her shouting "boys!" and "we love them!" in the background afaik at the end "Til your diamond words melted into some ice" is like your words where good at the start but after a while you didnt meet your promises. It also makes a good visual metaphor as diamonds and ice can look like each other but one is more valuable than the other.
