We all love it when they sprinkle in some Mitch! He's literally a magical sprinkling of sparkles 😍 Always love Scott too, to be fair. And Kirstie just brightens everything. Hello Salvo G!! At last!! Isn't this just great? Happy Now!! So glad you did this one......it makes me happy now. The beat, the lyrics the arrangement, the video - are all so good. Scott's power starting this is so good. Kevin beat boxing and with those whooshing sounds. Matt on the bass so deep. Kirstie backing. Mitch with the ear candy and those beautiful sounds and then emerging - in more ways than one - for singing the bridge. Mitchell Grassi is just superb every time!! You got more than a '"sprinkling" of Mitch!! Please do the rest of The Lucky Ones Album and let's celebrate PTXs tenth anniversary (from 2021) with them. On that album listen to Bored for some fun, Never Gonna Cry Again with a box of tissues, Be My Eyes, Love Me When I Don't and The Lucky Ones (title track) to see how they feel about where they are after ten years.

Hahah they know exactly how to place the leads for most impact. Some people complain about scott having many leads, but the genius with that is how it lays the groundwork for a great mitch moment like that. As great as mitch is, having him added as a contrast to scott elevate both of their parts! It's not about equal time, it's about enhancing each other and bringing the best they can out of the music.
@hawkeyescoffee63992 жыл бұрын
Yes, exactly that. Using the right voice for the right part and then slipping in that lead voice switch up as part of the "bridge. A pallette cleanser, if you will. It's almost like how bands will to place like an instrumental moment or guitar/drum solo for maximum impact, gives the main vocalist a bit of a rest, but also keeps the song fresh & exciting for the listener. ETA: Also, the joy of PTX is everyone has their favourite. Some people prefer Mitch (for obvious reasons), others prefer Kirstie, and then of course plenty of people are Scott fans. The group works because they have a balance going, over the course of a song, but more so on the larger scale of an album they all get their moments to shine.

Mitch is like a butterfly in this, coming out of his cocoon! Of course you can hear his energizing ulululations in the background, from about a minute on. I love the way the color is added back, bit by bit, until they're all brilliant and filled with joy for the finale.

Great reaction, as usual!! The second track from the album is 'Love Me When I Don't' (another one catchy and uplifting song), they have a live (but heavily visually edited) performance on their channel. I also dare to recommend checking out their covers of 'New Rules X Are You That Somebody' (Matt's bass and Mitch and Kirstie's bell tones!!), 'Attention' (Scott goes super high in it), 'Problem' (Mitch raps), 'You're a mean one, Mr Grinch' (Matt leads, and Scott does the bass the whole song), 'Rather Be' (Kirstie leads), 'La La Latch' (one of their BEST arrangements in 11 years).

For Kirstin lead and co-written songs from the album, there are Love Me When I Don’t, Be My Eyes, It’s Different Now (track), and Exit Signs (track).
@hawkeyescoffee63992 жыл бұрын
Happy Now was my favourite track, then I heard Coffee in Bed, it became my joint fave, and then Love Me When I Don't... 3 way tie for fave, and then...well, yeah, OK... you get the idea. Their originals are all so damn good. I don't think I've ever heard an album from an artist where there wasn't one "weak" link of a song like this album has been for me (even the deluxe version with the extras). As with a lot of other people I love _Never Gonna Cry Again_ it's a great, catchy song, but also because speaks a lot about Mitch's attitude to remaining true to himself because whatever you do, no matter how you change yourself there will still be critics trying to bring you down. However, I feel like _Side_ , _Bored_ , and _Petals_ don't get enough love imo. If I were 20 years younger I would have loved dancing to a lot of these in a club. Also, Matt's bass on this album...I need to hear more live versions because I feel like he's really starting to come into his own now.
@_sage_52102 жыл бұрын
Saw someone comment this already but you should react to Never Gonna Cry Again! It's severely underrated, written and lead by Mitch with a crazy Matt bass and of course Kevin, Kirstie, and Scott killing it as well

OMG, me too! I have such a horrid time understanding lyrics, but with PTX, I'm always like, is THAT what the song says?! LOL

Omg, yes. Especially when they did the Evolution of Ariane, it was a sudden moment of...wait... _that's what she's singing_ !? Lol
@terriepurkey7082 жыл бұрын
Totally agree - most songs i have to hum along to because I never get much of the lyrics, even the chorus, but these guys are great - I can ALWAYS understand the words. I think part of that is that their voices aren't drowned out by loud instruments, guitars, etc.
@judithL31002 жыл бұрын
@@terriepurkey708Probably right. At first I thought it was just because I had such a clear view of their mouths when singing, but I’ve also noticed it on songs where there are no videos. Not true for other artist’s videos
@Karen-Campos2 жыл бұрын
Fun Fact: This is Matt’s first PTX original! What a stunning visual representation of life headed in one direction, only to discover an unexpected change was lurking around the corner. The veil of confusion & darkness does slowly, eventually slip off and with it the guilt that might try to linger, allowing us to embrace a new direction, a new adventure, a new relationship, to find color in life again.... and be happy! Like a butterfly breaking out of it’s cocoon!
@risperdude2 жыл бұрын
As always, EVERYTHING, this album is fire! I often feel like PTX original music gets slept on because they covers are so great. There is really no bad track in all of their catalog of music, I admit, certain songs play better depending on my mood or vibe. Unlike so many artists, they have something for everything, every mood, every vibe, everyday. Discovered PTX almost 10 years a go looking up a video for Radioactive and their video was on top of Imagine Dragons. The almighty algorithm blessed me,, I'm still obsessed and have no regrets!

Hey! Loving all your Pentatonix reactions. Its so fun watching someone who loves them as much as we do. I have no doubt you are going to hit all my favorites. If I can suggest a slight detour, Citizen Queen is a girl group associated with Pentatonix. They only had a dozen or so songs, but they were awesome. From what I understand, Scott and some other members of the PTX production team put them together. Amazing lineup of talent including a girl beatbox and girl bass. Check out Killing Me Softly, No Tears Left To Cry, Whack World Medley, and Evolution of Girl Groups among others....

What a wonderful thing to wake up to and listen to while my migraine goes away. Mitch just did a Livestream on his Patreon and said "Be My Eyes" was his favorite song on the album. He was very effusive about to the point of saying he would have loved to be in on that KIRSTIE LEAD AND WRITTEN track. That is one of my favorite videos. They did happy now before lockdown but the rest of the tracks on the album, the videos were done either during lockdown or soon after, when you could leave your house but it was extremely risky to be around other people.

To see something other than fan videos, you might look for their performance on some of the late night talk shows and other live TV performances. I think you would really like the entire Superfruit album because even though both guys are singing throughout, the way they're singing an octave apart, Mitch's voice is front and centre most of the time. From The Lucky Ones, other songs I think you'll enjoy a lot include: Bored (Scott & Mitch main leads), Love Me When I Don't (Kirstin & Mitch leads with solos by Matt & Scott), A Little Space (I prefer the album version - no video though - because I think Kevin gets to sing lead a bit more than the collab version (which has a video) with South Korean boyband ATEEZ), Never Gonna Cry Again (Mitch lead), Be My Eyes (Kirstin lead, Mitch featured), It's Different Now (Kirstin lead), Petals (Scott lead, Mitch featured).

Then I demand (kidding) you so never gonna cry again next. Several reasons why: Mitch wrote and he loves EDM so jump to the obvious conclusion lol but it has a bass guitar part in it where I swear to you MATT sounds exactly like a bass guitar. He and Kevin did a Livestream about the album and he said he has to take three or four passes in order to get it just right. I tweeted him and told him that most people could never get it right with a hundred passes. It's. just. that. good. Your reactions are some of my favorites bc of your calm demeanor which is weird bc I'm an extreme extrovert. Lol Anyway, stay awesome!!

There isn't a single track on this album I wouldn't highly recommend. Frankly, you might as well just open the album and go track by track - you'll like them all. I'd also love for you to listen to some stuff from their other album full of originals, stuff like "Ref" (which has some astonishing synth-like stuff from Kevin and Avi) or "Sing" (which is one of the most UPBEAT pieces of music I've ever heard) or "Rose Gold" (which is almost, but not quite, out of Scott's vocal range. I love it but it makes me hold my breath). I just checked your playlists and I'm startled to find you have nine from Superfruit, but almost nothing off their wonderful video album "Future Friends" other than "Guy.EXE." I'd love for you to work your way through that one, too, as again, there's NOTHING on that album that isn't seriously excellent. Some of it is hilarious, some of it is painful, some of it is just ... weird, but ALL of it is fabulous!

Don't know why I am bothering to write..... my opinion clearly doesn't matter. I LOVE Led Zeppelin.... I might not have been born when they were relevant and current, but if anything my opinion should count.... I was born into a world where bands and musicians were all auto tuned and sounded great because of mechines.. I didn't know any better then, but I know the difference now.. I guess that I am just bitter because I haven't had my imput taken seriously.. . Subscribe? Why? Because I wasn't born 10 yrs before I was? I didn't see the live? I did see Robert live.... after LZ and still amazing.... I guess I just feel like my opinion, while positive, isn't what is Liked and obviously viewed by newer fans... ok, I haven't been a fan of Led Zeppelin for 50+ yrs.. I guess I am just saying, appeal to everyone.... ont the people that already LOVE them.... make people that are just starting out realize that the sounds they love came from SOMEWHERE..... give LZ the credit the deserve.....
