Thank you, @JJLovesPrince. Thank you so very much. I'm pretty emotional at the moment. I didn't realize the costs involved in the "you click it you pick it" option. What a tremendous gift you given me - and all others who enjoyed this. Much love to you, kf

Prince and his band would rehearse so much, even mistakes were practised 😂. Seriously there are bootleg recording out there where Prince would just jam with the band for ages. There's an unreleased track called Billy that is over 45 minutes long and is completely improvised.

I used to mistakenly think that Prince was just, ya know, SERIOUS alllll the time, because he was such a perfectionist (as well as a prodigy). It’s so neat to see him enjoying himself!

The first saxophone player, Maceo Parker (James Brown, P Funk), is also the one who played on Deee Lite "Groove is in the heart". The second saxophone player, Eric Leeds, composed and recorded with Prince (on all the other instruments) two plus one unofficial intrumemntal jazz albums in the mid 80's under the name Madhouse. the name of these albums are very easy to remember : 8, 16 and 24.

Ahhhh!!!! @JJLovesPrince, thank you so much, dear one! Travis and Suzi, thank you for your reaction. I enlisted @JJLP's help because she clearly had developed a relationship with you guys already. I've been a subscriber for a while, but have kept mostly to the sidelines. Anyway, just wanted to add a small detail about the car. A couple of years after Purple Rain came out, I bought a tan (yes, tan) 1974 Plymouth Valiant for a few hundred dollars. Named it Prince both for its color and the play on words "Prince Valiant." So there's that. By the way, I lived in Brooklyn, worked in Manhattan in the 80' - '90's, so it's fun knowing you're there. P.S. Maceo was part of James Brown's backing band. And of course that's Sheila E. with the percussion solo. 💗💜🧡 Uh-oh, one more thing. If you're wondering about the title - and the chorus "There's a theocratic order / There's a theocratic order now" - means, according to the man himself, any relationship with Prince had to also include God. I'm not religious, but Prince's enormous talent and a few other things in my life have made me believe in some things that can't otherwise be understood.

That’s the legendary Sheila E. on percussion with the great John Blackwell on drums. Longtime Prince saxophonist Eric Leeds and Maceo Parker of James Brown fame on the other sax. Eric’s brother Alan was both Prince and James Brown’s tour manager. 💜💜💜♊️♊️♊️
