The Izanagi and Izanami are named after the brother and sister shinto gods who created the islands of Japan. They married each other and had various different gods as children, but one of them, the god of fire, Kagutsuchi, burned and killed Izanami during childbirth. Izanagi went down to Yomi, their underworld, to get her back, but upon finding her, was told not to look upon her. He did anyways, and found her to be hideous, as she was now nothing but a corpse. Izanagi tried to escape while his sister had a lightning god and a hag chase him down, wanting to drag him down with her. He got away, and she claimed that she would kill one thousand people every day. He retorted that 1500 people would be born every day. He then went through a cleansing ritual, and Amaterasu, the sun goddess, was born from his left eye, Tsukuyomi the moon god came from his right eye, and Susano'o, the storm god, came from his nose. He locked himself away for the rest of time afterwards.

The Orpheus myth is from 800-500 BC while the Chinese folktale is a bit more modern being from the Ming Dynasty so it was first written around 1368-1644 AD. Even the Shinto creation myth was born around the 16th to 18th century. So far from what i have read the Orpheus myth predates most if not all of them. Giving strength to my idea that they were born out of that myth.

It's extremely plausible. However, we should also remember that the shinto creation myth might not have been written for a long time, but was spoken around that same era, considering that the legendary first emperor Jimmu, who lived in the 7th century BC, was supposed to be a descendant of Amaterasu according to the people, so I'm sure Izanami and Izanagi were a known myth even back then.

Garra had people. Itachi killed every family member possible. Sauske had friends who cared. Kabuto had nothing and argubly did less evil than itachi since most of his on screen attacks were during war. If you wanna go by scale Sauske is worse for still being evil. Itachi committed the worst crimes. Yarra still had people but he still became evil at least he turned around. Lastly many to had no one till orochi took him. Honestly I think he could've ended up far worst based on the scale.

Colin I agree that Itachi is a great man that did something horrible not just because he was ordered but also because it was for the better good. That being said I call him a great man instead of a good man because in the end he still killed everyone (even the elderly and children). Itachi himself accepted that he was doing something horrible and while there are HUGE redeeming things about it, I (as a Itachi fanboy) would not call him a good guy (an anti hero maybe but thats as far as I would go). Its like killing 100 to save 100000. Its the right thing to do but that does not change that 100 lives where lost because of it.

Seriously the izanagi & izanami... like if those exist what’s the point in shuriken.. or battle strategy and tactics. The sharigan and all the plus new abilities it received as the story went on just devalued all the battle tactics and strategy that was the center of naruto fights in the beginning, & imo ruins what made naruto special. You know as of late I've seen a lot of Curtis is an uchia fan boy and well I don't think he is. he just looks at itachi as most people do a soldier who sacrificed everything for his country and hes a great character because of it. And Curtis seems to understand that but people who call him a fanboy seem to forget he has watched the entire series himself too except filler and he knows that itachi was the reason Sasuke is the way he is in fact in this video itachi said it and Curtis didn't deny it. Why did we as fans of his channel ask him to watch something if we're just going to rag his ass about everything he does and says. And hes not doing anything wrong... Respect is an important thing and if you don't have it here do you have it anywhere else? Plus it's a series not a lifeline. Curtis prefers Sasuke and itachi as characters so obviously he roots for them and wants to see shit happen. getting mad at him is like getting mad at him for not liking pain at first and rooting for Naruto instead of pain... I mean jeez this happens way too much. People were mad at him for not liking pain at first now it's the same with kabuto. Judging by the surprise in Curtis' voice with Izanami, haha fuck you all those people who acted like I spoiled him when I was explaining the Izanagi Yes, Izanami, the ruler of Yomi the Shinto Underworld. She was Izanagi's wife and birthed the eight great islands of Japan but died and went to the Underworld, as her husband ventured there to reclaim her she broke and ate the food of the land and was thus bound to it. Her decayed visage frightened Izanagi away, infuriating her and sending Demons after him, claiming that she would kill 1,000 every day he didn't return, to which Izanagi retorted that he'd allow 1,500 to be born. After his escape he would wash himself of Yomi's impurity, birthing the 3 main Shinto gods: Amaterasu, Susanoo and Tsukuyomi. And thus concludes the full extent and lore of the Shinto/Sharingan Connection. We finally get Kabuto's flashback, the story another orphan with a tragic story yet to be told...

I still hate Kabuto even after this was shown. I always thought his backstory was stated too late so I always thought he didn't have a motive and when his motive was finally revealed it just felt lackluster to be told so late and that he felt he had no purpose until Orochimaru came along and raised him sorta. Also, he's an Orochimaru copycat despite having accomplished more than he did with the reanimation jutsu etc.
