I saw in an interview that Courtney Love introduced echo & the bunnymen music to Kurt Cobain because she liked them. When he listened he said it was romantic.

They were popular with lots of American punks/ post punks. But a very young Courtney did live in Pete de Freitas’s flat for a little while in the early 80s.

Huh? They were a post punk band in thr early 80s. Saw them in Australia in 81. No one called them either of those terms. Neo psychaedelic stuck for a bit.

It’s not dark, it’s melancholic. Back then most of the alternative bands were melancholic. It was a rebellion towards the happy go easy music that dominated

@@reactionextraction It was just a term we used for people who dressed in black and looked very unhappy lol and listened to this type of music. back in the day everyone was pidgeon holed, i was a Rude Boy for a couple years (into ska music) then a New Romantic ( into Duran Duran, Spandua etc) then i got into House music for a bit, I'm not proud of that lol now i like all sorts of music even Take That a boy band. I don't think kids today have the same groups and the fashion and haircuts etc as we did? The 80s was so much fun. Love the music you play on the channel keep up the good work, you will soon reach 100k subs.
