This video aimed at A-level students, explains how precipitation reactions with aqueous sodium hydroxide can be used to identify the presence of Cr3+, Cu2+, Fe2+ and Fe3+ ions and how to describe these reactions with both chemical and ionic equations. It also discusses the fact that some d block metal hydroxides are amphoteric and how these can be identified using the reaction of these hydroxides with excess sodium hydroxide.
