Reactions to various disguises in FNV

Here is some non NCR related faction disguises that the Mojave wasteland reacts to.

I think the BoS disguise presumes you're wearing a helmet. It'd be weird that prison gangs recognize who's who better than the Brotherhood

Doesn't make much sense that they wouldn't have some kind of IFF strategy though, a passcode is pretty... outdated for a group like the BoS.

​@@JB-xl2jcI mean, that would require that sort of IFF technology was built into the pre-war power armor. Something that would be difficult, (both pre and post war) without compromising the structure. Or heavily modifing it through trial and error. Plus, the Mojave chapter isn't doing so well after Helios. Those few Paladins *were* on a secret mission from the Elder. With their limited numbers sent out with the passcode and power armor training needed to operate the armor, it's unlikely that any outsider would pull that off. Of course, we are the Courier, someone beyond the average, predictable strategies

@@cottoneyejoe8285 I know that part, I just never thought about wearing the power armor as well. It would require you to get power armor training from the enclave first so it makes sense that I've never tried it, I usually meet the brotherhood early on.

@@connorbestbarlow1043 You have to do Arcade's personal quest. If you do it well enough, you can even have the remains of the enclave come and help you in the battle of Hoover Dam like the boomers, etc

It amuses me that a Great Khans uniform changes absolutely nothing about the Fiends outside of Vault 3 and yet makes all the Fiends inside the Vault neutral. You're safer in Vault 3 with the uniform on than in the surrounding wasteland with or without it. It also amuses me that a Great Khans uniform makes the Vault 3 Fiends neutral and yet wearing the Fiends' own uniform doesn't.

Powder ganger reaction makes sense, NV was ahead of its time, so much detail put into it. Suprised how the Brotherhood didnt open fire, its a small closed society where everyone probably knows everyone

Its a fair reward for doing the game upside down. Arcades enclave quest line requires the completion of some of the harder quests in the game and at least halfway down the end of most main questlines, where you have already chosen a side.

I've tried it, it's ok. There are a handful of NCR quests where you can sabotage them, but not much changes apart from that. Oh, and once you finish the White Glove Society quest the NCR will shun you.

I remember the lady outside the NCR Sharecropper Farms had slightly different dialogue if you had NCR armor on. Probably one of the smallest details I’ve found.

Boone is a bit peculiar. If you have negative reputation with the NCR he will not talk with you, but you can get by this by wearing a disuise, even if that disguise is legion.

Dawes is super buggy, he will, in the same playthrough, let me go in via disguise despite villified rep, but then when I did all but the last stage of his bosses quest, he suddenly can go hostile if I'm not fast enough to the door, and even that sometimes doesn't work and he turns everyone hostile there.

just skip Joe Cobb and head straight to NRCF. Most gangers will be neutral, except for one (scripted guy, appears when you loot the remains of a caravan)

@@cyriell yeah some npc's are tagged as "guards" like important faction characters including the one by the NCRCF door I believe. They'll see through the disguise in most cases.

It’s not classed as an actual faction armour so I don’t think he would say anything. But it’s worth finding out for sure, by getting the armour from the deathclaw place to the east, and getting training from the brotherhood.
