Noir Désir - Tostaky (live Les Vieilles Charrues 2001) - REACTION - First Time hearing

Noir désir is the name of the band. Tostaky is a contraction for "todo esta aqui". The song is in french and in spanish. Noir désir was my favorite band at that time till the singer Bertrand Cantat killed his girlfriend Marie Trintignant by hitting her as he was drunk. Marie was a well known actress and that caused a big emotion in France. Cantat was rejected by the other members of the band and Noir désir does'nt exist anymore. They left very good songs with very deep lyrics that we still listen now with a little bitterness. Probably one of the best rock french band ever. ...with a so sad story to end. Still be a fan of the band, me and my girlfriend have part of the lyrics of this song on our arms, and still follow Bertrand Cantat career, even if I can understand lot can't. "fun" fact: their last album was released on 9/11/01. Maybe it was a sign.

Noir Desir was the best French rock band. They were amazing live, and very political... But since the lead singer killed his girlfriend in a fist fight when he was drunk, I really have a hard time listening to his voice that I loved so... The lead guitar player, Serge Teyssot-Gay is an excellent musician too.

I used to love this band and saw them many times on stage. It was my favorite french band. Unfortunately, since singer Bertrand Cantat beat his partner to death, I cannot listen to their songs anymore. Some people say I should separate the artist from the man, but I can't. I don't judge people who still listen to them, but as far as I'm concerned I cannot help but seeing Bertrand's girfriend bloodied, broken face when I hear Noir Désir"s songs.

It's not an United Statizen flag, this flag is called "Gwenn ha du" from... original : Breizh / French : Bretagne / english : "little" Brittany. He have white and black stripes and hermines on top left. You can google "Gwenn ha du" or "drapeau breton" for a visual. It's a very old country who is now a regional part of France. For fact, this concert was during a festival in Bretagne but you can see it all over the world, very very proud peoples.

That's not "your" flag in the audience. It's the "Gwen a Du" (transl : the White and black) : the flag of Brittany. Because this concert was in Brittany, in Carrhaix during "Les Vieilles Charrues" one of the biggest french festival. The Gwen A Du might be seen in any event, from Cycling Races, to soccer matches, strikes/demonstrations, fests, olympics, ... all over the world ! (because Brittons are proud AF of their culture and flag)

Pardon j'ai pas l'habitude d'intervenir, surtout pout faire de l'humour noir, mais en lisant les commentaires je ne pouvais pas m'empêcher de penser à Christina Rady... Et là, je vous lis... So ironic :) J'y pense tristement, et on l'oublie souvent... For those who don't know, Christina was Cantat's wife, supporting him during the process for murder, and always here for him. She suicides, hanging herself, few ears ago, after talking about cruely he made on her. So sad. I can(t hear Cantat's voice any more.

At that time the others band member mostly thow him out and broke the band and he was condamed some peoples said not enought i will said we don't knowed what really happened if it was an accidental murder or a volontary murder so i'm reserving my jugement!
