Wall-E has to be one of the greatest animated movies ever made, I think. I love the villagers' lack of inhibition when it comes to expressing their feelings and praise through song. It's something we've sort of lost in Western culture, or at least we restrict it to certain contexts.

I Do believe(but I could be wrong)that Disney made a poor job marketing Wall-E and that's probably why it's overlooked.

great observation @WendyKay84, I agree we restrict ourselves a lot, I think Western culture has a bit of a history of "rule-making" above and beyond normal things like cultural customs or language paradigms, and theyre always moving and changing, it might even be the reason we have frequent youth rebellions as we continually question "why?" before falling right back into the same culture with a new coat of paint, idk but your comment has got my mind ticking hehe.

After watching this movie many times, I have figured out that all of the malfunctioning robots have achieved a personality. It is a "bug" in their programming, likely from operating for over 700 years. Wall-E had it, and EVA had it. it apparently activates in only a fraction of the robots. The go from having no awareness to having awareness. The bug resides in all of them, as shown when Wall-E teaches them to wave and they respond. They had never realized there was more than their job.
