heard it 100 times, and it still tears me up. so pretty on that stage as well. if you're going to try another concert, do KEXP or Haik next. thx again!!

KEXP is excellent...as is HAIK. But I'd say another classic Aurora live show that doesn't get as much love....is the one she recorded during the pandemic with the Bergen Orchestra. It's gorgeous. Similar vibe to Nidarosdomen, but on a smaller scale...more intimate. The whole concert is incredible....but the rendition of Soulless Creatures is particularly stunning. And it's the one and only time she's ever played that song live. Which kills me....because it might be my single favorite Aurora song. Or at least in my top 3 for sure.

Of all of Aurora's magical presentations I think this one is the most achingly beautiful. If you listen very closely, you can hear the cracks emanating from the more hard hearted among us. However, you paused the clip too soon and you missed her trademark sweet smile at the end, that lets everyone know that all is fine, after she has pierced the hearts of those who appreciate her work. You have seen the shy, fragile young girl of the Nobel concert and the enchanting young woman at Nidarosdomen, now on to the fairy tale forest spirit of the HAIK concert (Aurora will make you smile on multiple occasions this time). If you can't manage all of HAIK, the "must see" are songs you haven't covered so far "The River", "The Seed" and "Daydreamer" in which she says "I know I"m just a girl but can I change lives?". I think you already know the answer to that question.

@@gratefulpitnicker I'm a grizzled, grumpy 64 (Still waiting to have the Beatles question answered on my behalf) and I've fallen under her spell. If you want to check out some other brilliant young talent, all with channels on KZbin, take a look at these - First Aid Kit (Swedish sisters Klara and Johanna Soderberg - fantastic covers and their own brilliant songs), MonaLisa Twins (Austrian sisters Mona and Lisa Wagner, living in Liverpool, great 60's and 70's covers and original songs, they have played for an extended period at the Cavern Club. They have a very funny clip covering The Hollies "Bus Stop"), Emily Linge (Only 12, beautiful voice, plays guitar and piano, Norwegian and British parents, born and living in Dubai. She has a great clip of Queen's "Love Of My Life" with Brian May accompanying her over Skype, a testament to her talent) Alice Phoebe Lou (A young South African living in Germany), Lucy Thomas (Only 16, beautiful voice. Lucy is just made for musical theatre. There are some brilliant clips of Lucy with her younger sister Martha, celestial sibling harmonies), Larkin Poe ( Sisters Megan and Rebecca Lovell, great blues and roots rock covers and originals. They were in a blue grass group with their older sister, then they found the blues and decided they wanted to be "Bad girls" for a while. Megan plays brilliant lap steel guitar) and Karolina Protsenko (Only 11. A brilliant busking violinist. Clips mostly in Santa Monica). They are all well worth the time and effort, a lot of international and musical diversity but all exceptionally talented.

This song is so special... I love all her music. Everything from the modern vibe of Apple Tree to the cosmic beauty of Soulless Creatures. But this song is different from all her other songs. It sounds very timeless...classic...almost like a nursery rhyme or an ancient folk song. It's HARD to write a super simple melody that is perfect and captivating like this. It's almost like Twinkle Twinkle Little Star the way the melody is so strong, so effortlessly pure and perfect, that it carries the entire song. You don't see modern artists writing songs like this very often... I love a lot of different kinds of music....particularly distorted harmonic wall-of-sound shoe-gaze, dream pop, and alternative metal like Deftones and Tool. But Aurora is an entire category of music in my life. Her stuff is pure emotional catharsis for me. Her music makes me FEEL like nothing else....and will always hold a very special place in my heart.

This here is a great example of a song and a voice that would be absolutely ruined by Auto-Tune. Those slides into notes and that masterful manipulation of pitch to cause tension and release. I've heard some people call them imperfections, but I guarantee that it's all intentional and natural. She is a vocal technician. I'm so glad american pop producers didn't get to her first.

Great reaction, thanks. Subscribed for Aurora and very much like your reaction style and demeanor. During the wonderful HAIK documentary on Norwegian Public TV, Aurora says how she wrote this song because, "I was in a bubble and only seeing the bad that the world had to offer." She wrote this, and many, of her songs as part of her healing process; she TRULY is an amazing artist and talent. To see her personality I highly recommend you watch the entire HAIK documentary and the accompanying concert, you will not be disappointed. BTW, her parents are at the concert, too. kzbin.info/www/bejne/imSQdpWpgpaEpqs (To clarify - part of the HAIK concert plays as part of the documentary, but the entire HAIK concert is also available on KZbin and it's another amazing performance)

Man.....I'm loving your Aurora reactions. I definitely have to see what else you do on your channel. You strike me as a very emotionally intelligent person....so it's no wonder Aurora connects with you so deeply. I've shown this very concert to friends. Many were impacted like you were, or I was. But some...are just like "meh, it's good I guess, but idk...kinda boring tbh." And after I pick my jaw up off the floor I quietly remind myself that people are into different things and not everything connects with everyone. And yet, I can't help but be *baffled* by any human being who could watch this concert and not be profoundly moved. But I think music like this requires a fair degree of emotional intelligence to truly get. I know plenty of very smart people....who are utterly disconnected from the emotional and spiritual dimension of life. I'm an atheist myself, but this concert is a divine entheogenic experience if there ever was one.

Cracks me up every time. She sings without limits: heart to heart, soul to soul. She must be using en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sei%C3%B0r to weave new things into existence, and she, imho, sings from the knowledge that we are all One. We are like leaves on the tree of life: yggdrasil. We think we are the leaves. but we are the tree. We are Odins eyes. There is only one consciousness, looking into the world through different eyes, different perspectives. But behind the screens, in reality, we are one. Knowing this, she sings, without boundaries, without.. holding back, fully, transforming the listener. Its .. magic.

There is also an alternative version of this. "Through the Eyes of a Child" - Live Stripped (Vevo Uk Lift).
