That voice is from Geraldine James. Her first quote is from Lord Byron, her second from Carl Sagan. Tuomas called this piece of music his love letter to nature (the "nature"-disc of the album). Nightwish themselves released a video for "Ad Astra", which is really worth checking out as well.

Second your comment Tucson, from your neighbors in Sierra Vista. Unparalleled music compositions performed by the BEST symphonic metal band on this natural planet. Tuomas is simply pure genius. We think this portion of this album deserves more attention from reactors. Thanks, Bo Jangles, for doing this. Stay safe.

Cats are like the Nature in our homes (i know, i have one too) 😅🐈. I haven't seen this video before. It's well done and beautiful. They asked sir David Attenborough to do the narrating. Unfortunately he had no time. It's a pity. Geraldine James did a wonderful job there. Mostly i remember her for a little role as a "cold" Swede in David Fincher's brilliant Stieg Larsson adaptation "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo". I reside so north in Finland, that "Aurora Borealis" is quite a common phenomenon here. Haha, we have also cold and snow a little bit more than we actually need. I can borrow some to you if you want. Haha, actually i'm going to ice fishing tomorrow 🎣. I must frankly confess, that i'm not a big fan of this CD 2 content (CD 1 is excellent). Tuomas could take more artistic risks with it. But it was great to explore it with you. Thanks! ⛄👍

Corporate America gets in the way of great music and more diversity. One of the down side of capitalism. This entire piece illustrates Tuomas mastery of painting emotional pictures and sonic landscapes with his musical ideas.

This is just a stunningly beautiful masterpiece by Tuomas & fan video is an expertly crafted & breathtaking accompanyment. If your kitty is chronically licking he might be having reactions to food. Chicken allergies in pets is really happening more now - I don't know what manufacturers are doing but we run a pet food bank and we see tons of cats & dogs developing allergies to it. They get really itchy or hot spots. Cats can also rip the the hair out in spots or get rashes. As well all dry pet food has tiny mites that you cannot see & some pets are allergic. You can kill if you keep food in the freezer or freeze for 30 days. Don't forget to freeze treats too. If a meat allergy you can do an elimination diet - only one kind of meat at a time for 3 - 4 weeks to see if a difference. Careful though, many that say only 1 type of meat will still have chicken meal or another chicken based additive - you must read ingredients. Cats also lick if they are unsure or anxious. If legal in your state pet CBD oil can help with anxiety. :)

FYI, radio stations have to pay royalties to play the music they do on the air (ie. paying for the use of copyrighted material), you tuber's don't, hence why they are restricted in what and how they use copyrighted music. So not "fishy" at all. Thanks for the reactions, really enjoyed them. Cheers!

You should move to the Netherlands. Snow is only 1 or 2 days here and it's gone again. Just long enough to go yay, that looks so purrty! And short enough that it doesn't start to annoy you. lol The whispers in the snow are all saying the same but in different languages: "Quiet as the Snow." They do use orchestra and choirs. That's why their music feels so big and powerful. I think by now they're pretty well known in both the classical music world and the science world. For instance they worked with the London Philharmonic Orchestra before. (Unapologetic name dropping). The one that also did the music for Lord of the Rings.

Your cat may have an allergy. Go to the vet before/if he gets bald spots from licking. The vet will give him a painkiller injection and that helps take the itch away. My cat had flea allergy bald spots from licking, scratching, gnawing. It helped. All his hair grow back and itch was gone.

What a wonderful journey. I tend to listen from start to finish when I need to clear my head after work. If I have to pick a favourite then it has to be The Moors. I absolutely love the uilleann pipes and Troy plays it beautifully. BTW we had a cat that seemed to lick himself 24/7. The exceptions were sleep and "Feed me" time!!

In some of the tracks here it sounds like Tuomas is exploring with "getting back to his roots" of writing Nordic folk music. I get those vibes in many places. See, for example, the "Lappi" trilogy on their first album, "Angels Fall First." /// Regarding excessive licking or chewing for no apparent reason, (assuming it is probably not biting fleas for an indoor cat) next time you take him to the Vet, ask him to do a thyroid blood test. In humans by far the most common thyroid problem is underactive, for which we must take a hormone supplement to replace what we're not producing. In cats, by contrast, a very, very common problem is the opposite of ours: overactive thyroid. Cats with hyperthyroidism will exhibit all kinds of weird reactions that have no other apparent cause. High on the list (aside from frequent puking) is a tendency to attack all kinds of phantom itches that pop up suddenly and must, I imagine, feel like they're being tormented constantly by non-existent flea bites. Often, if you watch closely, you can see them twitching and undulating the skin along their backbones before biting and licking at it or just suddenly running around in circles. If the blood test shows hyperthyroid, the vet can give him a drug (forget the name) that interrupts the metabolic pathway in which T3 is converted to the active T4 form, thereby alleviating the symptoms and negative health effects.

First Time I listened to it I fell into a very comforting trance (or I don't know how to call it). Not asleep, but not far away from it... till the moors "woke" me up xD Wonderful to calm down and a blessing for the ears. This whispering in "snow" is great, i think i read somewhere it is "snow" in different languages. Ad Astra got me always tearing up. Nightwish's video "Ad Astra" is also worth a view.
