I think what got me specifically is the desperation in the " Tommy help me! ". Looking for anyone, or anything that could save the one thing he has. His entire life is centered around making sure Sarah is okay. His world is torn away all of the sudden and he begs his brother to help him. And then Sarahs acting. Nico Parker is her name. Oh. My. God.

It's facinating to me to see the difference in reaction between those who played the game and those who didn't. People that didn't play it look all stress and then worried and then sad. Those who player, the second the scene starts until the end, they have that face that say "That's it... This is the moment.."

Most people would go batshit crazy especially while during a apocalypse because you have no place to go, no time to recuperate, no medication just you and your mind which is going insane thinking what you could have done what you shouldn't have done while blaming and doubting yourself and others, some people would kill themselves because the pain and pressure is to unbearable, others will seek revenge while hoping for their own death at the same time.....and very few will pick themselves back up and continue surviving

I’ve played the game numerous times and Sarah’s death hurts while playing but not as much as the first. Watching the tv show version destroyed me way more than the game version. I was a blubbering crying mess. Fantastic first episode. I cannot wait for episode two.

If the non-gamer audience think this is the "most heart wrenching scene" of the series, wait till they watch "The Two Brothers" scene (if they adapted it into this series that is) which depicts how the elder brother Henry killed his infected younger brother Sam before taking his own life... That scene hit me the hardest and it make me stopped playing the game for almost two weeks before resuming... 😔

Speaking of feeling worse, I just realized that Tommy also might have been affected by this moment too. • he wasn’t fast enough to prevent the soldier from shooting them • he had to kill one of his Brothers-in-Arms • he had to watch his niece die in the arms of his brother • he’s a combat vet so I imagine that he already knew that there was nothing they could do to save her

I knew it was coming was watching it with my fiancée. Like 3 minutes before she saw me crying and asked me why. All I could muster was “I don’t like this part” and I couldn’t stop crying for the next 10 minutes. I have a young son and I just can’t stand watching a father lose their child like that. Truly powerful stuff right here. Everyone should be proud of themselves for making this hit harder than the games did.

I cried at this point like a toddler. Same like Mary and Nikki, even though I saw the scene in the game x times and knew what was happening. I was very skeptical about Pedro and Bella as Joel and Ellie. But they do it incredibly well. It feels straight out of the game. Also the others ... Sarah, Tommy, Tess, Marlene. My conclusion after this episode: I've never been so captivated by the start of a series based on a story I know inside and out.

The Last Of Us Sarah's death reminds me of what happened in Myanmar over these years since Military Coup. A lot of people including young children got shot by the Military. Whenever I see the last of us Sarah's death, I still grieve for the parents who lost their children.

I got my fam together to watch the first episode when it dropped. Btw, I was the only one who played the game. They hooked to the show. They thought the soldier was going to help Joel and Sarah and they were happy for a second. When after the scene, I looked at their faces and saw them tearing up. Now it’s our daily thing to get together on Sunday and watch each episode together. That’s if I don’t stay up Saturday night.
