Not one reactor noticed the 8 track player. I'm aging myself but I remember my parents having one of those in their stereo along with a record player. This was one of my favorite scenes in this movie.

I think fans of this scene should know that a rocket powered car or one that drives on a ceiling are not alien technology but actually possible. For the last one, Formula 1 cars could with their downforce, and so could a fan car, like the most famous example of it, the Chaparral 2J.
