The tower structure and the giant globe are real and are located in Flushing, Queens, NYC. The iconic structures are leftover from the 1965 New York World's Fair. The structures are also near the New York Mets Baseball stadium , Arthur Ashe Tennis Stadium, The Queens Zoo, and Queens Botanical Gardens. The scene near the tour bus is Grand Central Station on 42nd Street along eastside Manhattan. The scene where the alien is leaping from the building is located at the Guggenheim Museum of Art on Fifth Avenue across from Central Park.

That's Grand Central Station, and Park Avenue, moving Uptown from, it looks like, the 46th Street side. And we wind up at the Guggenheim Museum, on Fifth Avenue and 88th Street. The Guggenheim is a great museum, especially its design, which is that very cool spiral. The wall where the alien flips before running to the Guggenheim is for Central Park.

I wonder if anyone else is also noticing how movies from that era felt more natural? It's hard to pin down, maybe its the film itself, its color, maybe its the more relaxed tone, unburdened comedy, maybe actors were better? Maybe directors were crazier? I would take 2 good movies like this a year than the 100s of trash for "modern audiences" we get today.

Why didn't they just flash that memory messer upper on the whole planet and tell everyone that aliens have always been here, and that we all get along? 😂 That would've saved all the secrets and lies in all the agent's lives. Guys, thanks for the great reaction, this is one of my favorites of the 90s, for the first time I was very impressed with the creativity of the plot and special effects) By the way, the makeup of the decaying masked Beetle that impressed you won an Oscar in 1998! If you do not immediately want to resort to watching part 2, I can recommend, alas, in the USA it is very underestimated due to the discrepancy with the canonical series, but for many in the rest of the world successful films with Will Smith and Salma Hayek in the key of a fantastic comedy western - Wild Wild West (1999) from the same director of Men in Black! I like to watch different reactions to films, but I haven't found anything specifically about this film yet, maybe you'll be interested in a similar picture!)

You may wish to be aware that Marvel had nothing to do with the creation of Men in Black and have not touched the franchise in 27 years. Men in Black was created by Lowell Cunningham at Aircel Comics, which then merged with Eternity Comics (itself a sub-division of Malibu Comics). Malibu Comics was the publisher for Image Comics when that company launched during their first year in 1992. The comic industry was going through a boom at the time and several companies were riding high on superheroes. So after Image got their feet of the ground and began publishing their own comics the following year, Malibu decided to change gears with their independent comics and make their own shared superhero comic universe. Within a year, DC Comics was looking to acquire Malibu to give them a majority of the market share since their revenue had spiked thanks to launching the Image comics the year prior, but Marvel decided to swoop in and buy them up before DC could do it themselves as a tactic to remain the market leader So by 1994, Malibu became an entity of Marvel Comics and over the next year, several Malibu books were relaunched as an offshoot of Marvel; however, this was short-lived as bubble hovering over the comic book industry burst and a series of poor decisions by Marvel almost caused the industry to collapse and thrust Marvel itself into bankruptcy. The Malibu line was cancelled and has seen almost nothing in print since the late 90s. The only caveat for Malibu being that many of their colorists began moving over to Marvel comics directly. Even though Marvel owns the MIB property, they only ever released 4 issues in 1997, which were a combination of reprints and a movie adaptation tie-in. HOWEVER... step back a few years and the film rights to the Men in Black comic were already sold in 1992, with the film going into pre-production before Marvel purchased Malibu. By the time movie was released, Marvel had already owned Malibu outright. The original credits in theaters and on video listed the movie as based on the Malibu and Marvel Comic. The credit has since been updated to reflect that it is wholly owned by Marvel.

Be careful popping your neck like that Blake. It’s safer to lean your head side to side while keeping it pointed straight ahead. Twisting the head to pop the neck can get your vertebrae and discs out of alignment at the least, causing pressure on nerves and radiating pain in the arms and fingers, and possibly dislocation, and permanent nerve damage, at the worst. Not trying to tell ya what to do, just don’t want you to be harmed. I used to do the same thing when I was young, and still have occasional neck and arm pain. Nice movie reaction!
