READ Description! Cat having Heart Attack. Heart Disease (He was under the care of a Vet).

Update to edit: This video was made to show the Vet his "Attack". He was diagnosed and under the care of a Vet. He was diagnosed with having heart failure. He has since passed and will be missed greatly. (He DID NOT pass while filming this video!!) -The video was made to rule out a seisure. He did not pass away while I was taking the video. He was a beloved member of our family. After this attack he got up and acted like nothing ever happened. ..... During the episode he was..Panting, crying, also hissing, with drool. He also urinated and got up staggered almost fell over then came out of it. Episode lasted about 10 min. I am keeping this video up to help someone else who may have a pet going through the same thing. Rude comments will be removed.

Thank you! I had a cat with cardiomyopathy, but he passed away at 19. He didn’t pant, but his heart raced and he fell over. I held him while he died. He’d been treated at the vet for 4 1/3 years, and was in multiple organ failure and end stage kidney disease, as well. It was time, and he purred when I picked him up and held him on my chest, then seemed to fall asleep but didn’t wake. I’m so glad he went peacefully, and I could be there with him. It’s sorry about your loss. ❤

I appreciate that you made and shared this video of your late kitty. I had an elderly cat, years ago, who had similar episodes except she would collapse and let out a low howl. Two different emergency vets dismissed my concerns until one finally said “what do you want me to do?” And I said “do diagnostics on her heart and lungs!” And low and behold, she had a heart condition and her heart was swollen and surrounded by fluid. Thank you for sharing this video to help other people, even though I’m sure it’s hard sometimes.

I just lost my baby to this condition today. It came out of nowhere and I, too, was videoing to show to the vet. He passed in my arms on the way to the vet. I was just on here trying to find information to see if there was anything that I missed or that I could have done to save him, even thought the vet said there wasn’t. But he was only 9 and indoors only. When I watched your video and read your description it was exactly what happened with my Watson… only he didn’t come out of it. I’m so sorry for loss, but I am grateful to you for posting this because I now don’t feel like it was my fault for missing something I should have seen.

Thank you for posting this. My boy died suddenly when he was 4 years old. We were actually on our way to the vet for a check-up when he started making weird meowing noises. When we stopped to check on him, he was just like this except he was also pacing and had peed and pooped. He unfortunately passed away before we got him to the vet. I never really knew what happened because the vet didn’t autopsy, but they suspected it was a heart attack due to HCM. He never had any symptoms before, no heart murmur, nothing. I’ve been too scared to look up videos to figure out what may of happened, but since my dog is now having issues, I thought I’d check out seizures and heart attacks in cats as well. Thank you for posting this so I could finally have an answer. I’m told nothing much can be done for cats with heart issues so I’m just glad he lived a good, pain-free playful life before he passed.

I woke up one evening to my cat asleep next to me, I cuddled him close and realised from Intuition he was going to have a heart attack, he was diagnosed with HCM at 3 and died at around 4/5 years old. Luckily, we spent our goodbye together and he was a strong boy, the process of euthanasia was started before the heart attack got too severe, he even walked over to me & cuddled his head Into me while I rubbed his throat and chest to help the fluid. We've done so many tests on my cat and it seems like she has the most severe presentation of feline asthma I've ever heard of, as opposed to heart failure, but I can't stop worrying, and asthma is bad enough already. Our boy Desi had these symptoms Monday morning - we tried rushing him to an emergency animal hospital but all the ones by us were closed for memorial day and it was also 5AM. We had to rush to a different city but he passed away during the car ride. He was so scared and I feel so bad but we had to try to save him. I am so so sorry for your loss. I completely know what you are going through, as my kitty did the same thing 3 days ago, rushed him to the ER and had another episode there. Less than 24 hours later, we had to make the difficult decision to let him pass peacefully. We believe he waited until we got there to say goodbye to him. His temperature had dropped to mild hypothermia temp and his breathing had slowed. So heartbreaking. HMC can go to hell.

One of my girls had some kind of ear problem and in the end it got so bad she needed surgery. The vet wasn't sure if it maby was a tumor, ot was impossible to tell, but he said there was a chance it would grow back. Exactly two weeks later she suddenly jumpt down my bed and ran off (typical for her so far), walking in circles on insteady legs a room over, head tilted to the side and salivating the same way. My youngest cat came running allerting us. Our vet came into his office in the middle of the night to check on her. She had a stroke, was blind now, probably halfway unable to properly move her right side and she seemed severely confused. It was probably either bleeding of the wound in her skull or whatever was there already finally messing her up. We decided to have her put down, as she may have recovered, but she would have been absolutely miserable for the short time she may have had left. I still miss her like crazy.

I had to put het down with my hubby on the phone Happen 3 weeks ago back in march of this year... Can you explain what exactly to expect in this situation? When do cats have seizures episodes? Are there other types? I know a cat owner that says the cat has flue like symptoms but I could see some neurotic movements in the body and it starts to have saliva coming out of its mouth and tear drops. So I was wondering what it is. The owner says it happens once in a while and it disappears the day after. I encouraged the owner to see a vet about it. But, I am curious to know why this happens, and how the care should be after these episodes.

This is one side if KZbin that I love and hate. Easily accessible info but so many judgemental assfuckedbyahorse people. Last year a vet...a medically trained and licensed VET told me the cyst on my dogs leg was benign and not to worry about it...my dad who was visiting this week and he played with him frequently and as a retired military, he's very observant, and not once mentioned a knot or swelling in the location of the cyst. Yesterday after I let the dogs out for their bathroom break, and when I let the two of them back in...my older dog has a fucking HOLE in his leg, that was not there when I let him out. The cyst has ruptured. Called my dad up and asked him if he'd noticed anything before, told him what happened, and he walked me through assessing, cleaning and removing the cyst, cleaning again and stitching it up.

Asked us if we wanted him to try and bring her back. She had already been without oxygen on her own for. 10 or 20 minutes. We said no just let her go. Even my service dog was whimpering. Looking at me as if to ask why is sis not coming home with us. It totally ripped my heart out.

Ftm MGTOW He had a seizure. He felt no pain. A seizure is like going to the deepest part of sleep instantly. That is where you block out everything around you and all you do is nothing. You don’t realise a seizure is happening, luckily he didn’t really act like anything happened once it was over though.

Andy S he had an echo cardiogram done as well as a full blood work up. One of the blood test shows how hard the heart is working.... his values were in the 600s normal is 100 so they knew something was going on with his heart. I thought these were neurological until the Vet saw these videos and a full blood work up was done as well as cardiologist work up done.

I am sorry for your cat and your loss. This was hard to watch because he is in distress, but he doesn’t know what’s going on - only that he doesn’t feel good. And from my point of view he really doesn’t look that bad (other than the drooling) so I wouldn’t have understood he was in distress because he doesn’t speak out language. This is educational thank you.

I'm so sorry for your loss..what a strong little baby to fight. He looked so scared! But I also just thank you for sharing this! I'm going to school for vet care and I'm looking at animal videos. Ones having heart attack, randomly passing out, seizures, ECT. Knowing this is how cats are during a heart attack, this helps me learn what to look for! Especially when I get my own pet! Again, thank you for sharing and I'm so sorry for your loss. Biggest condolences to you and your family
