Makes me wonder if they ever would've taken out your old modded content if no one had called them out on it. Very last minute patch. I am guessing the PS5/Switch version update were held up in Sony and Nintendo's approval security processes and didn't get pushed through before the game launched, which is why the release game was on an older version. I don't know if it's true but I read online patches typically take 5 business days from PlayStation to approve where Xbox is like 2

The cheek of it honestly… how could they mess up a 20 year old game so badly. I would’ve rather they just hired people like you and the modding community to make the game lmao, because you are all actually passionate. BF3 legacy etc and the whole remastered mod for the 2005 version is better than the classic collections “remaster” it’s crazy. I can already see how much you guys would actually do for the game you’d probably implement mods for Xbox atleast (fuck sony) and other features we were hoping for the game (clone legions and stuff) (maps) (anything better than the half baked disaster Aspyr have created) the worse part is you can just buy the original for a fraction of the price and play mods that actually do something good for the game rather than this thing that seems to have been built by 7 year olds

Aspyr really didn't even bother to put in the bare minimum for this "remaster." Shit like this is why I keep telling people to stop asking for new Battlefront content, it'll either be disappointing at best or broken at its worst. The only people I genuinely trust to faithfully remake, remaster, or create anything new for the franchise are the fans.

Yeah weird on PC in the collection this map is daylight and im used to it being dark on the ps2 version.

Unrelated to the video, but I got a question to you since you are a Battlefront modder and would be better equipped to explain to me this: Harrisonfog left a Negative Review on the Battlefront Classic Collection where he said that the Classic Collection repack breaks most mods for PC due to changes in the file system. *Can you please explain to me in detail what he means by the file system in the Classic Collection breaking most Battlefront mods? Does he mean that there is no chance that the Classic Collection will get proper mod support at all?*

Classic Collection has full mod support. Just most mods are broken due to a renamed folder, a missing file and the lack of the community made 1.3 patch. Renaming addon to addon2 has broken map names, this is due to Pandemic's example script that adds maps to the IA menu being flawed by requesting a file from only a addon folder, not addon2 - this was easily patched and has a fix already. The missing file is all.lvl, also known as the rebels side file. This was split into 2 files all1.lvl and all2.lvl in the rerelease breaking any mods that load the default rebels. This has been patched in a community fix yet to be released. The community made 1.3 patch mod was a very old mod that a lot of modders use. It adds support for custom era and gamemodes. It was never a requirement and needs to be remade every time there is a new update or rerelease. Modders have and now still have the option to remove 1.3 patch requirements from their mods. Only Battlefront 1 has completely broken mod support due to the change from lua 4 to lua 5 which can be fixed by recompiling a Battlefront 1's scripts using the Battlefront 2 compiling tools. HarrisonFog makes mods that replace base game files rather than adding content to the game. His mod will break whenever a base game file is changed or updated.

Any mod can already be made to work, and any future mod can be made to work with both games without the need for patches.

@@LonelyDragonModding Ah, ok. That makes sense now. So no Version 1.3 patch needed anymore for mods working on Classic Collection. But wait, so is it possible to play BF2 multiplayer games with say mods that add the KOTOR and Republic Commando eras and game modes? Or that's out of the picture for Classic Collection due to these mods possibly changing base game files to have them work with BF2?

Not at the moment, potentially in the future but pretty much all modders are boycotting support for the Classic Collection in protest of how bad everything is and how we weren't consulted@@generalcjg

How long was this Remaster in development? 1 year? 2? Could explain the old version. What the hell have they done in all this time to have to make a last minute patch for this. I can only imagine after your stolen mod drama came to public they panicked and tried to get the original Xbox Version
