Thanks Olga this was a great help, though I , am finding it difficult at the moment to keep up with the pace of your speech as I try to match the text. Although I'm sure this will improve with time.

Hi Olga. I'm an American of Ukrainian descent who is just now starting to study the language of my ancestors. Don't know if I will ever be fluent, but I'll give it a good try! Your videos are a great encouragement for the task. With the current war in mind I want you to know that I pray for your country every day. GOD BLESS UKRAINE!!!

Hi Olga¡ It's me, Marco. Finally today I start learning ukrainian¡¡¡ I don't know how start, so I am starting with the very basic, the alphabet, I'm writing in a notebook (with the ukrainian shield and colors) all symbols of ukrainian alphabet, so I can recognize faster the words in ukrainian. I am trying to set my computer to write in ukrainian too, but I just find russian :/ When I get some level I will be able to read ukrainian text with you :) I visited you blog, there are very beautiful images, so I downloaded one, I hope you don't mind ;) Wish me luck¡

Оля, почитай щось з художньої літератури, яка краще передасть інтонації живої мови. Наприклад "Енеїду", "Причинну", новели Стефаника, Коцюбинського, або Панаса Мирного "Хіба ревуть воли, як ясла повні" тощо...

So cool! I've always wanted to learn the language of my ancestors. Can you read Ukrainian language phonetically?
@Olga_Reznikova9 жыл бұрын
Nikolai Harhai Yes, I read it phonetically in all my language lessons) Or what you mean?
@matthewharhai40399 жыл бұрын
Was wondering if you could sound out the words if you know the letters of the Ukrainian alphabet.

And what you write in anchient Russian (wich was created in 17 century) in one way and read in other?? letter "o" you read like "a" in non-stress letters??? Oh, c'mon, it's just Moscow dialect! And in that situation, we read "ться" like "ця"... "o" we read like "у" .... So you mean this?
@Olga_Reznikova9 жыл бұрын
Oh. so language which was created in 18 century is anchient, and language from 19 centure is the newest??? Good point! "in Russian we write Г but can pronounce it either Г or К or В" - it's Moscow dialect! Look how people in Volga region speak, Mordovia, Komi and other......

I don't tell that Ukrainian is anchient, I just wonder why you call Russian though! Ukrainian langauge was created in 50-100 years after official Russian.It's not such a hudge time difference between anchient and the newest)))) So in your logic Volga is anchient car, and Lada - the newest invention of Russia?
