I’m 42 ( yes you read that right 😁) and I still don’t know what I wanna do when I grow up 👍 I think that’s quite normal. The key is to give yourself permission to stay curious, to keep trying different things, to change your mind. That’s doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It’s just part of being human.

The House on the Cerulean sea definitely has small town vibes! I can also recommend Legends & Lattes, which is fantasy slice of life in a small town, and the protagonist is an orc trying to open a coffee shop after retiring from doing heist jobs. It has a slow burn romance in it and it's adorable.

Little beach street bakery fits the small town vibe as well :) it’s pretty cute and relaxing. This book is basically about a 30-something year old woman moving to a British village after a crisis in her life and baking bread lol the main love interests are a fisherman and a beekeeper. Honestly, this book turned out to be deeper than I thought it was going to be but it’s still pretty silly

I don't know if you're into murder mysteries, but Louise Penny's books are super cozy set in a tiny little Canadian town where everyone knows each other and with quirky characters ans the mystery parts are really good, so I highly recommend. The first book is set in autumn, the second in winter and so on. Trust me, those books have the vibes. Also really recommend the Guernsey Literary and Potato Peal Pie Society if you haven't read it.

12:25 These kinds of books are very common if you know where to look. They're called Cozy Mysteries, and they come in a myriad of sub-genres, including "witchy" ones. There's always a murder mystery of some kind, solved by a woman amateur sleuth in a small town. There's no cursing or sex or gratuitous violence, so there's no gross details about how the victim died/they don't die in horrific ways.

Most of the reason why I clicked on this video is because my mom watches Gilmore Girls RELIGIOUSLY, like my brother can sing the theme song well. For a small-town vibe, you might like Sinclair Lewis' Main Street. Somewhere around 1930, Lewis received the Nobel prize for literature - tho largely on the strength of Arrowsmith (a doctor matures to his destiny as a plague-fighter) and Elmer Gantry (a somewhat corrupt but popular preacher). Today, he is often cited for It Can Happen Here. Not his best novel but anti-fascism remains an important passion.

Yes, it is very good; I finally finished it early this month. I really liked where Bronte took us, and how she got there. Even in the one part where the co-incidence necessary to advance the story seems contrived, a little analysis demonstrates its reasonableness.
