My Loki Critique has become my most viewed video on my channel to date. And with that amount of views comes a significant amount of comments. In this video, I take a look at some of them.

my main issue with loki is that the writers are basically writing loki like they would jack sparrow. instead of loki being an evil mastermind who always has a plan (like he was originally intended to be), he's condensed down to silly and kooky. imo loki really only works as the ambiguous villain, he was never meant to be the tragic antihero that the mcu is pushing so hard for him to be

What i hate most about loki is that it confuses timelines with multiverses and uses the two terms interchangeably, whichtotallybrakes the whole premise of the show. A universe can have multiple timelines, when we have to make a decision a timeline branches out in it there is u who choose differently, america chavez can jump universes not timelines. 838 universe could have a different timeline where they took Wanda seriously, or where their Dr.strange didn't tamper with the evil book. At least that how I understand it. That's why the existance of different of some lokis makes zero sense, at least to me, if we r only talking about timelines; like crocodile loki why is he there? What decisions did he make that didn't align with what kang wanted? if the sacred timeline is the only one he wants to keep how the hell does a crocoloki even exist? Same for female loki, by the show's logic shouldn't they have taken her and rest the timeline the moment she was born? If so why should they its not a choice she did made. We saw in the show that they arrested her when she was a child playing in asgard. what? did she choose the wrong toy to play with that when we take her. I agree with you loki had the potential to be the bigest hits of marvel I honestly imagined that we would get Doctor who X God of mischief instead we got a stupid dump watered-down loki who is sorry to be a man so that Sylvie can take the spot lights just because she is a woman version of him

Alternate Timelines and multiverses, in my experience, have always been presented as the same thing. Every time I’ve seen a movie/show use the idea of the multiverse, the explanation for its existence has always been that the different universes are just different timelines where people made different choices. As for them not taking variants like female Loki or alligator Loki at the moment of birth, that’s honestly something that bothered me as well. My head cannon is that Kang doesn’t care about ALL variations, only the ones that lead to alternate Kangs. Of course this explanation isn’t perfect either, but it’s the best I’ve got considering the writers clearly didn’t bother to think it through.

You know who would be much better for running the sacred timeline? Thanos. His whole thing is killing/harming others for the greater good. And if Kang didn’t want him killing half the universe, he could use a bunch of Infinity Stones to alter his mind and make him see the error of his ways.

Ya totally agree with your original video, whoever was in charge of Loki actually destroyed the connected universe they were trying to build. And all they had to do was read the stories and improve upon the many ideas that were put in place by marvel, it could have been glorious… I guess I’m the only one who didn’t absolutely hate Thor two, The dark elves lore was cool, I wish they went deeper though.

Loki not being all for killing Kang felt so wrong to me. Kang, as is established in the show, is a person who enforces the most absolute order. Loki, by his very nature--as the god of mischief--is a force of chaos, and should be his polar opposite (a major reason it's dumb that Kang thinks Loki could be his replacement). It would have been poetic if at the climax of the show, the god of mischief killed Kang, restoring the chaos of the multiverse and giving people back their free will.

But the show was all about Sylvie's journey and her goals. As soon as he meets her his story stalls out. He doesn't have goals except helping her. He is deferential an fawning to her. She never responds positively to him, he never has a win. So Sylvie Gid of Chaos did have her grand victory. Loki is just a bystander caught up in her story. The scene at the farm on Lamentis is the best example for me. Why wouldn't he be charming and get the information successfully after she kicks in the door? Because he can't have a win, can't do anything well ever. She failed so he has to fail harder. They aren't complementary and don't work well together, his strengths don't fit into her weaknesses- partially because her "faults" never cause her any real problems. She could have done everything by herself more efficiently without him, Classic [Grant] Loki or one of the others could help her enchant Alioth, she's loved by everyone she meets so she could convince any of them to do it.

the best thing they could have done to fix the thing would be a null zone. Basicaly a bubble or device that completely stop all power/physical enhance/cosmic power allowing the tva to capture super powered being far easier OR a device that scale higher then anything basicaly a universal scale time stop power by multiple time stone. As we know now that all infinity stone can be used in other universes has well to be a treat to the multiverse.

So.. TVA is outside timeline, they can teleport literally everywhere anytime. But then Owen Wilson explains that whenever there's a branch, they can only enter in real time, as the event happens. How? They are literally outside the timeline. They are not bound by timeline of the events that happen in the timeline. Also if they really can pick and choose time and location where they show up, how are they still working on timeline? There's 1 timeline with 1 flow of time, so once they have patched a branching events year-by-year and are currently in, lets say 1999, then they literally have nothing else to do in timeline prior to 1999. Only variants, like Sylvie, could affect branching, but for that to happen, they'd need to be "spawned in real time", not back in time that was already combed through by TVA. On top of that for further time branches, such variant would need means of moving through time. Also how often do they repeat the timeline? We see plenty of Lokis in bumFnowhere, which means time had to loop to the start. What does that mean about TVA agents? Are they looping with time? Or are they hired, as they become variants themselves. But then variants aren't exactly "fixed". You can be variant once, but not the other time. Also what's up with the size of TVA. It looks cool, but.. why would they need a whole city of TVA agents if there's only 1 time flow. They could literally work with just 1 team that would have backlogged branches for millennia. But if branches happen in realtime, and the size is whole universe, then they'd need a TVA the size of the universe... Makes no bloody sense.

Do you realize that Loki is nothing but an attempt to do a serious version of Rick and Morty? I didn’t realize the writer wrote for that show but it makes perfect sense. The ‘sacred timeline’ is the same thing as the ‘central finite curve’ which is what evil Morty is trying to escape. So evil Morty is Sylvie. The Citadel of Ricks are Kang and the TBA. And Rick and Morty are just regular Loki. I may have those mixed up a little bit because I don’t give a crap about one show and I don’t take the other one that seriously. Glad you’re getting views. But Marvel is dead Disney is dead. I’ve gone back almost exclusively to books. I don’t even watch the shows but I still watch people review them because I like to keep up for some reason on how cancerous they have become.

Not quite. As a matter of fact, it's the Rick & Morty series that borrows from an awful script Mike Waldron wrote a couple years ago and which he entirely rehashed for the Loki series. It's titled “The Worst Guy of All Times and the Girl Who Came to Kill”. The script can be found online easily. It's... Not good. And it's pretty much the Loki show's story.

24:22 The ending of Loki was supposed to imply that he indeed was the cause of the multiverse problem. The TVA exists in an area outside of time and this is the pre-sequel to all of the multiverse stuff. Loki is living in a loop he created.

The infinity stones were somewhat inconsistent in the show cause captain carter used the space stone to somehow travel to the future and not the time stone. Also the ancient one making two universes in the same universe using the time stone makes no sense if we were to go by Endgame and Loki logic.

The thing about the Sacred Timeline at least the way I see it is that it can be changed but only up to a point so yeah being stung by a bee when u weren't supposed to isn't gonna bring the TVA on u but losing an eye would. As for Sylvie's nexus event she was playing hero with her toys which would have major implications for the Sacred Timeline. This is also why Kang can make Loki and Sylvie the future they want on the timeline. He Who Remains can adjust the timeline the same way u can choose a different phone but there are limits. A Nexus event is when someone makes a radically different choice that can affect everything not just that free will is gone

I don't think the timeline branched because Kang didn't know what was going to happen, I think it was the other way around. It starts branching so Kang is like "Oh now idk what's going to happen", that doesn't mean him not knowing caused the branch inherently. Idk what caused the branching, it's not clear. Maybe Kang did decide that he was to stop managing it just then (Idk why he would but the motivation in this show are all over the place) Or maybe for some other cosmic reason the timeline was already going to start branching at that time regardless of Kang and now that it is, he doesn't know what's gonna happen? There's no clear logical explanation but I don't think Kang's knowledge is the reason tbh

It's like what happened with the game Back4Blood, the developers, Turtlerock Studios advertised heavily with "from the makers of Left4Dead", which sure the game is a spiritual successor of it, and they did create it. But in actuality only 6 of the original devs worked on B4B, and Valve (who owned them at the time of L4D) did a lot of the heavy lifting. B4B then flopped and cant even compete in player count with L4D which released over a decade ago

The thing about Loki using the tessaract poorly; he used it well enough to not get himself spaced, which is basically statistically impossible without a high degree of control. But also, narratively, what was the benefit of having him appear in the sky and shoot towards earth like a meteor? The lulz. That's it, it has no other purpose than to show us straight away that Loki is going to be a punching bag in this show, as we see when he's taken out in one hit just a minute or so later. So at best, that particular detail was Family Guy levels of "random shit happening" humor. So saying "Well, his control would have been limited!" isn't so much justifying the narrative as it is making up an excuse for the existence of an unnecessary joke.

Disney shouldn't refuse to hire anyone who doesn't have a mile-long record of successful screenplays, sure, but Disney has gotten into the habit of hiring freaking nobodies to write, or even direct, absolutely massive projects. This isn't just a matter of talent; it's like taking skiers on the bunny hill and throwing them onto the triple black diamond run. These people have no idea what they are doing, are completely out of their depth, and there doesn't even seem to be any kind of check on them; outside of some studio mandates, there isn't a producer regularly checking to make sure things aren't going off the rails. Even a talented person can easily fail if handed a project that's massively larger than anything they've ever had to deal with before--you gotta build up to it.

I wanna clarify the way Kang's death works. The TVA is outside of time. Kang's variants and all other timelines currently do not, and have never existed as long as he is managing things. As soon as he dies, other timelines have now always existed. They didn't start suddenly, they were always there retroactively. Hopefully that makes sense.

That part where ‘Loki got arrested because he wasnt supposed to take the tesserect but then because he did take the tesserect he break and create free will and thats why captain america and tony is able to go back in time instead of getting arrested’ is basically creating the grandfather’s paradox. You can’t tell when exactly did Kang died since time and space exist simultaneously, and so one can argue that freewill and predetermined destiny exist at the same time during the whole mcu saga. Which makes things even more complicated. It would have been better if Loki wasn’t supposed to be arrested, but he just stumbled upon tva by accident. Since that means he did branch out of the timeline. I gave up on the show after ep 3 basically… i was so hype for it in the beginning then at the end it got really disappointing and not even about Loki anymore

Don't worry, you're right despite not having watched everything. Loki is the worst thing in the MCU. I would recommend giving Hawkeye a watch, it's the best thing in phase 4 (although overall it's like a 5/10, phase 4 sucks)

That oscar wilde qoute comment seems like one of those ai comments, it may have nothing specific to do with your video and was generated based on words and content in the video. I've seen a few of them, accounts seem to send them out and they are based on the type of video and give vague qoutes which can just be copied from the internet. the ai then sees that your video was a review and may have picked up on some words such as "opinion" and "character" and then chosen a qoute that roughly fits the bill. I dont know, I can't imagine someone just posting that qoute on a video about loki and not giving context.

I don't see how that is a contradiction. He saw possible futures, in which choices that are made there and now will affect future outcomes. When Someone makes a choice the TVA doesn't like, they come in and take them prisoner, kill them, and reset the timeline until it only goes one way, the way they want. The deal with Doctor Strange is not the same, because he saw possible futures. Difference is someone sees a possible future and knows what choices need to be made to lead to that future, While the TVA want it only one way and commit whatever heinous acts if it doesn't go that way.

The bombs destroy the timeline they are in, I understand that it's not what this show Shows us, but if that's not what's happening then why are the Timeline branches disappearing after... "Pruned"? (I fucking hate this term, underwhelms so much the cosmic fucking horror that is the genocide they are doing with each timeline erased) We are only shown the fart cloud eating individual people or that Ship because it would be expensive AND Difficult to portray a whole reality being eaten by the fart cloud. The show is shit and contradicts itself when it's not convenient, we can't have a in universe explanation because nothing in this show is done with in-universe logic, it's out of universe "Is it convenient for us? will it make us money?" Decisions, and so displaying an entire reality being killed is not viable but it sure is what they contradictorily show us later with whole timelines disappearing on the monitor thing. Besides, if they are *Not* erasing the entire universe from the alternate timelines, then... whats the point of trying to evade the multiversal war? one time line only, one universe only, that's the whole point of their thing, letting other universes exist and only kill the specific people makes no sense

All they needed was natural simplification. Timelines that are identical collapse together into one stable timeline. So if the universe where you ate cereal Monday and a granola bar Tuesday and the timeline where you reversed that have no butterfly consequences, then eventually you forget what day you ate which thing and the two universes are identical, then those two timelines unify. Boom! The small charges suddenly make sense, pruning is less pure evil and more harnessing a natural process in a repugnant way.

Dormammu is basically a monster free of time yet got dragged by the never-ending loop by Dr Strange's spell and forced to retreat via bargain deal.
