As a dental student, it would be awesome to see more videos talking about dental school (the journey, etc), life after dental school. ... thanks a lot for the great videos ! :D

Hmmmmm, well... how different dental school is from the real world. What to expect, how to overcome the challenges etc. CE courses? learning curve from being a student to treating pts on your own, all while dealing with life at the same time? :D thank you

Thank you for this video ! I actually really appreciated the tangent at the beginning about your personal life, it really humanizes the image of a dentist as an actual person who undergoes the same life problems as everyone else. Your videos have been a great encouragement and reassurance, I am actually only a freshman in university on a Biomed Pre-Dental track, and I'm hoping to be a dentist one day. I'm having difficulty finding self confidence at this transitional point in my life, I don't know if I'm stressing myself out more than I should be, but I think every phase in life is supposed to have its uncomfortable struggles. Again thank you for your videos, your advice is nothing but authentic and I wish for you the best in any personal struggles you are having.

Your personal statement was very concise and even honestly incendiary in its impact. You gave ascertainable glimpses of yourself in the round. And I feel sure that your writing abilty was not disadvantageous either. Your easy, essay like pitch and tenor is smooth and pleasurable too. Thanks for sharing this.

@hawa64187 жыл бұрын
Luke Bin Rashid Heyy💕I'm a sophomore in undergrad and I will be applying next year:) I live in Colorado & there is only one dental school here (Anschutz). I'll also apply to dental schools in California because i have family there (UCSF, UoP)

Hi Dr Wendy, I am going into Grade 11 this year and I finished Grade 10 with a 3.3 GPA in science and I was wondering with that mark is it still possible to get into dental school or if my marks need to improve at all? Thank you so much for all of your videos they are sooo helpful :)

Hi Dr Wendy......did i read on your channel that you are a vegan. I have reaearching thiscabout what we should be putting into our bodies as opposed what we want to. Teeth are an indicator maybe...are they for herbs or carnivore or both. Could you give me your understandings of that. My friends are speaking to me about becoming a vegan. I do have a mixed doet and dont eat certain meats and less dairy. Thanks and great days to you
@DrWendy7 жыл бұрын
Certain foods are bad for your teeth of course - is that what you mean? I don't discourage any foods if my patients enjoy eating them, just practice good hygiene! But of course I condone a fully plant based vegan diet for your own health and for our planet :)
@betweenevenings7 жыл бұрын
Dr. Wendy hi....I meant are our teeth designed for meat eating or for vegan type foods such as herb and vegetable..seed, fruit and so on.....plant as you said. Or a combination of both. For example animals that eat meat such as big cats and so on have teeth and jaws to allow that. Meat that is grazed correctly on fresh grass and so on would be a good meat for human consumption.....at least I am looking into it from that prospective. I eat less meat but when I do it's this type that I eat...can I ask the main types of plants you eat? Thanks for speaking to me about this. Started yoga a few months ago and am seeing amazing changes in my body and feeling of well being
@DrWendy7 жыл бұрын
I think our teeth are mostly designed for plant foods. A lot of people claim that we are carnivores because we have canines... but actually the shape of our canines are not ideal for tearing and are more to protect our back molar teeth. These teeth are most efficient at chewing and mostly for tough fibrous foods like plants/vegetables. Hope that answers your question
@betweenevenings7 жыл бұрын
Dr. Wendy Hi, yes that's what was being considered. I'd been as you said, listening to all manner of theories about the teeth and wondered what the correct understanding was. We cook meat also which tenderises it, almost dissolving in the mouth if cooked correctly whilst animals tear and chew it raw. Does also beg the question about cooking plants, veg, seed, herbs and so forth. How much raw and uncooked do you eat in your vegan diet I wonder. Thanks very much for engaging with this....it's fascinating and am coming round more and more to plants and herbs. Good days

any tips on landing shadowing opportunities in undergrad?
@cheyennepatterson8513 жыл бұрын
Find people you know, who know a dentist. Most dentists are willing to allow people to shadow. I ended up meeting a friend through a mutual friend and she ended up calling her friend (who was a dentist) and he allowed me to shadow.
