Oh man! “Sinai says ‘come near and you die’ Calvary’s word is ‘come all who are weary’” Praise be!

Be careful about falling into the false understanding that the God of the O.T. was all about justice and that the God of the N.T. is all about love. That is not what the Bible teaches.

ALL who are weary! God commands ALL men everywhere to repent and obey the gospel. Acts 17:30. Christ died once for ALL. John 3:16. God is not responsible for man's blindness, Satan is 2 Cor. 4:4. CHRIST IS THE LIGHT of the world! He came to heal us and God wants NONE to perish!

He told them to come at Sinai and man ran away. Calvary is let me allow them another chance to come to the mountain.

Good morning brothers. Great to see and hear you both on a most important topic - the “one” that brought me to Theocast and most clarifying in approaching the Scriptures. Thank you.

At minute 6, it is important to understand this. Many legalist will claim the law and gospel distinction, but they end up still conflating the two. We need to distinguish them aright or as C.F.W. Walther says properly. Love the video

I am new to this channel. I need to watch again. I thought I understood grace and law. My theology is definitely being challenged. My prayer to the Lord has been that I don’t want to be deceived. I grew up Baptist , then went into deep Pentecostalism which lead to legalism and nearly my death! I became so depressed and found God to be the most difficult person to please. I just couldn’t pull it off. Then I was introduced to grace. Salvation in Christ alone through faith. But my convictions were much “ tighter,” for lack of a better term. The grace people were “free!”😂. I guess I was still a bit bound…. After that I believe I found. Balance. Then I married a man who belonged to a legalistic, harsh preaching, God wants to bless you “but”… again, it’s been 15 years of this and I feel dead inside. I know Jesus died for my sin and redeemed me and justified and regenerated me and is coming back for me! It’s just difficult to keep my mind right under this type of church leadership. I can’t leave or I will be ostracized. I’ve seen it happen too many times. Plus, if I leave, my husband will lose his position. It’s such a slippery slope.

Let's pray for this woman! I will pray for you. I can deeply empathize with your story, only my husband is who led me out of my NAR church, which was super hyper Charismatic and very legalistic. It holds to the "unless you're perfect Jesus isn't coming back", because they believe we have to bring him back, through our manifestation of the Holy Spirit and giftings

Leave baptistic theology and move to Classical Protestantism and you won't have so much wishy washy preaching and leadership in your church. Go Presbyterian or Anglican and you will find much joy and solace.

I hope this helps. You are not saved by your faith, you are saved by your faith . . . in Jesus! Your faith does not have to be perfect. Was David perfect? It ain't about you, it's about Him! He is perfect.

I wish you all did a video surrounding our involvement with politics. Maybe taking the approach of Founders Ministries with Tom Ascol because they have good content surround this topic. It would be nice hearing from you with the election around the corner. You have great content all around, but having a video on how to vote, how to think through the upcoming election, etc., would be so beneficial to many. I know you did a video a while back on this, but I don’t remember there being much conversation on how Christians should approach their decision making with the election.

They've done some content on Kingdom of God vs. kingdom of man stuff, which involves politics... I think it's safe to say they wouldn't be Ascol-esque 😂

Watching the US elections from the UK, and as a believer, I would say I have found 'Relatable' podcast, Jonny Ardavanis, and Ken Ham giving the most clarity on Christians & politics at the moment. Grateful for their advice- and I think you will find it biblical and helpful.

The lens you come to scripture with will determine what you see Law and Gospel was addressing those who were under the Law but were never to be the lens we have made it Jesus is the Lens We read about Him in the Gospels He is the Way the Truth and the Life See Him saying that to the disciples in context He is the Gospel Read the Book of Acts you will find that is what was preached Jesus

Given that ya'll are reformed, why do you speak in terms of Law-Gospel distinction rather than covenantal distinction?

Can a false gospel save?
@dwaynejohnson466215 күн бұрын
Only Jesus can save. I was under a false full gospel arminian situation that brought me to Christ. It took God several years to get me back to him as that gospel brought alot of deception and spiritual abuse. Because were predestined to salvation God will make sure we get saved no matter what. Remember Martin Luther as he was under a false gospel teaching until God showed him and used him hugely to bring the protestant reformation in.

10:51 - We glean them (hermeneutics) from what scripture says, "then glean them from what scripture says and then we go back into the text to help clean up our understanding.” It makes sense to get the lens from gleaning what the scripture says in order to help clean up our understanding. What did you read in scripture to glean the idea that the law is for all humanity in order to create this lens? You gave no reference that would create this lens, bypassing your own stated rule. I have asked this question multiple times without response, where in scripture is the Gentile introduced/invited to the law? Signed, Nevernomian
