Puebla is a city famous for mole sauce, but there is so much more to this colonial city. In this Puebla Mexico vlog we discover the golden churches, giant ferris wheels, and enormous gorditas of the 4th largest city in Mexico.
This week, we packed up from Grutas Tolantongo, an amazing hot springs camping experience featuring cliffside infinity pools, caves, and a teal river. This travel day was actually a positive when we got to sample a Hidalgo state local pastry dish (and it was beyond delicious). Continuing on towards Puebla, we settled into our home for the week: Las Americas Trailer Park in nearby Chulula. This is an excellent RV park with 24 hour security, beautiful landscaping, a pool, full hookups, and great hot water for showers if you want to use their facilities. For digital nomads like us, there is strong (and consistently higher speed) WiFi and a shopping center within walking distance for most anything you need to buy. We enjoyed working poolside or under our awning for change of scenery!
In the evening, we walked over to have dinner, drinks, and some late night Jazz in Cholula. First was rooftop dining at Cus Cus Cus, where we had a wide variety of dishes including trying Chapulines (grasshoppers) for the first time! We continued over to Jazzatlan club de jazz for some (no surprise given the name) live Jazz music and cocktails. There was a small cover charge and great music from the group "Fer Harada Loops & Groove featuring Diego Carbonell." The musicians would build and mix loops of themselves playing to create amazing harmonies and effects, quite the show and definitely a unique spin on Jazz!
Unfortunately, both Katelyn and I were fighting colds (definitely not coronavirus, just your run of the mill colds) so we stayed in for several of the days in Puebla. We did finally go out exploring a few afternoons, which means you get to join us on our journey around Puebla! We check out the city center, visit one of the most famous pottery companies, and yes eat food bigger than our heads! Welcome to Puebla!

I'm a new visitor to your Channel and love the idea of your trip and the RVing in Mexico!! We've been in Mexico a few times, but unfortunately not Puebla yet - but you have convinced me to add Puebla to our list to visit someday, soon. Love how tasty and affordable real Mexican food is - I would be like Katelyn with Joker face when I eat the food LOL INCLUDING MACDONALD'S! Beautiful church and amazing how intricate everything is! Thank you for sharing and great job, guys. I just subbed to follow your amazing journey in Mexico (for now)

😂 Katelyn's reaction was genuine, I said, "look at your face right now" and she hit record! We have loved visiting the smaller cities of Central Mexico, and would recommend anyone to do the same. Mexico's big tourism areas are worthy of their popularity, but there is so much to explore (And EAT!) in this wonderful country. Thanks again for watching! 👍 -Howard

There are way more churches than the videos says. In the entire state of Puebla: According to the archdiocese, the figure is only slightly exaggerated: there are 283 parishes registered, not including chapels, minor temples, oratories and other religious buildings. Puebla is perhaps the most historical and heroic region of Mexico, it's on my travel list, hopefully we will be able to go there soon.

Thanks for watching, and yes, the 365 (a church for every day of the year) is a legend more so than fact based on what we read as well. Regardless, there are a lot of churches! I do not know if you went or not, but I would suggest you to go to Mahahual to see the tortoises, to Bacalar ( water over there is terribly amazing!!!!), to Merida and Celestun and to Tequila!!! I saw many other places, but these for sure have a special place in my memory and heart, so I think I should recommend them to you!!! :)

A few comments, PASTES are actually pastries that originated when the Cornish miners settlers brought them to the State of Hidalgo. They're now a bit different. A "fonda" is an eatery, normally with a set menu for the day. "La Biblioteca Palafoxiana" is not a public library. It's actually a museum that was a library. That's why books having been checked out.... in a while. You seem nice people are your videos are very entertaining but check your naivité at the border. Looking forward to watching more of them.

Howard….you must be way smarter than me….the only word that I can remember from High School Spanish class is “chimichanga.” I have good news and I have bad news… The bad news is that the 1980s called and they want their sunglasses back…The good news is that your friends and family can now easily track your RV travels from afar… I looked at the NASA live-cam satellite website and its official… There are only two man-made objects that can now be seen from outer space… The Great Wall of China and those neon green sunglasses. Only a few people in the world can pull off looking cool wearing shades like those. Unfortunately you are not one of them. I’m not being condescending because I couldn’t do it either. I actually had a pair just like yours in 1989… I supersized my Coke at McDonald’s and they threw them in for $1.99. I wore them proudly over the next few weeks but unfortunately it proved to be a bridge too far from a fashion perspective for my girlfriend….she ultimately decided she needed a permanent break as we transitioned into the 1990’s. As you can imagine every time I see neon it triggers these old emotions. At this point you might as well go “all in” and grow big hair, wear MC Hammer pants (acid wash jeans will do if parachute pants aren’t your thing), get some Reeboks, fingerless gloves, and a Members Only jacket. Katelyn did give us a glimmer of hope while you guys walked through the market…..It appears from the Vlog that the neon sunglasses were just and intermediary step in the now famous sunglass hunt. Everyone in the USA is hanging on by a thread with anticipation and the possibility this could be true.
@NewstateNomads
@NewstateNomads 4 жыл бұрын
Cash, thanks for your understanding as I go through this painful time. 😂 Like you, I didn't find the neon green sunglasses, they found me. For free. With a cocktail at a pop-up for a liquor brand a few years ago in Miami. Thankfully for everyone (including NASA), they are a backup pair that I keep on hand when forces of wind, water, fire, earth, or heart (By your powers combined, Captain Planet) take my most recent pair of "favorite" sunglasses from me. I am still on the hunt, and promise to all our viewers updates once "the pair" are sourced and rightfully placed on my face. Now you got me hungry for chimichangas. -Howard
