Are you able to do a tutorial on an 'RNV visual Circling to Land' or are there not sufficient features for that in the PMDG?

Hi, thank you for watching. RNP Circle to land requires a companycoded RNAV circling in the FMC. But I will note it, as there are ways I can demonstrate it. Thanks for the great suggestion

What if you are getting vectored when using rx point?

Very nice video. Just for my further understanding; in a visual approach, why did you set the instrument missed approach and brief this? Wouldn’t Tower or Departure advise you of the missed approach instructions in the event of a go-around?

No. A visual approach is defined as flying part of an instrument approach with a visual segment. This means, that the missed approach should be flown as published. In normal circumstances, an airport has a preferred approach, fx an ILS to a certain runway. The normal procedure would be to setup and brief the ILS, but state "IF visual, we will request visual approach". In some cases, we would confirm with ATC the missed approach, as some missed approaches from an ILS procedure are complex and designed for terrain avoidance. In case you fly a visual approach into and airport with no obstacles or terrain, in daylight, it may make sense to ask for a missed approach with a climb straight ahead to the MSA. 🙂
