THIS VIDEO IS A RECONSTRUCTION OF THE FOLLOWING SITUATION IN FLIGHT:
A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-90, performing flight DAL1030 / AL1030 from Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson international airport, GA (USA) to Buffalo Niagara international airport, NY (USA), during the approach to Buffalo performed a missed approach procedure and requested diversion to Pittsburg. Also the pilot reported about wind shear on final and possible lightning strike. The landing at Pittsburg was safe. No one was injured.
TEXT VERSION OF COMMUNICATIONS. (Read if subtitles in video were fast):
COMMENTS: A Delta Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-90, flight 1030 (DAL1030), is approaching final runway 32 (RW 32) at Buffalo Niagara international airport.
DAL1030: [not clear].
TOWER: DAL1030, Buffalo Tower, wind 310 at 19 gusts 26, runway 32 cleared to land.
DAL1030: Cleared to land 32, DAL1030.
TOWER: Wind is 310 at 16 gusts 26.
DAL1030: [not clear] missed approach.
TOWER: Who called Tower, say again.
DAL1030: DAL1030, down and go for RW 32.
TOWER: DAL1030, roger, when able climb and maintain 3000, fly runway heading.
DAL1030: Fly runway heading and climb to 3000, DAL1030.
COMMENTS: Possibly there was a call from DAL1030, but we can’t hear it.
TOWER: DAL1030, go ahead, sir.
COMMENTS: Possibly DAL1030 reported that they are diverting to Pittsburg.
TOWER: [not clear] divert to Pittsburg, sir?
DAL1030: Affirmative.
TOWER: DAL1030, roger, you are cleared to Pittsburg via radar vectors. Climb and maintain 10000.
DAL1030: 10000, vectors to Pittsburg and we had a wind shear on approach, DAL1030.
TOWER: DAL1030, roger, thank you.
DAL1030: Also possible lightning strike on approach.
TOWER: DAL1030, roger. No damages or any malfunctions on board?
DAL1030: Negative, DAL1030.

DAL1030: Direct Pittsburg, DAL1030, and we’ll get back, if able, to 10000 for now.
TOWER: Roger.
COMMENTS: DAL1030 is flying to Pittsburg and it will contact Pittsburg tower in a moment.
DAL1030: Pittsburg Tower, DAL1030, visual approach RW 28L.
TOWER: DAL1030, Pittsburg Tower, 28L cleared to land, wind 280 21 gusts 37.
DAL1030: Cleared to land 28L, DAL1030.
TOWER: DAL1030, appreciate [not clear]. (Air traffic controller is asking pilot to check some parameters, possibly wind speed).
DAL1030: Roger.
TOWER: Wind check.
DAL1030: Wind 280 at 26 gusts 35.
TOWER: DAL1030, turn right join F, cross 28C at V, then C, C1, taxi to the ramp.
DAL1030: F, cleared to cross 28C at V and to the ramp, DAL1030.

HOW I DO VIDEOS:
1) I monitor media, airspace, looking for any non-standard, emergency and interesting situation.
2) I find communications of ATC unit for the period of time I need.
3) I take only phrases between air traffic controller and selected flight.
4) I find a flight path of selected aircraft.
5) I make an animation (early couple of videos don’t have animation) of flight path and aircraft, where the aircraft goes on his route.
6) When I edit video I put phrases of communications to specific points in video (in tandem with animation).
7) Together with my comments (voice and text) I edit and make a reconstruction of emergency, non-standard and interesting situation in flight.
