$40,000 is an amazing price for that property, I almost can't believe it considering 5 years ago I was looking at getting a house about the same size on the Ecuador coast about a similar 2 - 21/2 blocks back from the beach and it was $70,000 and Ecuador is known for having some of the cheapest coastal property in all of latin America.

Which is why I bought it. If you knew the area you'd also recognize how good of a deal it is. Actually another in Rio with good beaches and affordable properties is Guaratiba.

Love the videos. Just a few small notes. Leblon, Ipanema, Santa Teresa etc are not "towns" they are neighborhoods of the city of RJ. Also Barra da Tijuana is in the west zone definitely not in the south zone. Just want to make sure you sound like you know what you're saying. 💪💪💪

Nice, was in Carbo Frio last year. I was looking at land inside the so call gated community with the lake. Since I don't know the language very well , decided not to. But it's a beautiful peaceful area. The food there was excellent and inexpensive .Good Luck!

Amazing video! I just bought an apartment - pre construction- in the state north of RIo - Esprito Santo.. The city of Vila Velha ( a mini Rio de Janeiro but with less crime and a higher standard of living) has some AMAZING brand new construction buildings with affordable prices. This whole region is relatively unknown outside of Brazil but is definitely set to explode in the upcoming years

@@Karl__Pierre for some reason youtube is not allowing me to posts links but the construction company in Vila Velha with the option for 20 year financing without any bank involved is Argo Construtora Other major construction companies in the Vila Velha/ Vitoria metro region just to get an idea of some of the other buildings that are going up in the metro area are: Grand Construtora Galwan Costa Nova Kemp Engenharia I saw that someone commented a few months ago that Vitoria was a place to look at and really - not just the beautiful beaches, lower crime and higher standard of living -the metro region was declared the highest growth for real estate value in the whole country as of late last year! I've been telling all my gringo friends about it! I also just started looking into micro studios that are being built in great areas in Sao Paulo that are extremely affordable for airbnb rentals

Karl, if you had your choice of anywhere in the world to live, where would you make your home? I know you have visited and lived all over the planet, and that’s why I trust your opinion. I know you also have houses in many countries. I am a retired American, now living in my home state of Louisiana, but I have been entertaining the idea of moving abroad. I like communities located near the ocean.

I like Valencia Spain. It's high on my list to raise my girls there. Followed by Rio. I prefer the cost of living and vibe of the Carioca Culture however i feel Spain has better infrastructure. I also Love Medellin for the people and cost of living...but not costal What's your budget ? And aside from the coast what else matters? How large is your family?

I’m a senior citizen, a retired Probation Officer, and it’s just my wife and I. Our children are grown, but we live next door to my son who has four children. I kinda like the area of Scalea, Italy. Have you ever been there? I haven’t heard of a lot of people retiring to Spain, but if you like it, it must be a pretty nice place. Medellin would be a lot closer to Louisiana, which would help to make our visits back home more frequent. However, Columbia has a bad reputation.

Boy do I love Rio De Janeiro however I am having a hard time finding areas to spend time outside of Copa/Ipanema. There is no where that I feel I fit in as a high earning working professional American. Sao Paulo fits much better for me.

In Brazil it's going to most likely be cement black or clay blocks. I've never used Sip and doubt it's common down there unless I'm wrong. All the construction I see is standard cement block and red blocks

I'm in Canada saving money to invest in rental properties and/or Airbnbs. I know I wanna move to Brazil eventually and buy a house for an investor visa to get dual citizenship eventually. Not sure if I should start with Canadian properties and then expand into Brazil or start there due to lower purchasing costs.

All depends. Are you more interested in cashflow or dual citizenship?

I have staff and self manage. For current airbnbs the most important thing is to have reliable cleaners. The actual guest management isn't an issue.

This is a freaking challenge we had to send it to all sorts of exchange houses, one in China. One on Thailand not sure how the seller was getting the money into Brazil from there. You may consider Sao Paulo and Santa Catarina states seaside towns. They are richer and more developed. I also see a lot of potential in Rio Grande do Norte state. Take a look, go there.

Yeah in Buzios it's like an Argentinian Hotspot unlike any other tourist town I've been to in the State of Rio. Still trying to get an explanation for this

@@Karl__PierreBack in the time when Argentina had a stronger economic position than Brazil, they actually used to be everywhere along the coast of Brazil, in special in Rio de Janeiro and Camboriú and Florianópolis, Santa Catarina State. Some beaches in Florianópolis, for instante, where really crowded with Argentinians (Ingleses Beach etc.). They are still around, but mostly the few ones that have money.

@@Karl__Pierre , I was a real estate developer in Sao Paulo state for almost 20 years. Keep in mind that economic development and business environment vary wildly from one Brazilian state to another. You want to achieve your goals without getting into trouble. Rio de Janeiro state is riskier from the investor perspective and not as business friendly as other states.

@@Karl__Pierre , let me explain the highlights of each state... Rio Grande do Norte is a wonderful small northeastern state, with lots of potential, that has attracted many European investors. Explore the coast from Touros to Pipa. The state capital, Natal, is in the middle.
