This form has a ton of benefits which I couldn't fully understand or realize when we were practicing it. I asked Rameez's wife, who is a kinesiologist, and she spoke of the gains made from dynamic tension like this and from I Chin Ching. Thanks for sharing Sifu Jake!

This video reminds me of San Chin kata of some karate styles. The form and other cosmetic aspects may differ from Japanese, Okinawan, and other styles. But seems to me the intent is the same. Concentration (or focus), breathing, and dynamic tension movements to enhance strength and power . . . Chinese style. There are no shortcuts no matter what style you choose and what names you choose to label your practice. Thanks for posting.

Loved this set. Not too hard, but very effective. Only one comment. Iron Shirt is awesome to see without a shirt. I've watched some masters who don't look like much go into iron shirt and all of a sudden it's "What the F**". Their body completely changes. I could see it in your arms, but I bet it would have been more impact to see what Iron Shirt does to your muscles. Plus you've really worked hard on your body, Iron Shirt is a great way to display all of your hard work.

It's part of it and it will. There is no escaping the need for dynamic strength set to create the physique for practical iron shirt. The requirement to move chi for complete iron shirt is immense and cannot be done completely internally, as in using mostly intent. Time and again, this has been demonstrated by certain external styles by allowing random people to test their shirt. This is opposed to certain internal (usually wuxia fan) styles that have shirts that only work with their disciples or co-stylists. The trade-off is a shortened natural life span. I'm not affiliated with the performer but I recognise the intent in his exercise.
@VanishingNomad2 жыл бұрын
Correct. Additionally, hes doing it wrong externally as well.

Kung Fu & Tai Chi Center w/ Jake Mace I study Traditional Okinawan Shurin-Ryu (but I respect all style) and have been combining the conditioning methods from your videos with the conditioning methods from my own style and the results have been amazing. In my style we use a lot of bone on bone contact to build "Iron" bones in specific striking and blocking areas, but I have been seeing increased performance with your Iron Bone training. Thanks for all the uploads and shared knowledge, I'd love to see more Kata in the future :)

Also, thank you so much I've been training some straight kicks, inside smashes, outside smashes and blade kicks and I've been so flexible ever since, I can almost do the whole splits. I'm stretching your "Guy does full split" stretch every sunday with your "How to stretch for the splits even if you're a man" everyday. I was wondering if you're gonna post any videos on getting good reflexes as I think that's like a must have for martial artists! Much love

Nice job BattleNoa! Glad to hear you are training so well! Keep it up! Yes, we'll put a reflex video out soon! This form of Iron Shirt piggybacks off traditional Iron Bone and focuses a lot on the muscles, rooting, visual focus, and movement as it pertains to Iron Body training! Iron Bone and this video's Iron Shirt are both essential parts to the Iron Body training!

***** If you watch him perform his b.s made-up set at one point the breathing is way off and totally out - of - sync with his movements. This is basically his version of a rip-off of the Three Battles Sanzhan sets . He doesn't understand how to do it properly at all - not even on a basic level .
@089hlj9 жыл бұрын
***** Yep - this guy should not be teaching anyone. The skill is just not there. He's not fluid in his movements, he lacks a working knowledge of skeletal linkage/alignment principles, and how to co-ordinate the different breaths in combination with his motions. He makes up for it with lack-lustor physical fitness and a poor attempt at being charismatic. Bottom-line : the skill is just not there. Edit: The ultimate shame of the whole thing is there's a carbon-copy of this guy in every town in America.
@089hlj9 жыл бұрын
I don't buy-in to the whole mysticism thing . I prefer scientific terms, but that's besides the point. Space Case Mace . What he's doing is a blatant out-and-out insult to everyone who has ever taken a single kung fu or chi-kung class. He's insulting an entire culture of people.
@EpicBunty8 жыл бұрын
+Nicholas Meyers No one gives a fuck what you think,care or want. and there is nothing mystical about it. If you dont like it dont watch thats your opinion but sticking around to find invisible flaws and hidden intentions does not solve it. SPACE NUTCASE YOURSELF LMAO!! P.S - One Kung Fu class does not make you more of an expert than another who has done years of hard work ,training and conditioning of the mind and body.

The good news, kids, is that after you practice this style for some years then you don't need to do (what I would call) the form. You just do it. Instantly and completely. After about 20 years, I can take a punch in the face (from an average punk) and just blink. Then smile and watch them start to sweat. Yeah, that's probably cheating, but like Sun Tzu says, "The best victory is to win without contending." However, never even think that this will allow you to win bets or worse yet, bar fights. That would just be stupid. LOL Not that that would stop some people. ;)
