The UTS-15 was first designed in 2006, but then released in 2012. KSG-12 came out in 2011, and there is a high chance they started development much later than 2006. While UTAS was still fixing their reliability issues, it appears Kel-Tec took some notes.

@@eiite4578 the KSG is a great option! A Eotech is a great choice for optic on it too. We have a green Eotech on ours and it’s like a cheat code! Just remember to chicken wing hold it with your trigger hand so the spent shells don’t hurt your wrist! “I still occasionally get tore up for holding it wrong by the spent shells.

It depends WHAT it is, how it's maintained and what it's for. Dropped a buddy's glock frame onto a dumbbell and he literally tensed up on me. I'm not scared to THROW my guns at people, id admittedly be mad at myself for scratching them up but that's the thing, it's GOING to get fucked up. Long as it shoots what the fucks it matter how beaten up it is.

Brutal honesty here. Bought one of these around 2015/16, paid about $900 bucks, & now it's totally worthless and unusable. Put less than 100 light loads through it, and the carrier Bolt rails connected to the forearm snapped. Can't find the parts for a fix. My firearm is a total piece of junk. The biggest regret and waste of money on a firearm purchase I've ever done. Oh yeah another thing period while shooting light loads, everything seemed to Rattle apart.

My dad got one of these shotties about 6yrs ago and it was the most finicky SOB I ever dealt with. The shells would always get stuck in the lifter and the only ways to kinda avoid it was to rack it hard and keep it well oiled. Even then it had its days where it worked fine and others not so good. It got sent in for a warranty which UTAS did a barrel swap amongst other things to the bolt carrier which was a negligible difference. Still had to pay for sone reason despite being brand new out of the box. It's a cool shotgun when it worked. Especially when you can sling 15 rounds of it down range.

The thing about the UTS is that its basically if someone took the Keltek and said "make it sci-fi". The same way they take AKs or other guns and just slap an extra pound of plastic and make it square or blocky. The Airsoft kit comparison is spot on basically.
