As a private pilot who just got checked out in the G1000 C172 and for whom all this has not become yet second nature, I found this tutorial to be quite a useful review. One recommendation from my instructor (and also from the author of a good G1000 book): take advantage of the redundancy and always use only the buttons in the center (i.e. right side of the PFD and left side of the MFD). It's faster because you move your hand less and you don't block the view of the PFD instruments while you set up NAV frequencies, heading, altitude, A/P etc. Of course, this is more relevant for flying the real thing, but it helps not to change the habit when practicing with the simulator.

I have watched hundreds of hours of pilots in real airplanes, and certainly have my favorites, but I am really enjoying your teaching style (Asperger's syndrome, major depressive disorder) Flight simming was a major thrill for me for many years and I was never afraid to tackle a new challenge. You make the complex "simpler" which I find is a rare gift. Thank you for all you do, and I adore your cat. HUGE cat fan.

To get the minimums call out with a G1000, you have to select “BARO” instead of “OFF” to the left of where you input your minimums altitude. (Never played Flight Sim but it works in the real thing). Have fun not busting through minimums.

You have a excellent teaching style. A long time ago, the United States Air Force trained me as a Navigation Systems Specialist (Tactical AC). Learned about ILS, TACAN, VOR, IFF, and a bunch of secret stuff. I knew the concepts, and electronic theory in regards to how these systems operate. I never actually flew. Watching your videos have filled in a bunch of missing gaps in regards to how to use. Have had two successful sim flights in which I felt like I kinda knew what I was doing. Good video! Small tip. Use instrument view and you get a close up view and easier to set. Another tip, being that the yoke is actually there on the aircraft, it is counter intuitive to use the buttons on the left of the PFD. To mimic RL, I use the buttons on the right of the MFD. this gives me two things, I can keep my left hand on or near the yoke and everything I need to access is in easy reach with my right hand. This is very evident when you are actually flying and making adjustments.
