I have been so fortunate in my transition. I have supportive family, friends, and SO. I have had a few people be negative, but thankfully they've been the minority of those I've come out to over the years. I've very open about my transition now and it works for me. My heart goes out to those who don't have a good support system and have had more negative responses than positive ones. It's a trial by fire even when you have good support. I've had to work through self loathing and a host of other emotion that I can't really put names to, so I can only imagine the hell people go through when surrounded by people who don't accept you for who you are. Nat's mother is frustrating. It was good to see her at least trying at the end. Apparently growing up I gave off enough masculine vibes that my family thought I was at least a butch lesbian. I even went through a phase where I tried to be as girly as possible to "fix" myself. So when I came out to my mom her response was, "I know." 🤯 And here I thought I was masking well. lol My dad on the other hand has had to get used to it, which has been complicated by a traumatic brain injury that's given him dementia. He wasn't argumentative, like Nat's mom, in the beginning but he didn't want to talk about it but would say that he loves me and wants me to be happy. He's still not fully comfortable talking about my transition but we're definitely connecting better than we did when I was a teen. Anyway, these types of videos are so important. Not only are they informational but it helps those who are struggling know they're not alone. Hugs to anyone who needs them!

Some people just have a really hard time accepting change. It's something they have to work on not the person who is just trying to live their life.

The mother of Nat has to be more supportive, it's sad to see how she reacts when Nat has something to say. I understand it's hard to change in an instant, but at least make an effort and accept her the way she is.

Poor Nathalie, she doesn’t have a loving mother, somebody that she can turn to. What a horribly sad situation for a kid that desperately needs someone to be there for her. That woman doesn’t deserve to have any kids at all.

I'm hoping she will make a huge change in her heart and that things will completely turn around for Nat. I've heard so many stories of parents who were initially very transphobic only to become outspoken allies of the Trans community, so let's keep an open mind (I had exactly the same thoughts as you, but the shopping trip and the counselling looked like a good start- so long as her mum doesn't think it's an opportunity to try to change her daughter!)

While I have compassion for Kiren, I really feel for the mother. She gave birth to a son, & now that son is pretty much dead. Poor mother!
@Radi0_Silence Жыл бұрын
her “son” isn’t dead though, she’s right in front of her and i’m sure natalie is still the same person that she always was even when she was known as someone else. I understand it’s hard for people to get used to but think of the people who have to deal with you basically mourning a part of them that has never fit and made them feel miserable. In my opinion you should celebrate the fact that someone is finally courageous enough to be themselves instead of acting like there’s two diffrent people and ones just died.

Fucking doomed society that judges others...We are free to love whoever our heart chooses, and we are free to be whoever our heart desires, as long as it isn't hurting others. So dear ones, screw people without a brain and just be who you truly are.

It could be tough for the parents of the trans to deal with the fact that they will never biological grandkids so early on.

I know I will get a lot of bad feedback for this. But I'm so confused my brother son had a full beard and hair on his chest and he was always a little girly but now he's a she, he married his wife both where in their late 20's they have a boy 8 and a girl 5 my brother son is his daughter now and they stayed married and his wife is a lesbian and I guess my brother now daughter is a lesbian also I'm so confused. We live in a totally different state so no one would have told me about this my daughter found out by them posting pictures on FB. I believe this is so wrong for the children yes I am old fashion if I'm confused about what is going on what about the children. It's hard enough to grow up and trying to understand this crazy world we live in now. It's hard for the adults to deal with this.. But to have a very young child dealing with this grown up stuff I worry will they become confused. Please understand I don't condemn them I'm just confused. When I was young I dress like Cindy Lauper and I love Boy George and went to see Rocky picture horror show over 50 times and half of my friends are gay. But this is hard to understand.

It's only so "confusing" to adults because they've been socialized to understand gender in whatever ways they have been. Children are still in the process of learning roles and expectations. Seeing trans and gender nonconforming people isn't that confusing to them. They might have questions but they understand faster than most of adults because of their age. Looking up socialization. It's how we begin learning about roles and expectations in society as children.

It would be nice and make life alot easier if the Lord let people pick the gender they want before they are born.
