lmao, I watched the video (great video btw as a high school senior and incoming psych major with clinical emphasis), but just seeing "boba" and "farts" in this comment without context is the funniest thing

7:11 As someone who has been studying at home for the last ten years, this is so true. You assume you have more time. Everyone *else* assumes you have more time, as well (which just adds more to your caseload, but that's another point entirely.) But my experience matches this statement: you now have more time to *think*, and as a lifelong overthinker, this sort of situation has heavily contributed to my overall poor mental wellbeing. I do hope that, like Dr Mattu mentioned in another recent video, I hope that the stresses people are experiencing in this new living circumstance make the difficulties of mental health complications more relatable. I also hope it displays how susceptible we *all* are to mental health complications. Both these things might aid general empathy, something we could use more of.

As a gen z person I am worried about our generation as well. I know WAAAAY to many people with anxiety, social anxiety, depression and may other things. I had one friend tell me she cried every night during quarantine.

Thank you so much for sharing this. It's amazing to have hilarious memes combined with professional advice. Personally, I'm like Spongebob in 7:02 I'm always worrying about not doing enough and wasting precious time. But your advice really puts it into perspective and lets me to relax and even kind of enjoy the moment.

2:35 I can totally relate. The counseling office in my school was a place where I could feel calm and comfortable. It was my safe place, but I can't go to my safe place right now and that makes me sad.

I'm a final year med student and my sleep is so messed up because of the quarantine. I don't nap during the day, I work out and stretch daily, eat healthy. No matter what I try, I can't get more than 3-4 hours of sleep. But I'm not tired during the day when I'm awake. Idk what to do about it anymore 😭

How early you school starts confuses people in other countries, Australia schools are approx from 9-3 (some variation from school to school) with private schools being approx 8:30-3 (make up for them having longer school holidays). School cafeterias and hot lunches like that aren't a thing either.

I don't know why but i have had the most amazing time during this situation. I'm really being productive and from the first day i made a daily planner. I have done so many things. I don't know if i am capable of leaving house for work after the quarantine :)) I mean i have lots of stress like everyone else.but i have learned it is what it is so i just really need to use the time i have for the best. I'm not completely good at it but i'm trying.i really hope everyone is doing good and there is nothing but positive energy.

I'm a psych major in an internship as my last year in uni, and all of it has been cut off due to quarantine, I don't even have zoom classes to look forward to since everything I do is practical work. I have no motivation to do anything even though I really want to get to do things to get better. Sadly I'll just have to wait for everything to get over with

I’ve been at home with my kids 24/7. So stressful and exhausting. I’m also in Texas and we’re starting to open stuff up tomorrow, and I’ll be back at work on Monday. We have a coworker who passed from the virus and I’m super anxious about going back!

Great video, thank you! Could you please please make a video about how to deal with reading about crappy things happening in the world. I've been avoiding everything since I have anxiety (with a sprinkle of depression) but recently I've accidentally came across a very awful story that's happened a while back and it haunts me every day. Everything I do triggers me and reminds me of the story and I would love to learn how to disassociate my life from what I've read. I would be happy to read scientific articles about this too, I just need to know what this is called (as I don't know what to search for). Thank you and love from the UK!

That's why I closed my screen so they won't have to see me. It's true Zoom makes me self-conscious because I keep looking at myself. I need to focus on the person talking. LOL

There's an option to turn off your window, which can help with the feeling of being observed, but it doesn't help with the feeling that anyone could be looking at you. Good, accessible VR could help with this BUT that's way far off.

I'm a senior in high school... I'd grabbed my prom dress a week before my state's schools closed in March. My senior year is *not* turning out the way I expected, to say the least. But I'm making the most of it, I guess.

"... But schools have resisted for years and years (13:20-13:50)" Lol As if schools( as a whole bc I have some awesome teachers and staff) would actually take the physical and mental health needs of their students into serious consideration (At least in the U.S.- I don't know how other countries function).

Today's youth are so sheltered. Back in my day we had to wear a plague mask and ski to school and it was uphill both ways. The teacher would cough on us if we didn't do what we were told. Kids these days are just trying to go viral by licking toilet seats. We didn't have toilet seats lick. We had to lick yellow snow. We didn't have tiktoks. We had ticks and lice. I miss the good ol' days. I'll be 35 in the summer. I don't want to be old. 😭
