So rad. I was 7 yrs old when this was filmed and was already skating every day with the middle and high school kids in my neighborhood. Skating didn’t care about age, race, religion or anything else. If you skated in 89 you were part of a secret society. The clothes, tricks and ambiance of the street takes me back to those early days. Jim T is the man. Big up to all the lifers young and old.

I was 15 at this time, skating. This was really good for the time. Skating got really weird in the 90’s with the “big pants small wheels” etc etc. The 80’s was the last really cool era IMO.
@seekah13 жыл бұрын
Yep, that was a real downturn for the culture, no question. Thank goodness Tony could capture so much goodness back then.
@extraniceness3 жыл бұрын
Totally agree, but a whole lot of radness from the 80s did carry on into 1990 too which was an absolute blast for skating at that time. By ‘91 there was too much judgement. If you were skating a jump ramp and doing a boneless you were basically cut and considered old and uncool
@phildodson61413 жыл бұрын
Yep man! I was 14......skating was the best from 88-91.......1992 really changed overnight! Once plan b video was out everything was super tech and big clothes all of a sudden! Miss that era too but skating in 89 was so fun. Man were old now! Ha ha!
