He's more than just a pretty "Face." The A-Team's Faceman, Dirk Benedict, writes an intelligent, witty and thought-provoking true-life story of surviving Hollywood, terminal prostate cancer and the North American diet.

Thank you MM. I read Dirk Benedict's book 2 decades ago and loved it. I've been on a macro diet for 14 years and not a day of sickness I've had, not even a single cold - total liberation from illness and misery. I was bedridden for 3 years with a mysterious digestive problem and no doctor or specialist could help me - only when I turned macro did health return... and stay.

I've heard you mention Mr Benedict's book numerous times since I tuned into your wonderful channel. Hearing your actual review of it has got me wanting to read it. His roles on two of my childhood favorite TV shows were aspiring to me. I couldn't tell you how many times I played as Starbuck or Face-man. I'd always wondered what had happened to him, though I've learned a few things within the past few years by fan pages and interviews . Thanks again for this review/real talk!! Nerdmaste'!

Great review. I bought the book because I didn't know that you could beat cancer in 6 weeks with natural means. He states that his cancer was caused by food and he used specific food the beat it. As you said in your review this all happened before he was famous. To me this means the most in credibility. This method wasn't driven by fame, it was just him in a cabin. The one thing that really struck me was the advice he was given before his self treatment. It was "good behavior". So not going off the treatment and he didn't. What an inspiring life.

Thanks for the info. I thought he was picked for a-teams "face man" because he was just another pretty boy, now i understand he was in a reality a samson both inside and out.🐯

Thanks for the review, I loved BG and Dirk when I was a kid . I have been a vegetarian over 20 years now. I had no idea Dirk was into holistic health and diet. Its wonderful. It's sad that Hollywood is such a dark side. I use to think it would all be so glamorous and fun, it does not bring real happiness. PS . Are his other books any good?

I am going to try to keep this short, I usually tend to rattle on and on an on! Number 1….. Big Fan of Dirk, and now, going to go out to get this Book! Thank you for your review! Number 2….. You Michael, should be so proud in your thinking and what you have accomplished in life! I have also become a Fan of yours as well! I really enjoyed this! I actually am going to Helena, Montana, to be with one of my Sons and his little guys, with another Baby on the way for him and his Wife…. Which actually, just found out that Dirk is from Helena and now lives 3 Hours down the road in BigHorn, I hope I run into him so I can tell him what a special person he really is! I hope I get to run into you as well and tell you in person, that this review of Dirk’s Book, was not just a review for me, it was such a heartfelt, motivating, TRUTH BE TOLD, what have you , that I really needed to hear today! So, I bought this old 1974, Nomad Camper, and I am going to do it! Soon, I will be there in Montana, not just in the hopes of running into Dirk, but, to spend time with my family, which I was not a terrible Mother, just wasn’t there a whole lot, going to fix this now! I really appreciate this segment and you for your words of inspiration though out! I love the truth and I believe you hit the nail on the head when you reached on …. well, in short, people, a lot of people just want to be miserable, and so, they make everyone else miserable as well. I Subscribed to you! I noticed that this was about 5 years old, but, no matter what, what you said here, with last a lifetime in my heart! Hope we can chat sometime! I don’t know how to get a notification if I get one on here, not Tech savvy, but, I am pretty sure that we will run into each other at some point! Thx for making my day! And Thx for the kind words that you said about Dirk and his book! I am going to make a change and be happy for once! Oh, lived in Los Angeles for a bit, uggggg, was so fake!

A well thought out review that does the book and the author justice. I just left a more in-depth response on DBC but thought I'd comment here as well. Nice job! Wouldn't mind if you did his other book sometime too. :)

You are right about the people in Hollywood. Most are awful people, self-important and/or sociopaths.

Michael, thanks for such an intelligent review. Did you know there was a publishing house that burned 5000 copies of that book, rather than selling them? Not sure, but I think the AMA was behind that. Your review was so spot-on, so enjoyable. Thank you so much. Also, I would say you have a wonderful diet because your skin is terrific and your eyes very clear. A great way of eating is responsible for clearness of thought as well. Thanks again for a wonderful review.

Thank you Lorey! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I'm not at all surprised to hear about so many copies of this book being burned. There's isn't as much profit in educating and encouraging people to own their lives and be healthy in simple, natural ways as there is in pushing pills and foods that are detrimental to our health. Corporations see the public as customers, not souls, and so they'll always do what makes the most profit, not what makes their conscience feel most peaceful. :)

As per Dirk and his cigars...I heard that he doesn't smoke them. He places them in his mouth...but he doesn't light up. Meaning, I don't believe that he inhales. He likes to aroma.

Interesting! I just mentioned in a recent video about my 1/6 collection how many figures are smoking, and that it's all about looking cool even though it's a terrible habit. Good for Dirk for not inhaling.
