That ring was a beautiful find. I never get tired of watching your videos. It has kept me entertained as I sit by my husband side while he is battling cancer. You keep it interesting to me by all the different locations you go to and the company you keep especially when accompanied by Nicole. Also love the history of all the wonderful finds, can’t say enough about all the wonderful things you do and share. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures. Christy Buckeye, AZ

🙏❤️🩹🌹 Do hope he is doing well. My dad fought AML for almost 5 years. My mom was his caregiver & we all tried to help amap.Most don't understand how isolating it is to care for another with cancer. You have to stay well & they can't be exposed to anything so that leaves you home all the time on call to help your spouse. Nobody had commented so I thought I'd acknowledge your comment because I know you don't get out much. I am disabled now myself with tons of Autoimmune & it's so isolating. We watch these videos to have adventures because we can't right now. Hugs from California.😊🌸💕

Si, what a beautiful ring! Can't wait to be taken along to see the recording of it with the museum. Your kitties are adorable, love when you include them in your videos. That eerie sound, sounds like whale song to me. I have an hour long recording of whale song. It's really lovely to play if you're having trouble sleeping. I think it's a hauntingly, beautiful sound. As I almost always say, a great Sunday morning with a mudlarking video to start the day. Thanks for taking us along on your adventures.

A very elegant ring, Si - looks like Roman to me. I also think the stone could be a type of ruby called a Pigeon's Blood ruby - because the pinkish tone to it, is the same colour as .... pigeon's blood. This type of ruby is extremely rare now, but it used to be as common as the usual red ruby, right up to Victorian times. Now though, the mines in Myanmar (Burma) for this gem are all becoming depleted. If the Museum decides they want to acquire it, I bet it would be agony, handing it over - no matter how much money they paid you!
@Sifinds6 ай бұрын
Cheers Polly! That sounds interesting about the stone x

That ring is very very old. In 1906, they started requiring jewelers to stamp the quality of gold on the item. And that gold was molded around this stone instead of, Having a place setting for it. If I had to guess, I would say that ring is between three hundred and six hundred years old.

Amazing the ghostly sound is a whale. 100%
@ladywisewolf39425 ай бұрын
It does sound a little like a whale, problem is, they were no where near water deep enough for whales. And if you listen to whale recordings, their sound is much more drawn out , louder and with different pitches. Also nether Si nor his friend heard the sound at the time. What it is I'm not sure, but you never know.
@christopherbrubaker20705 ай бұрын
Yes, it could it still be a whale, the ground is saturated with water, and I think the sound would travel by vibration to the camera legs just the same. So I agree. Other guessed is just air bubbles escaping the mud that the tripod was set in.
@claredobbs32686 ай бұрын
Hi Si, that noise, i’ve heard before! I heard it at the Roman amphitheater in Caerleon in south wales! Apparently it the sound of a Roman legion horn!
