Love my '19 sel premium...roomy and comfortable interior, quiet and smooth ride, decent power and good handling, good gas mileage...

Thanks for the test drive. Good to note the new ones run on 87 octane and that and the longer warranty in my mind are the reasons for the detune. Two things bother me in all vehicles- road noise and wind noise. I was in a 300E yesterday and it had those galore.

The puny engine is the only drawback to an otherwise better design. They should have kept the 2.0 200 H.P. with a better tranny and tuned it and the fuel economy might have been as good or better. I know a lot of people turned off by this engine and won't buy it because of previous ownership with the 2.0 turbo. Good review.
@2004cyrus5 жыл бұрын
Gregory Trane I own a 2019/ and honestly it’s not a race car but I don’t have any speed or power problems once I got used to it being a little slow off the line. You have plenty of juice and passing power when needed. If it was bad, I would be trading it in already. I have 4000 miles on it. Do I wish it had more power...sure but that applies to every vehicle I’ve ever owned. And in the city where I’m at, it’s like 35-40mph or less.

In Sweden at least we have 2 versions of Tiguan. Normal and Allspace (which is same as US version).
@plawson914 жыл бұрын
Tiguan does not have dynamic suspension and you cannot adjust the ride. He's referring to drive mode selector which is not suspension dampening.

You recommend it but in describing the drive you said things like.. From a stop to moving is annoying not that bad not that annoying not too irritating. It's not a cheap vehicle and hearing review after review mention how bad the stopping of the engine into moving forward and lagging Turbo etc is not what I want to hear. I want to hear how smooth from a stop to go out is not... How I can put it into a mode each time but need to reset after every turn off of engine and restart.
@rreichar16 жыл бұрын
Most, if not all of that goes away in sport mode. When I drive ours I just put it in sport mode and turn off stop/start when I get in. Great car.

@@rreichar1 when i put my Santa Fe in sport mode it has much better acceleration but is also uses more fuel...do you notice a big difference in your Tiguan (Because really consider it as my next vehicle)
@rreichar15 жыл бұрын
I haven’t noticed a significant difference in fuel economy in sport mode. I am sure it is affected negatively, but not enough for me to notice. It is mostly my wife’s car. I drive it on road trips or when I need more room than my Audi A3. I feel like the throttle response/shifting has gotten better over time. I still drive it mostly in sport but mainly because I want to, not because I have to. I wouldn’t let the throttle response comments in reviews bother you. I like the Tiguan more the longer we have it. We’re in Texas where AWD isn’t a must and we couldn’t find one with AWD and the 3rd row seats in a color that my wife liked. Dealers had very few AWDs in stock. I regret not waiting for an AWD. There are times where I notice the FWD. Only when driving fast on really rough roads though. If I had it to do again I’d skip the 3rd row and get AWD. I think it’s a great vehicle.

Shubham Saini I purchased mine 3 weeks ago so far 500 miles , no problems 2nd year is usually better. The 72 month warranty on the 2019 is worth it, plus they are offering $4,000 discounts and 2.9% for 60 months

Strange, 99% of reviewers of this car, uniformly dinged this vehicle for being underpowered. Also, many have called out a dangerous hesitation when you gas the accelerator and it takes up to 3 very long seconds for this vehicle to respond.
@RumblestripDotNet6 жыл бұрын
Rolan A Please share links to all of these reviews by all of these people reviewing the Tiguan to say is horrible. All the colleagues I have talked to have had nothing but praise for it. Also dangerous acceleration delay not so much.

Rolan A if you think the 2.0 is unpowered, imagine the 1.4 in most of the trims here in Mexico. I realy do not know to buy the 1.4 Tiguan or a 2.5 RAV4. Please HELP
@solid13786 жыл бұрын
Get the RAV4. It will be a much more reliable vehicle. Just change the oil often, do regular maintenance and your car will last and be trouble-free for a very long time, unlike the VW.
@Oro-xc7vg6 жыл бұрын
Rolan A thank you! Or maybe to wait for the new Rav4 but it Will be more expensive and it could take long to have it in Mexico. What do you suggest. Thanx!
@solid13786 жыл бұрын
@Oscar Get the existing RAV4. Last generation cars are always the best because all initial problems are fixed. You can also get a better deal as dealers try to clear out inventory for new models. As general rule, no matter which manufacturer, always avoid 1st Generation redesigned models. They tend to have more problems than average.

Beautiful car and I like the larger Tiguan but as a couple people have said here, get a Rav 4 or a CR-V. Better reliability as long as the maintenance is done. Even with a 6 year warranty who has time to stay at a garage. There's complaints all over forums about the pillars inside the thing rattling and other smaller issues that are keeping owners at the garage. This thing completely speced out at retail is $4k to $5k more expensive than its main competition.

KDS1000 You get what you pay for. And how can you predict reliability on a vehicle that launched little over a year ago? Elaborate.
