How exactly did your god bless this boy? It amazes me that people still cannot wrap their minds around how convoluted a statement like this is. So this god you claim is real set this boy up for a 12 year life marked by constant pain, misery, suffering and surgeries or somehow didn't have any control over any of that but could cause him to die so as to spare him more suffering and therefore blessed him? The litany of people referencing a god in relation to this poor boy's suffering is truly irrational and bizarre. Pretending there is a perfect afterlife to balance out all the suffering is irrational as well and only makes our inability to deal with life and death more problematic. Pretending this boy's suffering is balanced out now by him having a care free "life" in heaven where we will see him again is excruciatingly irresponsible.

Carrieann Guerrero I know it’s the wee boy in the video and I know he’s not a member of your family. But just saying my condolences so that if there is anyone that is a member of his family on here then they can see it. So sorry to hear about what had happened to you as well. I would be absolutely heart broken too about losing a child. Your child’s name is a beautiful one. And sorry to hear that you were almost murdered as I know how scary that is. Good on you for driving yourself to the hospital. Hopefully when he gets out of prison the police keep an eye on him. I was almost 13 when it happened to me. I wasn’t stabbed but I did get a bike chain put round my neck by the bully who was in my class at school. I was so terrified for my life that my mum kept me off for the remainder of the last week of the school year and the school said they would sent a truancy officer if I refused to go and my mum said to them “bring it on. She is so scared of being there. I’ll be getting our lawyer involved and we’ll see what he has to say about this”. The school didn’t do anything about it until after we went back after the summer break in 2004 where the suspended the bully for 2 weeks because the other students came forward as they all saw what had been happening. It’s never easy when stuff like this happens in life. Hope you and your family keep yourselves safe during the Covid-19 (coronavirus) too. Me and my family are keeping ourselves safe, but not everyone is choosing to follow the rules of keeping social distances here in NZ. A few people have already been arrested in NZ and Australia because of it.

Sad to see how ill-fitted Jack's wheelchair is. I've used a manual wheelchair since I was the age of 2 and having a chair that fit me, allowed me to easily transfer in and out, was critical in my mobility. I'm assuming that's all the NHS would pay for :(

What Jack endured in his short life is truly staggering and sobering. I know it is a modern human reflex to offering "blessings" from a "god" but isn't it time to use his example as clear indication that there are no blessings at work here. Did a god really bless this boy with a horrifically painful and short life or somehow bless him by killing him so that he could be in a "better place"? And if heaven is better than earth and god created both, why worship a god that intentionally makes us suffer so that we bow and kiss his metaphorical feet like a child does to his or her parent so that good things come to us only after this life ends? Jack was a brave boy cursed with a brutal example of the randomness of being alive and clearly illustrates how fragile this life is.
